Hils may well ramp / deramp at times but i find it highly unlikely she would say she is short when not - she has more standing on this site than that

I'm in for the long term anyway. It won't be 17p in 12 months.

Be constructive and say what you think it will be in 12 months. Why do you think it has fallen when the company is the same as it was 2 days ago.

From 1995:
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that the price moved according to the balance of buyers and sellers of the stock. I also thought that the news was merely a catalyst which served to attract buyers and sellers.
If the placing was twice oversubscribed, then surely demand is high. I still don't understand why the price keeps falling.
peck -
you are opening up the first volume of 12 about how and why prices behave as they do, and also assumptions as to whether we have a perfect or imperfect market.
simply speaking, prices are a function of supply and demand and one assumes that the market is efficient. HOWEVER, mkts rarely act as rationally as you expect. in SEY we have market makers who may have off screen orders that may be being worked over a long period and if they are sells, for instance, may inexplicably weigh down the price of a stock.
the unfilled buyers in SEY may be because certain funds applied for double what they expected to recieve on the basis that they had indications that the placement was twice oversubscribed. a very common tactic by institutions. simplistic but is often the reason why in the case of the electricity floats (or any privatisation come to think of it) a few years back everyone subscribed for 10 times what they wanted in the hope of getting a small slice. obviously this is not an IPO but elements of the rationale hold true.
let these sellers get out the way, hold on for news over the next couple of weeks and if you play these long term you will not be disappointed.

Mickey,
Sorry, but I haven't got a clue where it'll be in 12 months and I couldn't really care.

"My Mates" at ADVFN will be impressed that this has turned into one of their bb.'s now!
If it goes short, it is a fantastic buying opportunity, if it goes to 10p, then Fillyaboots!!!!!

You could always report me to Ian.
Will you refer him to the posts where I've been offensive and used bad language? Or just to the posts where I've offered a contrarian opinion?

Hilary, if this was a game of football with two opposing teams, you would be the player on the pitch deliberately kicking the ball out of touch whenever it was passed to you just for the hell of it.
you know what i am laughing right now because i think that is a perfect analogy.
you're right, you are not being offensive, you are just disrupting play.

"My Mates" say this is a perfect buying opportunity.

As I said in previous postings I have really enjoyed the postings here untill now that is. I'm a pretty laid back guy and my motto is 'Love & Peace'.
I find it hard to understand how someone can almost enjoy seeing others loose money just so they can say 'I told you so'.
I didn't realise how easy it was that someone you've never meet or spoken too
could get up you nose.

OK all,
Seems to be getting a little heated on here - can we all calm down a little please? Lets get back onto the subject if we can and not individuals.
Thanks
