Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

HEY.............lol

Proselenes - 20 Jun 2010 01:30 - 1832 of 6294

cynic, a broken clock is right twice per day.

BB (who I have on squelch so I no longer have to read or see the nonsense posted) was screaming sell RKH at 90p and how bad it was and how overvalued.

This person (and another) has scream sell and overvalued all the way up.

They have been wrong, embarrassingly so, and still cannot just accept how wrong they have been.....

Never mind....... :)

HARRYCAT - 20 Jun 2010 09:22 - 1833 of 6294

I think Cynic means BB (British Bulls as per marky's post ) not Bb!

cynic - 20 Jun 2010 14:54 - 1834 of 6294

quite so ..... i only ever rib young Emu (Balerboy), as he is such a sensitive soul that he is always likely to collapse in a flood of tears if anyone is nasty

Proselenes - 20 Jun 2010 15:00 - 1835 of 6294

I have Bb squelched and so cannot read any post, I just see missing posts (eg the post count goes from 30 to 32 and so I do not see what was in post 31.

Never mind, same applies, broken clock is right twice a day.........

I like their recommendation, "Dig Deep and Hold On".

Exactly what I am doing, buying more, fully paid for and holding for the long term, for the big rewards to come.

This week: Tangent on the straight and narrow, Rockhopper bounds ahead and there are no spots on Lipoxen

.............Rockhopper Exploration (RKH 284.5p / 498.4m)

We last wrote about Rockhopper, the North Falkland Basin oil and gas exploration company, back in February of this year. Since then the company has had the fortune of an oil discovery at its Sea Lion exploration well, which is 100 per cent owned- current estimates of the discovery are that 242 million barrels of oil are recoverable from the well. Last week the company made a placing to raise 48.5m with shares priced at 280 pence, which is intended to be used to further the North Falkland basin campaign through the drilling of an exploration well on its Ernest prospect and flow testing of the Sea Lion exploration well. The company has demonstrated excellent progress since its inception in 2004, and we see this continuing well into the future. Dig deep and hold on to this one.....................

Not long till RKH get the Rig back so expect an upturn soon....anyone know where I can buy some hindsight?!

HARRYCAT - 21 Jun 2010 14:46 - 1842 of 6294

That was my theory Cynic (Page 91) but got shot down in flames as the recent institutional investors would be p*ssed off if it fell that far (they bought at 280p)! My target was 240/220p level, but concede that is probably a little optomistic.

RKH are being touted by some here as a one way bet, and there's no denying from the info available it looks extremely compelling, and I hope for all those who hold, the promoters of RKH are right, and it really does come good, nonetheless a degree of caution wouldn't go amiss imo. No offence meant to anyone here, just my view.

Hi George,

As one who is very optimistic re RKH but also as one who always retains some caution, I totally agree.

Proselenes - 22 Jun 2010 09:58 - 1845 of 6294

RKH doing a number of "one to one" sessions with institutions et al today (reported in the FT).

Amongst other things likely the start of the serious issue about moving off of AIM and on to the FTSE 250.

Expect a few broker notes out today and tomorrow perhaps........

Proselenes - 22 Jun 2010 13:49 - 1846 of 6294

CGT only up 10%. Should be lots of people coming back into RKH in early July, those who sold out early June and who have waited the 31 days for CGT purposes. Should be a stream of people coming back in all through July.

'Rockhopper Exploration dropped 2.8 per cent to 274p as retail investors booked profits before todays emergency budget, at which the chancellor will detail his plans to raise capital gains tax.

Separately, Canaccord Genuity is to host a lunch and a series of one-to-one meetings for Rockhopper today with more than a dozen institutions.'

markymar - 22 Jun 2010 14:21 - 1847 of 6294

Proselenes what is the CGT if you held a shares more than 2 years is it still 18% or has that changed?

greekman - 22 Jun 2010 14:31 - 1848 of 6294

Markymar,

Just in case Proselenes is busy, it's not changed, still 18% unless you are a higher rate tax payer then it is 28%. No taper ex cetera.
