With video search set to be the next big growth area BLNX have the software the likes of Microsoft, Google and NewsCorp would love to have.

In fact BLNX have done deals with most of these, the most recent being the UtargetFox deal which has been reported in the USA but not RNS'd in the UK.

Alexa rankings confirm the continued growth in usage as its viral effect spreads:-

The ITN RNS confirms blnx is the best in the market and is growing fast:-

Leading News Organization ITN Extends Advertising Deal with blinkx Based on Proven Campaign Success

blinkx Selected to Power Advertising across ITN Website and Syndication Partner Sites

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. - July 2, 2008 - blinkx, the world's largest and most advanced video search engine, today announced that it has won an extension contract that will augment the scope of its advertising partnership with ITN, one of the world's leading news and multimedia content companies. Under the terms of the new agreement, ITN will use AdHoc, blinkx's patented contextual advertising platform for online TV and video, to serve advertisements on the ITN website and its syndication partner sites, including Bebo.

Through AdHoc, ITN has already been effectively monetizing its premium news content on the blinkx.com network for over six months. During this time, ITN achieved a significantly better return, greater search volume, and higher monetization through blinkx than through other syndication partners.

AdHoc uses blinkx's patented speech-to-text transcription and visual analysis technology to understand video content more thoroughly and effectively than any other service today, and can therefore dynamically place the most pertinent advertising against it. The AdHoc platform offers media companies and advertisers a unique value proposition -- video advertising which combines the emotive power of TV promotion, with the relevance and utility of contextual search advertising.

The confluence of ITN's premium TV content, blinkx's extensive syndication network, and AdHoc's uniquely powerful targeting capabilities was a formula for success. By extending its partnership with blinkx, ITN aims to achieve similar returns by leveraging the AdHoc platform to deliver contextually relevant video advertising on its own website and across its distribution partner sites.

'We're thrilled to be broadening our relationship with ITN,' said Suranga Chandratillake, founder and CEO of blinkx. 'News content is one of the most popular categories of online video and there's clearly a tremendous opportunity for monetization. The success of our partnership with ITN is evidence that the blinkx AdHoc platform is a uniquely powerful solution for online video advertising today.'

'We've been delighted with the results of our partnership with blinkx and are looking forward to implementing the AdHoc technology on our site,' said Nicholas Wheeler, managing director, ITN On. 'blinkx AdHoc has proven that it can achieve significant monetization of our content, effective marketing for advertisers and, most importantly, a useful, non-disruptive experience for our audience.'

As a pioneer in video search technology, blinkx has built a reputation as the most effective way to search new forms of online content such as video. With more than 350 partners and 26 million hours of indexed video and audio content, including favorite TV moments, news clips, short documentaries, music videos, video blogs and more, blinkx uses advanced speech recognition technology to deliver results that are more accurate and reliable than standard metadata-based keyword searches.

I'd like to know why ,when buys exceeded sells by over 200K on volume of 1.5 million, the stock is down by 2 points.
should have been up by 2.
By my reckoning,it is precisely this sort of perverse logic that has helped put the financial markets into the sorry mess that we are in now.
And as for the joker who was talking about shorting the stock, when the prospects look so good,I don't reckon that any figures ,however good would have satisfied him! The trouble is 'sadly, that there are plenty out there of similar ilk.

jkd - 26 Sep 2008 22:43 - 213 of 6187

oh dear!
theres that buys outweigh sells logic and should be logic again.
i'm now interested to see what happens next.
good luck to you all
regards
jkd

Armageddon really is nigh

Still Waiting - 29 Sep 2008 21:47 - 215 of 6187

tomorrow it is then.

Can you credit it. With all that happened yesterday they decide to have a holiday.

This does show how powerful the jews are in the financial, and political world. Maybe they want to throw us Christians to the lions, or the bears.

cynic - 30 Sep 2008 07:53 - 217 of 6187

How dare you! ..... firstly, Yom Kippur is one of if not the most important holy day (not a damn holiday, but one of fasting) in the Jewish Calendar .... secondly, I would be surprised indeed if the relevant US politicians were not working as hard as any to try to rescue this critical bailout package that has been scuppered by a bunch of totally irresponsible Congressmen ..... I am tempted, but shall resist the temptation to make a similar bigotted slur.

prodman - 30 Sep 2008 08:06 - 218 of 6187

Correction guys- Today (Tuesday 30th) is the Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashanah) :))

Jews celebrated Yom Kippur on the sunset of Wednesday, the 8th of October.

ps: and if your interested: Yom Kippur in 2009 is on Monday, the 28th of September.
A holiday begins on the sunset of the previous day, so observing Jews will celebrate Yom Kippur on the sunset of Sunday, the 27th of September.

This is all riveting stuff I'm sure, but I can't see what it has to do with the price of putty!

cynic - 30 Sep 2008 08:51 - 220 of 6187

cos putty is needed to plug the hole where some congressmen's brains should be!

chessplayer - 30 Sep 2008 08:55 - 221 of 6187

You have got that one right. They certainly seem to have taken leave of their senses .

cynic - 30 Sep 2008 09:45 - 222 of 6187

is there some bright spark out there who can enlighten as to the difference, in the case of BLNX and similar, between a partner and a customer?

chessplayer - 30 Sep 2008 11:57 - 223 of 6187

I believe the partnership refers to some sort of sharing arrangement re advertising revenue, whereas a customer is the one who does the paying for services rendered(i.e. -the advertiser).

cynic - 30 Sep 2008 11:59 - 224 of 6187

so explain how that works with regard to BLNX's partnership with Telegraph, as can't see it

chessplayer - 30 Sep 2008 12:29 - 225 of 6187

I couldn,t see any reference to "customer " in the Telegraph news item of today.

cynic - 30 Sep 2008 12:31 - 226 of 6187

it was something someone posted here the other day that BLNX needed customers more than partnerships ..... if i can find the time, i shall drop an e- to BLNX's PR peeps or similar to ask the question

cynic - 30 Sep 2008 15:49 - 227 of 6187

answers ....
a partner does not pay BLNX any money, but there is a search link between them, thus expanding BLNX's coverage and thus the chance of making money.

a customer is someone who uses BLNX as a search engine and whose "click throughs" or similar generate revenue. Presumably there are advertisers too who will pay BLNX other than just on "click throughs".

interim results will probably be end October or thereabouts, but no date announced yet

Treblewide - 30 Sep 2008 15:56 - 228 of 6187

i mentioned this previously...you do not make money from "partnering" so most of the RNS' about these arrangements make shaft all difference to their revenue streams

cynic - 30 Sep 2008 16:05 - 229 of 6187

not quite true, for just as one should not confuse profit with turnover, you can't make one without the other
