minster pharm (MPM)

kathraw - 23 Jan 2007 14:18

anyone know the reason for the jump today??

kathraw - 06 Mar 2007 14:50 - 2 of 7

got a consolidation offer this morning, is this a bad thing??

kimoldfield - 06 Mar 2007 18:31 - 3 of 7

Kathraw,
Without consolidation the fundraising would have created an additional 1,307,692,308 shares to those already in existence, far too many! Minster are progressing reasonably well but obviously need more cash now, and will probably need more in future; it is a pity that shareholders were not given the opportunity to subscribe for some of the shares that are being taken up, though it is better for Minster if they can have an institutional buyer take large chunks. As for the consolidation itself, whilst it may make Minster's shares look more 'respectable' I have never been a fan of consolidation, the smaller shareholdings get wiped out and it feels the same to me as Gordon Brown's stealth taxes! I'm not sure that I go along with the Boards' belief that:-
"A proposed share consolidation of one new Ordinary Share of 5p each for every fifty Existing Ordinary Shares of 0.1p to improve the potential liquidity by reducing the bid/offer spread in the Existing Ordinary Shares, which the Board believes currently hinders trading."

MM's create the bid/offer spread, not Minster's Board!

I think the placing/consolidation are a foregone conclusion and I am reasonably confident that the company will survive to bring their drugs to market, the way things stand at present.

thanks for your reply and advice, there dont seem to be many holders of mpm on these boards!!

After the last report that the company has a `rosey' outlook, why then does the sp drop on an almost daily basis now, and down 15% today alone...!!
The way things are going, even if everything comes to fruition with regards Tonabersat, the sp will only realistically rise to the levels it was previously at a year ago, meaning no gains whatsoever for the early investors.....

Any views would be most welcome.....please

Still dropping almost daily........where will this bottom out !!!

tudwick - 06 Jan 2010 11:33 - 7 of 7

.......at a 6p buyout from the looks of it. Yet another stinker gone up the spout. That'll teach me to invest in one trick pony's......
