RF - no one is talking about certainties, but southern basin is (currently) no better than roulette ...... the market doesn't always get it right, but it does most times, and for a while now it has ignored the hype being bandied about and continues to do so ..... perhaps ask yourself why

required field - 27 Mar 2012 09:00 - 204 of 1086

Perhaps I'm being too greedy getting in on the bottom rung as so to speak.....but remember RKH before the sealion strike....the sp was dropping a few pennies every day before that now famous announcement.....I'm taking a risk but compared to rest of my portfolio....only 10% at a guess and that's with BOR and FOGL together.....even if it's just gas this time....that'll be alright....we shall see....the upside is huge....

cynic - 27 Mar 2012 10:52 - 205 of 1086

that's a large % for playing roulette ..... there's always plenty of money to be made after the event

Proselenes - 27 Mar 2012 12:57 - 206 of 1086

Well, I think this will be over 80p at some time next week, and then at the end of the next week we are into potential rumours and news time.

Going to be fun.

required field - 27 Mar 2012 13:54 - 207 of 1086

Any kind of indication of hydrocarbons will send the sp of both BOR and FOGL way over 100p.....now if you check out the maps on their websites : the chances are not bad at all of some kind of a strike in the next few months....

cynic - 27 Mar 2012 17:40 - 208 of 1086

post 206 is spot on .... at the end of the next week we are into potential rumours and news time. though i doubt there will be much news

Balerboy - 27 Mar 2012 20:02 - 209 of 1086

with rf about......plenty of rumours.,.

Well, watch the volume this coming week. Later this coming week is into rumour time and potential for leaks if progress has been good with recent drilling, which there is nothing to suggest it has not.

Over 5 million shares traded is a sure fire sign of someone potentially knowing something and spreading the word, so a keen eye on volume (in the absence of other whole market events) is what I shall be doing now.

cynic - 01 Apr 2012 09:03 - 213 of 1086

rumour is a crap reason to buy except perhaps a very quick trade ..... we have all seen this - heavy volume + spiralling sp -in a number of alleged target stocks over recent months, with severely burnt limbs ensuing when all is found to be illusory

cynic - 01 Apr 2012 10:47 - 214 of 1086

long scaremongering article in telegraph this morning re argentinian threat should keep peeps on their toes tomorrow

Proselenes - 01 Apr 2012 10:59 - 215 of 1086

You mean a regurgitation of the old news from a week or so ago ? LOL.

Thats the Telegraph for you. Of course the article will briefly mention that the Argies have no rights at all to do anything on any basis - but of course, thats not what writing media articles is about is it........... LOL.

The Argies threats have more immediate impact on RKH........ perhaps why its been falling so much of late has RKH............

cynic - 01 Apr 2012 15:03 - 216 of 1086

whatever ..... you keep believing your own hype etc .... for myself, having read the article, i shall stay with rkh and just possibly have a new dabble in fogl ..... bor i shall continue to avoid, though shall not short again

required field - 01 Apr 2012 21:25 - 217 of 1086

I have a risky investment here...but also in FOGL.....two thirds in the latter and the hold your breath one third in BOR plus RKH...(hanging on longterm) with that one and a punt on ARG (getting somehow a rig).....that might have more than RKH (it's possible).....made a loss before but now in for the long term.....

Proselenes - 02 Apr 2012 08:04 - 218 of 1086

cynic, why are you not short again ?

You have been posting how this is a short, how bad it is, how little chance they have of success and yet you are not short ??

That does not really do you any favours if you are happy to slag the company off but have no confidence in what you are writing, as you are scared to short.

cynic - 02 Apr 2012 08:26 - 219 of 1086

because i am not as stupid and greedy as you ......

i made a nice little profit and banked it, for there is always a chance that the present hole will fluke something useful, and sp will then zip away

Shortie - 02 Apr 2012 09:25 - 220 of 1086

They have as much chance striking oil as FOGL, both are drilling two wells and both could make a decent find. I'm in both stocks, however have to date made more money out of BOR than FOGL... Lets hope cynic that your not kicking yourself over the next couple of weeks, if the well comes up dry you'll be saying 'told you so' if it strikes oil then you'll be glad you ended your short. Win, win situation when your posting on threads even if your not making any money!

cynic - 02 Apr 2012 10:05 - 221 of 1086

not at all ..... a profit is a profit, but only when it is in the bank ...... fogl has a far better prospect that bor and, if i am not much mistaken, considerably more cash for drilling ..... on the other hand, if bor do fluke it, then all fi stocks will benefit, including rkh which i do hold

Proselenes - 02 Apr 2012 11:44 - 222 of 1086

Darwin actually has a very good chance of success, higher than RKH's Sea Lion prospect.

This is because Darwin has a "flat spot" which indicates a place where 2 different fluids or gas meet.

A flat spot is like the Holy Grail in wildcat exploration, which is why I have money in BOR and hope for a good result.
