Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

chav, I have Balerboy SQUELCHED, which means I do not see their posts at all. I highly recommend using the SQUELCH feature for troublesome posters, whoever they are.

Click the link, put their name in the box and then click "Squelch" and you will never see their posts again.

Its bliss ! :)

This is the FOGL area & map, but it is confusing without overlaying the RKH map which I haven't been able to do yet.

DES/RKH are to the North of the FI's with the Southern part called the Southern Basin on the above chart.

FOGL/BOR are to the South & East of the FI's and it is called the South Falklands basin.

Balerboy - 13 Jul 2010 13:39 - 2018 of 6294

Just done that harry, it was the reference to southern basin that threw me.

Chav.. your usual knowledgable self. may the force be with you.,.

cynic - 13 Jul 2010 14:21 - 2021 of 6294

i confess i join BB in bewilderment about Ernest, though i grant you one does not see its proximity to the failed Toroa site ..... or is Toroa off the map to the east?

chav - 13 Jul 2010 14:35 - 2022 of 6294

Toroa is a long way SE of Ernest in a completely different basin and geology

cynic - 13 Jul 2010 14:57 - 2023 of 6294

thanks chav ..... knew i must be a total dawk

chav - 13 Jul 2010 15:01 - 2024 of 6294

I believe we had this discussion a while back Cynic and thought you understood the difference in locations...never mind!

cynic - 13 Jul 2010 15:08 - 2025 of 6294

i stupidly thought that what was notated as southern basin on the header was actually so .... but seemingly it is not so, or if so, just partially so!

Proselenes - 13 Jul 2010 15:21 - 2026 of 6294

If you note in the header there is no FOGL or BOR.

The South Falklands Basin is way down south.

The map in the header is the North Falklands Basin (NFB), the North and South of the NFB.

cynic - 13 Jul 2010 15:29 - 2027 of 6294

cynic - 13 Jul 2010 15:52 - 2029 of 6294
