I'm still in Tommy. World class prospects for JLP so just a case of sitting tight IMO.

News of a possible coup in Madagascar has caused silence. I sold and am "cooing" all the way to the bank (80% up) I will be back as the long term of the stock still looks good but only without politics

I agree chad. It looks like a potential break-out to me, back to the highs of 98p seen last year. Hope I'm right!

Are we expecting some newsflow soon or is the latent rally just down to the uptick in platinum prices this month?

I'm not sure chad but looking at the chart there's no resistance until 98p.

Here's the newsflow chad:
Jubilee Platinum said its first borehole RAN1 drilled in the Ranomena ultramafic intrusion at Lavatrafo, Madagascar, produced 'very pleasing results' intersecting about 49 metres of continuous platinum group metals (PGM), nickel and copper sulphide mineralisation.
'We are very pleased with these excellent results from this first borehole as we believe that they could be indicative of a major extension to the mineralisation we have already seen in Lavatrafo,' chief executive Colin Bird said.
The company said a second borehole RAN2, some 400 metres north of and along strike of RAN1, has been drilled and results are expected later this month.

When I first picked up these shares back in '05 I heard a price target of 170, but think that was the house broker.

I know that 140p was being touted as "exploration potential" but I'd settle for 170p!

sellers all over the shop today. Resource companies have took it particularly bad with the signs of a slowdown in the chinese economy. Was expecting a correction sooner or later anyway in this stock in particular given the recent rise and in the market in general. Im still in though, although I sold half of my holdings recently at 89p. Lets just hope all the doom and gloom today is just a short-term correction and not the start of a bear market.

Very much short-term. A reaction to South African threats of a windfall tax on all commodities firms as well.

Purchased an interest later last year at 65p following sp weakness and a mention in shares mag. Pleased to see they have broken through the 98p mark queen1 mentions in post 212. I am not an expert miner but, there are probably not too many pure small platinum investments around of this quality. Shares in a good market today, now 100p+. Is there something I have missed?

At last - through the 100p barrier!! What's afoot at present then to push it past this particular psycological level?

Sometimes when a share like this moves up quietly it gives me confidence. I think I will keep this in the old oak chest for now.

Indeed. I bought in a couple of years ago at 40p and very happy to hold at present.
