NOP up nicely today, hit a peak of 14.5p before dropping back a bit to 14p, up 4.7%, but looking better again as we head towards IOW drilling in 2 weeks time.

Also the deals like Holland, and the nice licences last week, show this company is moving fast towards big things, and I think there is a lot of upside to be realised.

Cheers,
PM

I posted the following on other websites yesterday morning after I'd spoken to the Planning Office on the IOW. I thought readers here would be interested - especially NeilsJensen.
=================QUOTE=========
Just got off the phone from a very helpful IOW Planning Officer. As promised here is the outcome:

Planning matters are proceeding well[!] and the application for the drilling of Sandhills-3 [Application ref: P/00390/05] should be approved shortly, together with extensions to the dates for the Sandhills-2 borehole [P/00924/04] and Bouldnor Copse [P/01573/04].

So we should soon have an announcement from NOP regarding revised planning dates. [Hopefully accompanied by the arrival of Rig#28 on site - but that's just me wishing!!!]

Hi All,

NOP far to go until IOW drilling starts, with the '3 week' notice being 1 week ago today, that leaves 2 weeks to go.

You can't win it, if your not in it.

That's the second time you talk about an "IOM drilling"; what is it?

paulmasterson1 - 07 Jul 2005 20:14 - 191 of 567

Niels Hi,

It means I keep getting my IOW and IOM mixed up :))))

Thats what comes from having an office in IOM !

LOL !!!!

Paul.

Are you on drugs? You "sound" awfully like a certain manic poster on the afd threads at advfn a little while ago.

paulmasterson1 - 09 Jul 2005 15:03 - 194 of 567

Max Hi,

No, and no.

11 July 2005

Northern Petroleum Plc

('Northern' or the 'Company')

Isle of Wight Planning Permission Extension

The Company announces that the Isle of Wight Council has granted an extension
to the existing permission, on the Sandhills-2 site, until 31 March 2006, in
order to allow for adequate long-term testing following the delayed start to
drilling operations.

The Isle of Wight Council has also granted permission for the drilling of an
extra bore-hole, Sandhills-3, on the site. This is in anticipation of the need
to follow up a successful Sandhills-2 appraisal well.

Nice !

At 15p we had a headline, saying traders were amazed that the price had not gone higher, as they are very undervalued.

Will we get back to 15p this week, after yesterdays announcement ?

Cheers,
PM

A bit quiet here.

I have nicked some images of the missing rig 28, captured by Springhead and posted on advfn today. He also says that it looks like they are packing up, ready for the move....problem is, we know not where.

At last!

LONDON (AFX) - Northern Petroleum PLC said it has been told by British Drilling and Freezing Ltd that it is preparing to move its rig no 28 to the Sandhills-2 site on the Isle of Wight.

Sandhills-2 lies around 1 kilometre to the south of Sandhills-1, which was drilled in 1982 by British Gas.

Following the drilling at Sandhills-2, the rig will be moved for further drilling at the Bouldnor Copse-1 site near Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight.
