Rurelec New thread (RUR )

RXCBS - 24 Feb 2012 11:20

We have a breakout now with increased voulme some big trades going through on the assumption we will get good news early March perhaps the fact that the bolivians might settle on the steps so to speak at the Hague as this is going to give them much bad publicity from a FDI point of view they also could do with getting RUR back on board to sort plants out with all the power shortages which are politically bad for the government

Valuation is at least 20p if they settle at $75M and broker thinks this could be as high as 34p with the other shrewd investments in SA

DYOR but there is good momentum and little downside

Rurelec submits Bolivian claim of $142m
StockMarketWire.com
Rurelec, the electricity utility, has submitted its Statement of Claim to the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) in The Hague in the context of its ongoing arbitration against the Plurinational State of Bolivia.

The value of the claim for the expropriation of its controlling share stake in Empresa Guaracachi SA and other associated assets has been assessed by its independent valuation experts at US $142.2 million.

The Government of Bolivia agreed to full transparency relating to documents filed in the arbitration process and the hearings, which will be held in public. The parties are bound by the decision of the arbitration tribunal, which is not appealable on the merits.

In accordance with the process laid down in the 2010 Arbitration Rules of the United Nation Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) and the Tribunal's rulings, if no earlier settlement is reached, the final hearing of the arbitration panel following submission of all written submissions is scheduled for April 2013.

Is the company about to receive its awaited compensation payment from the Bolivian government - equivalent to half the value of the company? Or is the price movement this week just another of its many shortlived spikes?
