Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

I thought the aim of everyone here and other boards was to make money, there are bound to be differences of opinion, ie bulls and bears, instead of resorting to slanging matches, why don't all parties concerned channel their views with the intention to elicit reasons for their bullish/bearish views. Thus making a balanced view on which to base any decision to buy/sell or hold. Without wishing to offend anyone, I believe this is, in the main what Markymar and Proselenes have tried to do.

The only person that is slanging is Prosels.......all you can post on here to his or (her) is positive notes, as soon as anybody has any doubts you get the above posts....how many negative things have I posted ?, hardly any....he's on every hour, like a nutter !.

No matter how many charts and calculations people come up with, I think everyone of us use "gut" feeling to gauge the way the sp will go. Cynic is one that admits openly to using such instinct and mostly succeeds but doesn't get slanged on the thread for saying so. My comments were not de-ramping, just gut feeling and haven't got as many shares now in RKH as I might of done. Thats life and I can live with it but should I stay quiet for my beliefs....sorry can't do that...might be right one day..lol

Shopping down at my local Argos store, waiting for my order to appear from the bowels of the earth, is never going to be quite the same!

Had not thought of it quite like that, Harrycat...

Sometimes I'm wandering through a supermarket thinking....how many people here are "au fait" as to Rockhopper and co....perhaps quite a few it seems....

This is all FOGL's fault. If they hadn't delayed news, we wouldn't all be bored waiting for drill results. Awesome franglais guys!

RF a vaincre sans pil, on triomphe sans gloire.

cynic - 09 Jul 2010 11:00 - 1943 of 6294

a bit more profit banked (sold 25%) ..... i expect FOGL to disappoint (don't hold now) which will drag all others with it ..... shall prob then buy back ..... if by some fluke FOGL hits paydirt, still no harm done

HARRYCAT - 09 Jul 2010 11:10 - 1944 of 6294

I concur. Have freed up some cash & now a waiting game. Will buy more RKH if it dips.

Proselenes - 09 Jul 2010 12:32 - 1947 of 6294

They are still going for Ernest to be next, and given they spoke to RKH management yesterday it looks like its Ernest next, Sea Lion flow test to follow. Shame really, but hey ho.

E Ok. Anything more smallcappish?
NH hang on
NH the sector watcher has been busy
NH he saw Rockhopper yesterday

Rockhopper Exploration Plc (RKH:LSE): Last: 328.00, up 5 (+1.55%), High: 328.00, Low: 321.75, Volume: 1.33m

NH and he was very impressed

NH

We saw RKH management yesterday, who confirmed that the Ernest exploration prospect is likely to be the next to be drilled on its northern Falklands acreage, once the Ocean Guardian rig is released by FOGL/BHP later this month. The result of the FOGL/BHP Toroa-1 prospect, a giant structure with the potential to contain 1.7bn barrels of oil, is expected imminently

RKHs Ernest well is targeting a 156m barrel prospect with a Chance of Success (COS) of 23%, although this may have been derisked somewhat by the success of the recent 242m barrel Sea Lion discovery. On similar metrics to Sea Lion, Ernest could be worth around 280p/share. Following the 30-35 days expected to drill Ernest, the rig will then demobilise and move back to Sea Lion, where the original well will then be re-enterred in anticipation of a testing programme, due to take 45 days to complete. Two separate zones will be tested, with each zone likely to be tested twice, hence this is a relatively slow job. We therefore expect definitive news on the producability of the reservoir by early to mid September. We have a total NAV of 563p/share, which includes 441p/share for Sea Lion and 122p/share for cash and risked upside continue to BUY Rockhopper.

Right, ...own up ; which one you nicked the penguin from the Dublin zoo...?.....thought you might "pick up a penguin" possibly ?....RKH mascot perhaps ?...

Proselenes - 09 Jul 2010 15:11 - 1949 of 6294

Looks highly likely FOGL will announce a duster soon.

At this juncture its worth going over something.

FOGL operate in the SOUTH BASIN. The SOUTH BASIN has nothing to do with the NORTH BASIN where RKH operate.

The BASIN's are not linked in any way in terms of oil and gas generation and therefore what happens in the South does not effect the North.

The NFB (North Falklands Basin) is proven to be oil and gas bearing and that is where RKH operate.

In the event FOGL have a duster (as it seems likely now) the implications are only for BOR and FOGL, it has no effect at all on RKH or the North Basin.

cynic - 09 Jul 2010 15:14 - 1950 of 6294
