Energy Technique - Will this be one of the next growth stock. (ETQ)

Legins - 02 Sep 2003 17:45

Could ETQ's share price be soon to benefit from their developments with the new UVGI Nightingale Mobile Air Filtration Product.

New UVGI air filtration product

In November 2002, the ETQ announced its new Nightingale UVGI air filtration product, to be produced by a new joint-venture company, UVGI Systems Limited, owned 55% by the Group and 45% by Suvair Limited. This rapid response mobile air filtration unit is capable of killing the MRSA super bug and other airborne pathogens.

The UVGI unit has widespread application where there is need to keep
air free of dangerous live bacteria, viruses, and fungal spores, including
hospitals, schools, cruise liners, aircraft, food processing, and military
applications.

The UVGI unit uses a high intensity Ultra Violet Germicidal Irradiation ('UVGI')
filter, which has been designed to control harmful and dangerous airborne
pathogens, such as Anthrax, Tuberculosis, and Staphylococcus aureus, the
causative agent in MRSA. The filtration system is combined with use of high
intensity Ultra Violet light, which inactivates micro organisms by disrupting
their DNA structure.

Tests of a prototype at the Defence Science Technology Laboratory ('Dstl') at
Porton Down, the centre for excellence for the Ministry of Defence, showed that
the UVGI unit captured and/or destroyed more than 99.9% of Bacillus subtilis
spores, a simulant for Anthrax bacteria.

Since November, second generation units have been developed, which will go on
applications testing at an NHS Trust Hospital in December 2003, following
building completion of its new haematology unit. It is also anticipated the
UVGI unit will shortly go on laboratory testing in the United States with
contractors nominated by the Department of Homeland Security.

Concern seems to be hotting up on the T.V. news that the MRSA super bug is still killing and disabling people visiting or as patients in NH Trust hospitals. It would be surprising if NH Trust hospital do not notice and Buy this product before they get to many expensive law suits for compensation claims.

Definitely a stock that could soon be heading north. Worth buying in but DYOR

Hi Mickey, long term for me is about 6 months, medium term for myself is about 3 months & short term again for myself is about 1 month.

Press mention : was in today's Daily Mail Newspaper, page 58.

Heavy buying in response to an Evolution recommendation lifted Energy Technique 1 1/4 p to 6 5/8 p.

SueHelen,

I read your posts and find them very informative. Can you tell me what TA stands for in your post of 175.

SueHelen - 04 Aug 2004 11:41 - 181 of 497

Hi Safety, TA is an abbreviation I use for Technical Analysis.

Level 2 at 1 v 3, MMs are shaking the price today to get stock back, barely any sells.
The market makers need to balance their books, they have sold 6-7 million shares this week and have got back about 1.75 million shares this week. That's all there is to the small drop today. Buys still trickling in.
Evident with the way buys still outweigh sells today :

Buys = 211,489
Sells = 182,741.

Treeshake is so evident, there are just no sellers about. Need to balance their books ???

The same actions occured last week and it was so evident. These kind of actions normally happens before good news is about to come...same occurence last week before the EVO buy note came.

Important when these kind of actions occur it is a good ideas to see what they do with the offer price, as any would be buyer need to look at that, with the bid price they'll keep moving it around to get stock back. Keep an eye on the offer price, see how low that goes if it does do so.

I think the price will consolidate at 6.00 pence now this week just like the price consolidated and built support at 5.00 pence last week. Then the price may follow onto 7.00-7.50 pence next week.

SueHelen - 04 Aug 2004 12:34 - 182 of 497

High volume days in rising prices and low volume days in falling prices strengthens the stock. This occurence has been happening to ETQ since the product sale announcement in the first week of July.

I have bought now. All short term indicators are screaming buy on this short term chart and the necessary retracement has happened. Buyer beware and look at my later posting re long term trend, which is down. This buy refers only to the short term trend

SueHelen - 04 Aug 2004 16:22 - 184 of 497

Hi Snip, re : my posts last week, I had a feeling that it was going to happen as my TA was giving me the indication of a nice uptrend about to happen. Anyway I'm in at 4.95 pence from last week and bought another four thousand pounds worth yesterday at 6.55 pence.

SueHelen - 04 Aug 2004 17:07 - 185 of 497

The Market Makers got it so wrong with their attempted treeshake today, they could not get much stock back.

At close :

BUYS = 348,285
SELLS = 344,279
????? = 12,741.

25 Buy Trades
11 Sell Trades
1 ???? Trade.

Buyers continued to accumalate stock for the third consecutive trading day.

SueHelen

You seem keen on this stock and I was tempted to get on board. But before doing so decided to do some research.

This company has a risk grade of 713 bearing in mind the FT100 is 100. This is higher than DES which is frontier stuff it's self. Also its revenue for end of march 04 was 10.819 with a pretax loss of -1.472, net income -1.472 and total share capital/reserves of -0.211. The last div paid was 1998.

This one to me seems a real risk. Why are you so positive about it with a balance sheet like this.

Off to light the bbq and have a couple of g&t's so I won't be able to pick up your reply untill tomorrow.

Regards
mickeyskint

Snip - 04 Aug 2004 20:29 - 187 of 497

mickey I agree with you. I got over 4000 shares for 300. That is a small fraction of my spend on a `reliable` stock. Chartwise risk/reward is pretty good though with a SL at 4.60 and a potential rise to 15. However I shall be watching carefully.

Have a look at the HSD thread to see how I handle a risky stock

SueHelen - 04 Aug 2004 23:50 - 188 of 497

Hi Mickey,

There wasn't anything surprising or untoward in the results, the market was expecting a loss of around 1 million pounds.

From the Product Sale announcement in the first week of July :

Product sale

The Company is pleased to announce the sale of its first Nightingale air filtration system - developed to kill the MRSA hospital superbug, TB, and other dangerous germs - into the US healthcare system. The first unit will be sold to the Northwest Hospital Center in Randallstown, Maryland.

Energy Technique Managing Director Leigh Stimpson said: Following the careful development and pre-marketing work we have put into Nightingale, this sale is ahead of our expectation on timing and is great news for the Company.

We are confident further sales will follow in due course both within the UK and US in line with our business plan and validates the Companys extensive development of the product. Further to this we believe the sale can only strengthen our case for this product to be used within the NHS.

Nightingale uses ultraviolet radiation combined with sophisticated air flow systems to attack the DNA of killer germs such as the MRSA hospital superbug, anthrax and TB.

Financial Times on 10 July 2004 :

Mentioned ENERGY TECHNIQUE as one of the SHINERS of the previous week stating that with the USA deal the UK deals with the NHS should follow due to this breakthrough!

Reply from the Department of Health :

Thank you for your e-mail of 12 July 2004.

The majority of bacteria transmitted between patients are transferred on
the hands of attendants, hence the continued emphasis placed on hand
decontamination before patient contact. The problem of airborne
transmission is associated with specific problems such as the potential for
fungal infection in cancer patients and the spread of respiratory viruses.

The Government is always interested to hear of new products, however you
will understand that we cannot endorse any particular one. Introduction of
a new product would need careful consideration by Trusts to establish the
evidence that it prevents infection and has no adverse effects on patients.
It is to help the NHS make such assessments that we are developing a rapid
review process to assess new procedures and products for which claims of
effectiveness are made for their ability to prevent or control healthcare
associated infections (HCAIs). We will contact Energy Technique when the
review process has been etstablished.

This is part of our new approach to tackling healthcare associated
infections, "Winning Ways - Working together to reduce Healthcare
Associated Infection in England", published on 5th December. This is
available at http://www.dh.gov.uk/assetRoot/04/06/46/89/04064689.pdf. This
is part of our drive to put quality of care and patient safety at the heart
of NHS practice and we are confident that implementation of "Winning Ways"
will reduce infection rates.

Yours sincerely

Shares Magazine on 15 July 2004 :

With almost a 10% risk of infection for hospital in-patients from the MRSA superbug, TB, anthrax and other dangerous germs, the government has launched a campaign to cut the death toll.

One beneficiary should be Energy Technique (AIM:ETQ) whose shares have doubled to 8p since it announced the first US sale of its Nightingale air filtration system to the Northwest Hospital Center in Randallstown, Maryland. More US sales are expected to be announced shortly. The system, a free standing air conditioner the size of an American fridge and costing 5,000 uses ultrviolet radiation combined with sophisticated qir flow systems to attack the DNA of killer germs.

The lenghty trial of two units at Basingstoke Hospital comes to an end in Autumn. Energy Technique is hopeful this will finally kick start long-awaited sales to the NHS.

Meanwhile licensing and manufacturing deals have beed struck with major companies to gear up production assuming demand takes off. The company's own factory at Basingstoke can make only about 1,000 units a year.
Full results will be released shortly and will show a 1 Million-plus loss. The company is trading profitably and is well funded after a 3 Million placing at 4p a share in March

Shares Says: Air Filtration market offers huge potential

17 July 2004 :

Tipped by City Equities in their July newsletter !

Below is the copy of the BUY note from Evolution Beeson Gregory (EVO) which came out last week who upgraded ETQ from add to outright BUY :

Energy Technique (ETQ) Buy (from Add)
Mkt cap: 8m Net cash: 1m Recommendation change Price: 5p
Set to hot up
Over the last week the share price has fallen by nearly 40%. Our
fundamental view of the business remains in tact and we are raising our
recommendation to a BUY.
On 7th July Energy Technique announced it had sold its first Nightingale air
filtration system in the US. Investors responded positively and the share
price doubled. Whilst we remain confident the shares remained good value
in the long term, the shares looked unlikely to perform in the short term.
Therefore, on 21st July we reduced our recommendation to Add. Since then
the shares have fallen c 40% and we once again see some short term upside
in the share price. As a consequence we are raising our recommendation
back to a BUY.
We anticipate share price movements over the coming months are likely to
be stimulated by news flow from either the branded distribution operation
or the air treatment division. Preliminary results showed the branded
distribution operation is now established and poised to move into
profitability during the current financial year. We would expect the
company to update the market on its progress at the AGM stage. However,
the largest potential upside resides within the air treatment side of the
business. As experienced earlier this month, the market is likely to respond
favourably to any positive news flow from the division.
Following share price fall we are
raising recommendation to BUY
News flow will be key

Investtech Analysis update :

Weak Positive Candidate (Short term) - Aug 4, 2004
Has broken through the ceiling of a falling trend channel. This indicates a slower falling rate initially, or the start of a more horizontal development. The stock has support at p 5.10 and resistance at p 8.10. Volume tops correspond well with price tops, and volume bottoms correspond well with price bottoms. Volume balance is also positive, which strengthens the stock. The stock is overall assessed as technically slightly positive for the short term.

Snip - 05 Aug 2004 08:17 - 191 of 497

SH with respect. You say that you put quite a lot of money into the stock (relative to the stock price). You would hold approx 164 thousand shares. So every 1p rise above your break even point would show a profit of 1640

(Tongue in cheek here) Do you think you might have a vested interest in ramping the stock?

Anyway you are brave

SueHelen - 05 Aug 2004 08:55 - 192 of 497

Hi Snip, I didn't see that coming as I got in as you well know at 4.95 pence intially last week with 100,000 shares. Now you were well aware of how I decided to buy in with my first purchase whilst you were very negative. So I should be posting the question to you as from one of your post yesterday afternoon you wrote down this is a screaming buy now...so what is different from mine apart from that I back my views with facts which have proved right.

My long post last night, I was answering Mickey's question. This is the average amount of sums that I put in each of my stock.

How about admitting that you were wrong last week with your analysis and I was right.

SH I am purely a chartist and not a gambler on `hearsay` from whatever source. I invest and withdraw when my charts looks right

I wish I could post the signals from my (very powerful) updata TA system. You will find that I always post a comment without the words `I think` or `might` as they are gambling words

The reward/risk ratio must also be worthwhile. Hence my low investment in this stock but nevertheless involving over 4000 shares.

When someone wins on a stock then someone else has to lose. Simple!!!

I couldn`t morally ramp such a dangerous stock to jo public

SueHelen - 05 Aug 2004 09:19 - 194 of 497

And.....

I've done the same if not better with explaining everything since my first post here.
"
I couldn`t morally ramp such a dangerous stock to jo public" - What are you implying Snip.

Dangerous stock - this is the lowest risk stock that I hold. All my stock picks are in oversold firms.

I'm not get into a slanging match with you and waste my time. How about you start unearthing some information as well. You didn't see the broker buy note coming and when it came you were still negative...and suddenly yesterday afternoon you were all positive.

To all the etq watchers
Draw the downtrend line from the top of the chart. It is hit three times so is reliable. Extend the line and then watch the stock carefully to see if it bounces down off the downtrend, or up through the trend, when it will be in a breakout situation provided that volume is higher than normal. The test area will be at approx 6.5p mid price

graph.php?startDate=05%2F08%2F02&period=

ps SH I don`t do slanging matches either but neither do I ramp to suck in unaware punters

snip
just popped into an internet cafe to have a rest from the beach and blazing sun ( and the kids ).

it is a common misconception that when someone wins on a stock, another loses. that case could be argued for a stock such as this, but is generally not true. a share that forever varies between , say , 3p and 5p and never breaks from these prices ( up or down ) would be a candidate. if you look at share prices for a stock over a year for example, there are often long up or down trend periods.
