Shares mag shows 27% of VOG shares out on loan perhaps shorters becoming nervous if a bid is comiing.

cynic - 08 Jan 2008 13:18 - 1766 of 2511

well spotted ..... a heavy(?) bear squeeze is indeed more than likely

capetown - 08 Jan 2008 13:26 - 1767 of 2511

CYNIC,would you buy now?

scotinvestor - 08 Jan 2008 13:42 - 1768 of 2511

capetown - 08 Jan 2008 13:50 - 1769 of 2511

fliper - 09 Jan 2008 09:01 - 1770 of 2511

These are moving north now .

explosive - 09 Jan 2008 10:04 - 1771 of 2511

Can't see that anything has changed here to substantiate the recent price rise of +140%, intresting to see Barclays are biggest holder with over 12%. VOG still making a loss but being viewed as undervalued by someone...... What don't we know? Pointless investing blind but somethings going on, maybe rights issue around the corner..!!..

shadow - 09 Jan 2008 14:43 - 1772 of 2511

An hedge fund as just sold shares in vog and are been bought by traders as they are desperate for your stock and the rise continues.

janetbennison - 09 Jan 2008 15:05 - 1773 of 2511

unfortunatly the anouncement does not tell us what day that man group sold out. It is not normally on the the day, say today that the shares were sold.

janetbennison - 11 Jan 2008 22:53 - 1774 of 2511

today british bulls saying that to sell at .25 and a half pence is a confirmed sell. Lets see if they are right on this one next week.

This rec'd from Peter Shearlock's stock pick tips this morning

VOG turning the corner?

It is too early to tell whether we have seen the low point in the Victoria Oil & Gas share price, but, in a delayed reaction to the previous weeks big fundraising, the shares ran from 17.75p to over 30p last week before coming back to 24.75p as investors looked at the potential impact of new shareholders and the involvement of new technical expertise.

An Abu Dhabi-based group of investors has now taken a 29 per cent stake in VOG in a move that injects 12 million net new cash and allows the company to retire an old convertible bond. Four new directors are coming on board. Most importantly, perhaps, the company will now have the technical assistance of the oil and gas consultancies, Blackwatch Petroleum and GeoDynamics Research, which will now undertake a full review of the West Medvezhye and Kemerkol oil and gas prospects where VOG has experienced so much difficulty finding oil in commercial quantities.

I tipped the shares here in January 2006 at 162.5p. If you have held all the way through the past two years, continue to do so. It does look as if VOG has turned the corner.

capetown - 05 Feb 2008 12:09 - 1776 of 2511

I nearly got in to this one @18p and have clearly missed out!,
20% rise today,no news?

scotinvestor - 05 Feb 2008 12:32 - 1777 of 2511

who cares when u buy in at 150p

geoffsh - 05 Feb 2008 12:35 - 1778 of 2511

News was released yesterday that GLG partners [global investment management ] bought a 16.12% stake in vog.I dont think you should assume you have missed out ,because with the recent developments at Victoria they are in a better position than ever to start realising their huge potential.

HARRYCAT - 05 Feb 2008 12:40 - 1779 of 2511

Current analyst forecast on Selftrade is hold, with a forecast price of 64p.
I have not been able to find out who the analyst is, nor how they arrive at the price target, so treat with caution. But at least it would reduce losses for those still holding from way back.

capetown - 05 Feb 2008 12:40 - 1780 of 2511

Scotinvestor, hope you get your money back!clearly you dont care!
geoffsh,if there is a pullback i will go for it.
good luck to all that hold.

Another update from Peter Shearlock's stock pick tips 1st Feb

VOG completes its fundraising

Victoria Oil & Gas has completed its 20 million fundraising, which included a 15.25 million share placing at 15p a share. Importantly, interests of chairman Kevin Foo were among the placees. Now the company will get its two new partners, Blackwatch Petroleum Services and GeoDynamics Research, to advise on the development of the West Medvezhye and Kemerkol licences that have promised so much and delivered so little.

At West Medvezhye, this will include running trials of GeoDynamics passive seismic technology, which is as yet untried there. For Kemerkol, the existing 2D and 3D seismic data will be reinterpreted. A new passive seismic survey may be performed to help define the best 2008 drilling targets. The short-term goal is to increase production to the point where Victoria can apply for an export licence and so receive export prices for the oil produced.

Blackwatch will also help find new acquisitions to boost production levels and increase VOGs reserves. Kevin Foo says the recent events signal a major turnaround for Victoria. One can only hope so. Down from a recommendation level here in January 2006 of 162.5p to 20.5p now, VOG has a lot to prove. Hold.

2517GEORGE - 05 Feb 2008 13:09 - 1782 of 2511

HARRYCAT----- I would be wary of that analyst forecast, around 150% increase from here, and he has a hold rec? I would have thought a raving buy more appropriate.

HARRYCAT - 05 Feb 2008 13:37 - 1783 of 2511

Yes, that's what prompted me to advise caution.
But, so far I haven't seen any negative broker/analyst comment, so not all bad.

scotinvestor - 05 Feb 2008 19:41 - 1784 of 2511

thanks cape

of course i care.....but if it gets to more than a pound, i think i'll have to wait a year or 2 and even then some good luck.....i thought of investing say 20% of original earlier but held back

i'll just wait and see
