Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

halifax...which is why I put the 'Toroa' rider in.

chav - 15 Jun 2010 11:47 - 1792 of 6294

Interesting deciding on how Toroa will have an effect on RKH

Toroa successful and people may sell RKH, causing drop back in sp, and buy into FOGL.

Toroa duster and RKH would take a regional drop despite not being connected HC area's. RKH drop shouldn't be that big given the different drilling locations and then RKH follow straight on with the OG drilling Ernest or flow testing Sealion which should recover the sp.

cynic -sounds like fun in France. I'm off for a few laps on four wheels at the Le Mans Classic in the Austin Healey next month

one of my fellow veloistes has a couple of venerable bentleys, though of the touring rather than straight-6 variety .... i enjoy driving, but really can't be arsed even with washing the damn things

Proselenes - 16 Jun 2010 00:27 - 1801 of 6294

Sea Lion alone, flow tested at the current P50 is worth 720p in the ground.

That excludes cash, Ernest, all other prospects etc........

Simple patience, wait, hold fully paid for stock and big rewards are coming.

Do not forget, all the same names were agreeing to sell at 90p, and again at 180p, and at 230p...... they were all wrong before and will be wrong again.

halifax - 16 Jun 2010 01:31 - 1802 of 6294

pp don't forget the environmentalist lobby, revised regulation is likely to affect future drilling.

Proselenes - 16 Jun 2010 02:25 - 1803 of 6294

halifax, RKH are not drilling in the GoM or the USA.

Barrack Osama can scream all he wants, the rest of the world does not care at all.

cynic - 16 Jun 2010 07:35 - 1804 of 6294

exactly so, and though south atlantic is a very harsh master indeed, the wells are not deemed to be that deep - and it'll be 5 years before any oil starts flowing

Proselenes - 16 Jun 2010 12:23 - 1805 of 6294

Brought some more today. Was keeping a pot of money in case the likely FOGL duster happens and there is a RKH dip for an hour or so, but then given I will probably miss a short term dip I decided to spend half the pot now and buy more as its back near 280p again.

halifax - 16 Jun 2010 12:40 - 1806 of 6294

pp you appear to have forgotten the penguins also known as rockhoppers! Ignore environmentalists at your peril.

halifax - 16 Jun 2010 15:41 - 1807 of 6294

sp slowly slipping.

HARRYCAT - 16 Jun 2010 16:04 - 1808 of 6294

If FOGL hit a duster, RKH will briefly take a hit, imo. Am thinking of putting a limit buy on the system, but can't decide the correct price. Maybe somewhere around 240/220p. If FOGL hits a gusher then it won't trigger anyway. Am unfortunately locked out of FOGL as not prepared to buy at 198p, so this seems the best way of taking advantage of possible bad news.

markymar - 16 Jun 2010 18:20 - 1809 of 6294

Halifax your deramping the wrong share it should be your BOR shares as its targets are all deep water and need a drill ship or rig that can drill to those depths.

Maybe why they have no EIS as they are not going to be able to drill hence the shares in BOR should be worth 2op

Harry

RKH have hit oil and FOGL hitting a duster will do little to the share prices as it means its coming to RKH to flow test or drill Ernest next which means the share price will rise.

Trying to deramp this share makes you both look foolish.

halifax - 16 Jun 2010 18:46 - 1810 of 6294

marky can't speak for harry but our opinion is some profit taking would be sensible after such a rapid rise in the sp,as you will no doubt agree there are still many questions to be answered. There is some potential upside but we would rather have some profit in the bank than risk a costly disappointment.
