........."And so to our traditional "wild card". Pipex Communications, formerly known as GX Networks, is a telecoms company created by one of the entrepreneurs behind Ukbetting, Peter Dubens. It has been assembled from six smaller players. The ambitious company is generating cash for the first time but is still not widely followed in the City. It could be an undiscovered gem".

Perhaps the Homecall acquisition is weighing down sentiment, as far as T/O rumours go, I can't see anyone coming to buy PXC until Homecall has been or is seen to be bedding down successfully, all imo of course.

At best PXC has gone very sleepy ..... Thought about dumping all, but decided to keep some on the betting that surely something must happen there some time .... surely!?

m0dulos i gave a specific answer to a question at the time of the question they were down,i answered DOWN if they had been up at that time i would have said in my reply UP? .As along term view i can only see these shares rising slowly, far to much competition in this sector ,when consolidation becomes more of an issue, sooner rather than latter i hope well who would guess what these shares might achieve, yes as you can see i do hold these shares, and i am comfortable to buy in again.JIM.

Notwithstanding my previous post 1843, I see that 02 are looking to enter the broadband market rumoured to be bulldog/tiscali, it's not inconceivable that they may cast their eyes over PXC imo.

Some biggish buys going through, sp static but with so many shares in issue I suppose it will take a bit of shifting.

Deutsche Bank or similar have just increased their stake to 20%, but though I think PXC are cheap at this level, I am struglling to convince my self to buy them ... again!

Very heavy volume + ticking steadily upward, even yesterday ...... 200 MDA just below 11.50, so expect some resistance then, but all looking promising again .... Note too my previous post re 20% holding
Wishful thinking (big time!) is that someone is putting together an offer

Already hold some, but if the markets look right this afternoon, I am tempted to top up as price looks pretty sharp to me.

For what it is worth 8.0-8.5 is right at the botom of Bollinger Band, but there looks to be pretty strong reistance at just under 11.50 where 50 and 200 MDAs cross.
Meanwhile, FTSE continues strongly and Dow is teetering on the so-called key number of 10940 ...... Give it an hour and see what has happened

because i'm a barrow-boy at heart, i can't get myself to pay 8.75, but 8.50 will do and shall wait and watch ...... at that level, i think a lot of price war with Carphone Warehouse is factored in (or out if you like) and there is always the pretty good chance of a t/o in due course
