this has to be about the only high street or restaurant stock to be invested in

HARRYCAT - 17 Feb 2009 14:55 - 184 of 841

Sadly it totally fell off my radar until someone phoned me this morning to tell me of the results and sp rise. Company is doing well & maybe worth getting on board. Back on my watch list.

cynic - 17 Feb 2009 15:22 - 185 of 841

i used to have and to follow too, but have not bought any high street or related stocks for some time

justyi - 14 Apr 2009 17:38 - 186 of 841

Domino Pizza is not going up at all despite being a good defensive

one of two restaurant companies i like - other is RTN - though have not been following for a while

HARRYCAT - 20 Jul 2009 11:33 - 189 of 841

It fell off my radar also, which is a shame as the sp has done very nicely recently.
Looks like 2nd half year sales won't be so strong, so have missed the boat this time.

20/07/09 Seymour Pierce has a buy for Domino’s Pizza, a buy and 2.40p

Clubman3509 - 21 Jul 2009 10:04 - 191 of 841

Doing good

cynic - 01 Oct 2009 08:17 - 193 of 841

this used to be a fave of mine, but confess had completely forgotten about them - silly billy! ..... absolutely first class company, as i posted in feb when sp was dithering around 200

jj50 - 01 Oct 2009 08:24 - 194 of 841

Same as you cynic. Sold my original holding for a nice profit while still an AIM listed share. Had put a few in the SIPP last year and sold those this morning. Shall look to buy again on weakness. The winter TV programmes - X Factor, Strictly seem to do this share no harm :-)

Clubman3509 - 01 Oct 2009 09:06 - 195 of 841

Out this morning, maybe it will rise more but I am happy with 40% profit over the last 12 months.

Stan - 01 Oct 2009 09:43 - 196 of 841

And so you should be, well done.

HARRYCAT - 02 Dec 2009 09:08 - 197 of 841

I thought we had all decided that company buyback schemes did the private investor no favours at all? Sp falling off a cliff & presumably being shorted down to......? (240?)

Business Financial Newswire
"Domino's Pizza has confirmed that trading is continuing to trade strongly and the Board says it is confident of meeting the market's current expectations for the full year.

The Company has stated that it intends to repurchase up to 6m shares at a maximum price of 292p per share.

The tender offer closes on 11 December 2009 and represents approximately 3.7% of the issued share capital of the Company. "

cynic - 02 Dec 2009 09:14 - 198 of 841

very good company; strong management; consistently excellent results - haven't held for a while, but certainly worth checking out again

skinny - 02 Dec 2009 11:45 - 199 of 841

Harry - the original tender offer (mid November?) was for 317 a share - but it got pulled!

just goes to show that sometimes you just can't please the market ...... must just be some "selling on the news", so a chance to jump in if this company has appeal ..... it certainly does to me, even though i have not held for some time.

i may also take another look at RTN, which to my mind, rather falls into the same category as DOM, even if it is proper restaurants rather than take-away

skinny - 16 Feb 2010 08:56 - 202 of 841

A bit of a shake earlier - nice if you caught it!
