,,,,,Amities / Slt ....,,,, Yes indeed !! Accompanied by the pungent smell of burnt shorters as news of a 12 million placing with a couple of the smallcap specialists of premier institutions was announced ..Bought 10,000 more to add to my 50,000. ( @ 89p) The last time (July 2004 ) that VOG placed 5 m with lnstitutions @ 37p the s/p tested the waters of 58p within days . Lets hope the same percentile gains are to be had here . Good news for both trader and investor alike. For the former - a nice immediate profit . For the latter a strong springboard of support underpinning the s/p . What with a plethora of "mentions" ,here and there, tucked away near the back of all the financial publications recently, culminating in Money Week , "Shares " and lC , i am absolutely convinced somebody knows a lot more than meets the most eagle like of eyed. Volume is not only sustained but rapidly gaining momentum. Many traders and "T+ 10, 15 and 20 "who bought at the recent drop to 78p to 80p will have played the percentages - as traders ALWAYS do - and in doing so today constituted theor own part to the number of sells today . No trader ignores 20% in three days trading . Currently shorters are content to sit on their hands as although Vogs T chart illustates a perfect example of a share totally devoid of eco indicators as to its direction or movement except DOWN .Well doomed actaully .Utterly. People even spoke of 50p and suggested the spread in the s/p made it a remarkably unattractive buy . Due to this variable alone many traders/ participents who had not done thier homework likewise assumed there was only one way, and that was sadly down; and so they sold .Sadly . . . After all, who wants to pay for a companies fund raising exercise ?? Buying and selling shares at a time such as this can prove quite expensive . . Although trading appeared quite quite aimless and listless in a company immersed in an " institutional placing " the s/p proved to be very reilient and strongly resisted 78p . Placing price was debateable as VOG wanted a placing price based on the median past 90 days price . Advisers to buying parties wanted the placement price @ a median of 180 days . Quite understandable really . .What with negotians complete i must admit it was a very upbeat George l spoke too ...."discreetly confident " ,, According to Fox cap whose own chief analyist wrote a very costly recent report which suggested the K. find alone carried an /s/p of 81p to 129p . .. Vog are seen by the consensus of analyists as a " Strong Speculative Buy " with an upside according to certain quaters of 390p to a very agressive, price tag of between 990p and 1092p .... On wedneday i heard through the grapevine that VOG was raising a furthur 12 million and not 5 million as many had predicted and voiced on many boards ..By Wednesdays bell, and with VOG threatening 75p ,i realised that thursday trading would prove the most critical in VOGS short history ; and provide another piece of the jigsaw puzzle so as to initially measure the extent of MMs pre knowledge of the placing price , and thus VOGS true direction .. ln absorbing & maintaining the s/p in the face of an abundance of sells on thursday morning the question was answered . And i was not surprised that day to see it had gained 4 1/2 p,,,, Nor on Friday an an interday s/p high of 103p As to VOGS chart wich suggested the s/p would be extremely volatile many big players called it wrong . The volatility lay in favour of the bulls and NOT the bears as was was originally thought ... Looking ahead . lf VOG can maintain its growing momentum straight from the blocks on Monday i think we shall see the arrival of a three digit s/p very quickly....Very quickly . . Looking at other smallcaps in the industry - Well if EEN is valued @ with an m/c of @ then VOG is worth ten times that . . The C1 " shut in " of hydrocarbon for which VOG are searching is believed to be in the region of 900 to 1100 feet which approximates to 22 to 28 days drilling. ..,,,,and then CASHFLOW ....and then the spudding of a number of wells in what is the companies jewel in the crown at West Medvedhye... ...The selling of WM for a consideration of 11 million from Sever'gas could make Shells selling of Cairns offshore lndian ocean acreage look equally embarrasing ..Actually Shell and Gaz de France and Maurel and Prom along with Gaspom have all been rumoured to be giving VOG the once over.. Fox Capital in one ..,,,,,,,,,,,,Very interesting and hopefully profitable days ahead i hope .....Bonne chance et faires attention a'bientot ...@+ J

Great analysis french connection. I seem to have got it wrong suggesting 50p. I sit corrected. I thought the problem was that Vog are dependent on the price Gazprom choose to pay them to tunnel the gas, but I might be wrong in this as well. But if the share's good then there should be plenty of time to buy it. Granted, it's initial big movement made me think of White nile, rising 14 times in 4 days, but I'd like to think VOG if successful, will be more like Cairn, rising slowly and steadily as more established investors start to take it seriously.

The Gazprom price will be related to the price at which they can sell it to their customers. I read an article in The Times (I think) yesterday about negotiations Gazprom are having with their customers in the Ukraine to raise the price to similar levels as their European customers pay. Rising gas price bodes well.

Amities / So its 78p ? .So initially its "up " surely . 16.3 million new shares to sit in the coffers of institutions and favoured "hi value clients " who backed VOG since inception . l am more than pleased . ... ..Considering fair and true value i happen to believe those institutions got a very good deal here ; But in saying that i happen to think we got better deal here & deal every bit as attractive, and further illustated to the "average joe " that considering brokers and bankers who constitute the most CONSERVATIVE of cliques think 78p is a price tag from which they will only grow . l happen to think we got a better deal than mr market anticipated or suspected . As not only is the placing price a tad improvement on what i expected ; but also acts as a variable towards provision of a very strong platform of support @ 78p and erradicates much of the genuine uncertainity which has recently beleagered this stock . And as we all know "uncertainty " is the worst enemy for a particular shares performance Bonne chance !!! a/b @+ J

A whole 24hours with no post, has the interest died already???
Will sp head back to 78p placement before moving on upwards?
Will VOG be the next Cairn Energy or the next Regal Petroleum?

The B trade was at the placement price. SP should remain pretty constant from now until 29th when i expect volumes to increase. I got a bit of a shock when my stock ticker briefly showed -17% after that broker trade but nothing to worry about.

RNS this morning: -
Victoria Oil & Gas Plc
West Medvezhye Acquisition Update
* Acquisition of remaining shares in ZAO SeverGas-Invest, bringing
ownership of West Medvezhye gas and condensate licence to 100%
* Total acquisition price of US$3.2 million cash, 1.23 million ordinary
shares in Victoria and waiver of outstanding claim of US$2.6 million
Victoria Oil & Gas Plc ("Victoria") (ticker: VOG), the AIM-quoted oil and gas
company operating in the Former Soviet Union, today announces that it has
completed the process begun in early 2005 for the acquisition of the remaining
25.2% of ZAO SeverGas-Invest ("SGI"), the owner of the West Medvezhye gas and
gas condensate licence in Western Siberia, to bring its total shareholding to
100%.
Victoria announced on 17 May 2005 that it had agreed commercial terms to acquire
a further 15.2% but it subsequently discovered a problem with the vendors' title
and suspended the proposed acquisition. Negotiations have continued and now,
having resolved the title issues, Victoria has agreed to proceed with the
transaction and has further agreed to increase the purchase to cover the entire
minority interest.
The consideration for the acquisition is to be satisfied by US$3.2 million cash,
the issue of 1,230,000 new ordinary shares in Victoria, the waiver of Victoria's
outstanding claim of US$2.6 million against the vendors of the 74.8% of SGI
acquired in November, 2004 and release of 1,855,000 shares from escrow. A total
of 3,734,314 shares, are to be held in escrow until 30 April 2006 in support of
warranties that have been given by the vendors.
A recent report by independent reservoir auditors DeGolyer & MacNaughton
estimated an expected recoverable gas resource for the field surrounding the
first exploration well at West Medvezhye of half a trillion cubic feet of gas.
Chairman Kevin Foo said today "I am very pleased that we have been able to
achieve a breakthrough and bring these negotiations to a conclusion. This will
allow our shareholders to enjoy the benefits of 100% ownership of our exciting
discovery at West Medvezhye."
This explains the 1.85m B to B sell yesterday......great news...... :-)
