Beowulf expands present holdings in Northern Sweden.
Registers new mineral claim hosting large titanium deposit.
London 26 January 2006 : Beowulf Mining PLC (AIM:BEM), the AIM listed mineral
exploration company, with projects in Sweden, announces that the Swedish state
mining authority, Bergsstaten, has registered an exploration permit for Beowulf
for a new area called Ruoutevare, covering a large ore deposit of titanium. The
claim has a total area of 850 hectares and is located in the Caledonides
mountain region, within the Jokkmokk County, approximately 50 km west of
Beowulf's Majves' claims in northern Sweden. (See
www.beowulfmining.com
).
The permit covers the Ruoutevare titaniferous iron deposit, which has been known
of since the 18th century and investigated several times during the last
century. As yet no production has occurred. The investigated part of the deposit
is relatively flat lying, and covers an area of 387,000 m2.
The reserves at the latest study in 1975 by the Geological Survey of Sweden
(SGU) are estimated at 116 million tonnes with an average 38.2% Fe (iron), 5.6%
Ti (titanium) and 0.17% V (vanadium). A richer section of 20 million tonnes is
registered with a grade of 47% Fe, 11% TiO2 and 0.15% V2O5. These figures are
based on 32 drill holes and do not follow present JORC or 43-101 standards.
The mineralization consists of magnetite, ilmenite, spinel and smaller amounts
of pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite and pentlandite. The dominant silicates in the
mineralizations are plagioclase, olivine, pyroxene and garnet. The host rock is
a large, mafic intrusion defined as anorthosite, which locally grades into
gabbro.
Commenting on the news, Dr. Robert Young, Beowulf's Chairman said, 'In the light
of the present demand by various industrial sectors for titanium Beowulf intends
to re-evaluate available data, and will perform additional local studies and
drilling, and hopes to turn the Ruoutevare deposit into a commercial titanium
mine.'

Notes on titanium, market etc:
Titanium is a metal with many special properties. The metal has an excellent
strength to weight ratio and is almost totally resistant to corrosion and
erosion. This makes the metal in great demand by the world's airline industry,
which consumes a major part of the present world production. By using titanium
the airline industry can extend the life of the aeroplanes produced. The present
boom in aircraft building has resulted in a forecast increase in usage of
titanium by the civilian airline industry from an estimated 29,000 tonnes in
2004 to 48,000 tonnes by 2008.
Because of its unique biocompatible properties titanium is also increasingly
used by the medical sector. The metal has a large range of applications as an
effective material for the manufacturing of hip prosthesis, cardiac pacemakers,
artificial jaws, etc. The outstanding strength to weight ratio of titanium has
also opened up a new and fast growing market with its usage by the sport sector
for manufacturing heads and shafts for golf clubs.
Titanium as titanium oxide (TiO2) is used by the chemical industry. It is a
white pigment, which is used in paints, paper and plastics.
The metal is not traded on metal bourses but is sold by local producers, who
determine the price. The worlds' largest titanium producer is the Russian
company VSMPO- Avisma. The price of one kilogram of pure titanium plate is today
approximately 20 USD or about 6-7 times that of stainless steel. With special
alloys the price of titanium plates is much higher.

RUOTEVARE PERMIT
Beowulf Mining plc has been awarded an exploration permit for the Ruotevare licence in Sweden, which contains a titaniferous iron deposit, discovered in the 18th century. The deposit, in Jokkmokk County, was estimated in 1975 by the Swedish Geological Survey to contain a higher grade zone of 20 million tons at 47% iron,11% Ti02 and 0.15% V205 within a much larger body. Dr. Robert Young, Beowulf's executive chairman, told Mining Journal this week that the company plans to commission a consultant to produce a full feasibility study on the higher-grade zone

BEOWULF MINING PLC
NEWS RELEASE
Beowulf Mining plc (AIM:BEM), the AIM listed mineral exploration company,
announces that it has been gifted 5,000,000 ordinary 1p shares in All Star
Minerals PLC (All Star).
All Star is a company with 30,000,000 ordinary shares in issue, of which the
directors are currently Bruce Rowan and Dr Robert Young who is also Managing
Director of Beowulf. Dr Robert Young is interested in 5,900,000 ordinary shares
of All Star and Bruce Rowan is interested in the remaining 19,100,000 ordinary
shares. The directors of All Star intend for All Star to obtain an OFEX Listing
and become involved in the exploration and development of thorium, an element
that the directors believe is the near-term future of nuclear fuel.
In the February 2005 US Geological Survey annual report on rare earths it said
on page seven that, "In the future, thorium's use as a non proliferative nuclear
fuel is considered a likely replacement for uranium, especially in a world
concerned with the threat of terrorism. As demand for thorium increases,
monazite would resume its role as a leading source of rare earths."
Thorium was first discovered in 1828 by the Swedish chemist, Jons Jakob
Berzelius, who named the metal after Thor, the Norse god of war. Thorium, which
is represented on the periodic table by the symbol Th, has been recognised for
its ability to power reactors since nuclear energy emerged in the 1950s. Thorium
makes up around 0.0007% of the earth's crust, making it roughly three times more
abundant in the earth's crust than uranium, its more radioactive counterpart.
However, thorium has been largely ignored for nuclear energy due to its atoms
being difficult to split, which is the fundamental requirement of a fission
reactor.
Thorium is composed of a common single stable isotope, 232Th, which can absorb
neutrons and convert to 233U (uranium-233). From this point 233U undergoes
fission to generate energy. As well as generating power, a further advantage
from using thorium is the significantly lower level of transuranic waste that is
produced compared to a reactor powered by uranium or plutonium.

The old proverb - look before you leap - comes into play here.
Listening to the talk in the city seems to lead me to buy or keep, with talk of production in the near term.
The price has got to be on the way up up, and this is a great price to buy at.

Beowulf have engaged swowdens to complete a feasability study. Ruoutevare is thier most likely candidate, with very promising results. Bob Young is a quiet master in his field, underestimate him at your own finicial peril.
He's also involved with a company called 'All Star Minerals', who are currently only listed on offex but are moving to AIM shortly. They are specializing in thorium. If youve never heard of write back, the future is thoriuim.

marc3254,
So you're saying thay have "engaged swowdens to complete a feasability study", and also "talk of production in the near term".
I would have thought they may wait for the feasability study to confirm what they think, then presumably they have to construct a mine of some sort, and cost it and fund it.
So my definition of "near term", and yours may vary somewhat.
I won't comment on "All Star Minerals" due to my thoughts on the age and inexperience of the COO.

Our of thier projects to are looking good Ruoutevare and Grundtrask. I look forward to seeing your posts in the near future.
Incidently near term in my mind is within one year.

BEOWULF MINING PLC
Technical Review of Ruoutevare Titanium Iron Deposit, Northern Sweden, by
Snowden Mining Industry Consultants Ltd.
Drilling in September 2006 to Re-sample the Deposit to support JORC- Compliant
Resource Report
11 July 2006. In March 2006, Beowulf Mining PLC (AIM- BEM) the AIM-quoted
mineral exploration company was granted an exploration permit by the Swedish
state mining authority (Bergsstaten) for the Ruoutevare area in the Jokkmokk
County of northern Sweden. A previous resource estimate carried out by the
Geological Survey of Sweden (Sveriges Geologiska Undersoknning -'SGU') in 1975
reported a resource of 116 Mt of material averaging 38% iron, 5.6% titanium and
0.17% vanadium based on 32 drill holes. A richer section of 20 Mt is registered
with a grade of 47% iron, 10% titanium and 0.14% vanadium.
Snowden Mining Industry Consultants Limited ('Snowden') has completed a
technical review of the previous work and has also undertaken a preliminary
geostatistical analysis of the drill holes to support the preparation of a
JORC-compliant resource report.
Snowden concluded that the volumes, tonnages and average grades of the 116 Mt
resource are of the order of magnitude reported by the SGU in 1975. However they
cannot be regarded as being equivalent to a JORC-compatible Inferred Resource.
Snowden has therefore suggested additional work, which includes re-drilling of
holes as well as the drilling of additional, closer spaced, drill holes to
assess the deposit. Ten to twelve drill holes are suggested and these are
planned for September 2006. If this work confirms the previous estimates and
produces a JORC compliant resource report, Snowden recommends the preparation of
a detailed scoping / pre-feasibility report for the project. If the latter is
successful they recommend the completion of a full feasibility study for the
project.
Commenting on the report, Dr. Robert Young, Chairman of Beowulf, states 'the
directors are very encouraged and are looking forward to a successful drilling
campaign leading to a scoping / pre- feasibility study on the Ruoutevare deposit
(Ruoutevare when translated into English means 'iron mountain'). The Company has
sufficient existing resources for the drilling campaign'.

mrc3254,
You're starting to become personal now, always a bad sign!, so please leave out this type of comment. ok?
"I think your secretly gutted that you sold out on them, just a little to early.
Our of thier projects to are looking good Ruoutevare and Grundtrask. I look forward to seeing your posts in the near future."
The price is LOWER than when I sold, so just why I would be "gutted" I'm not sure!
Beowulf have quite a few projects in Sweden, and they have all looked like this new one, in terms of readiness at some point, and yet they move on to the next one, and the next one.
With regards to your "within one year" comment, I thik that looks challenging if you read this statement from the RNS you quote.
"If this work confirms the previous estimates and produces a JORC compliant resource report, Snowden recommends the preparation of a detailed scoping / pre-feasibility report for the project. If the latter is successful they recommend the completion of a full feasibility study for the project."
I count two "if's" there,so it's not a gimmee by any chalk IMO.
I have met and like Bob Young, but I think he made an error of judgement with Agricola with his bringing in a totally inexperienced and very young student, (and the accompanying allegations that are in the public domain!) has tainted the market's perception of all his companies.
Agricola has bombed, and I sold Beowulf as I feared a knock on effect.
