5 Jan'10 - Speedy Hire firms up Middle East agreement

Speedy Hire has signed a five-year strategic services agreement with Al Futtaim Carillion, support services group Carillion's joint venture in the Middle East and North Africa.

The formal agreement follows signing of a memorandum of understanding in July 2009.

The group says the agreement means its International Asset Services Division is on track to deliver exit run rate turnover at March 2010 of more than 10m, in line with previous guidance.

Speedy Hire will become AFC's exclusive provider of light plant and equipment across the Middle East and North Africa. It will also provide management and logistical services using its new IT and business process platforms.

Under a separate agreement with AFC, Speedy has acquired light plant and other assets from the JV for 4.1m cash, taking its overall investment to around 8.5m.

HARRYCAT - 08 Feb 2010 16:22 - 27 of 40

Business Financial Newswire
"Panmure Gordon reassesses its forecast assumptions for Speedy Hire ahead of the update next Monday (Feb 15), increasing its profit forecast to March 2011 from 5.0m to 6.6m based on increasing contributions from the Middle East.

'We believe UK markets remain relatively stable, though any sustained improvement could prove fragile over the short term.

'Nevertheless, we believe confirmation of these trends and ongoing expansion overseas now begins to put Speedy more on the front foot, which is something we have not been able to say for some time.'

results coming next week, any thoughts on which direction this may go, currently reistance at around 35-36p, will this get to 41 or go back to 26 ?

HARRYCAT - 07 Jun 2010 16:21 - 35 of 40

Worth buying at this level, imo. Target 34 - 36p.

pumben - 30 Jun 2010 20:35 - 36 of 40

any thoughts behind the continual drop, I apprecaite that the whole market is dire but this has broken through the 25p resistance level. Is it possibly linked to the cuts announced by the govt last week e.g. less infrstructure work ?

HARRYCAT - 20 Jul 2010 08:22 - 37 of 40

StockMarketWire.com
"Speedy Hire plc, the equipment hire group, reported sales in the three months to 30 June 2010 were down 0.7%, against the corresponding period last year.

At the UK and Ireland Asset Services division, which constitutes 95% of the Group, monthly year-on-year comparisons have also gradually improved in the first quarter.

Revenue in June 2010 was only slightly behind the same month in the prior year and exceeded 30m for only the second time since July 2009.

Net debt at the end of last week was 134.9m. Cash generation continues to be a key area of focus.

Overall, Speedy are trading in line with expectations, but improvements are dependent on a construction sector recovery and therefore they remain cautious. "

HARRYCAT - 13 Aug 2010 13:47 - 38 of 40

I wonder if this (& AHT) are worth picking up at these very low levels ready for the anticipated pick up in business in 2011/2?
