Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

Looks like pretty much even buys v sells traded so far, so maybe sp will drift once the hype is over?

Harry, in that case you should sell some of everything you have, as anything could happen to all of them, at anytime, so is it best to sell everything now ?
That was a silly thing to say Proselenes , Harry was talking about locking in profit not selling at a lost or at a small profit but shares that have shot up 50%+ in a matter of weeks.

aldwickk, that would be even more stupid unless you quantify and qualify.
RKH is vastly undervalued. A flow tested 242M P50 find is worth around 750p a share. The company has other prospects, not least the pending Ernest well.
With such a vast undervaluation and with so much in the months ahead WHY would you sell ?
If you are going to sell "just in case" than surely you must sell everything "just in case", in particular the ones with nothing going on as they will be higher risk "just in case" something happens.
Why do people constantly promote "taking a profit" rather then "taking a loss before it becomes an even bigger loss" ?
I always see people stating "hang on in for the recovery" - but then the same people say "take a profit and bank it".
Its utter nonsense unless you apply guidelines and proper research on whichever stock you are talking about.

PROS - you are right that we all tend to to suffer from micawberism with loss-making shares ..... however, there is nothing remotely wrong with banking profits, as it is only when in the bank that a profit can be truthfully adjudged
whether or not your assessment of RKH's value is even remotely correct remains to be seen ....... even if it is, RKH will inevitably be a volatile stock - see the likes of TLW, PMO, CNE

RKH is already getting ahead of itself....so far it has proved to be a super stock, but the costs of getting anything out of the sea floor will be staggering....probably a farm in or such might be on the cards, but we are years away from that.....in time it could be worth 10 or so but we are also a long way from achieving the tenner.....the value in the ground has to be discounted by a hefty margin when compared to the sp value which is always much lower.

RF, how many times do you need to be told.
Based on suitable discounts a flow tested Sea Lion with P50 242M barrels recoverable is worth over 700p IN THE GROUND.
Can you understand that, do you need to be told 10 times every week ?
LOL :)
And of course there is Ernest to be drilled next plus a whole host of other prospects that are now significantly derisked :)
From someone who said sell at 95p saying RKH was overvalued, then to be honest, you have not got a clue how to value RKH, so please, stop trying to :) !

rf...perhaps you could suggest what the costs of getting the Oil out of the sea floor are and what the value of the product will be, so that we can make an informed decision, when buying/selling...look forward to your results.

"Furthermore, our recently updated economic model indicates that a stand alone field of 60mmbbls recoverable could be commercial at oil prices down to US$50 per barrel.".....how big will sealion prove to be after the flow test?
"RPS Energy Best Estimate recoverable upgraded from 170mmbbls to 242mmbbls recoverable with significant upside potential"

Love the plan Marky...thanks....perhaps I should carry on as this brings out some great info from you lot......be in no doubt as to great cost for extraction....but it will be worthwhile.....If they have another find like Sealion then 5 minimum......you see even I can be optimistic but not way over the top !.

rf...those that are into RKH have been supplying figures and facts to try and support their opinion on why the sp should keep climbing....U on the other hand don't supply anything to support the negative slant.
Anyone that buys into ANY stock should be aware of the pitfalls and then decide if the risk is worth it. I personally think that RKH is still a strong buy at these prices based on the figures I have seen.

chav, RF sold at 95p and screamed it was overvalued, and has been ever since, all the way up.
Sadly RF has not got the slightest clue how to value RKH and so you can simply ignore these outbursts if you like, its nonsense and just RF being petty and green eyed with jealousy ;)

while it is true that there will be serious problems in getting the oil out and moving from here, the same could be said of TLW's massive find in uganda ...... it becomes an irrelevance, for if the company does not have the money, there will be plenty of others queuing up to relieve them of that problem
