Yes, I know they moved about 4 years ago, but I still have contacts at senior level still and the culture has not changed much. I spoke with someone there only last week.

It would have done once when I had a 28" waist! Those were the days.

My estimate is still 187p for MKS as a low, although I suspect it may hit 169p.

28" waist implies about 36/38" hip from memory, which is a healthy size 12 or even 14!

Mens' hips are smaller in relation to womens'.

Haystack comes from a combination of my surname and stack being a common term for computer memory. It was the name of a Unix server I had (you have to name Unix machines when you install Unix).

I'm sorry, Chilli, but if you're talking designer here then the last place in the world that you'd go is M&S and the last thing that you'd think about is autographs of Take That!

Hilary designeris 90% snob valuedont get me wrong I have purchased in Sloane Streetand on Cannes front for special occasionsbut from socks to boxersand suits to Italian jumpers M&S are very good qualityI do like nice shoesbut I feel it is knowing what colours suit and what designs flatter.
Take That are the biggest band of their type that there has ever beena good signing I would sayand Autograph is very good quality garment IMHO.

Chilli,
I'm simply trying to portray a view here according to how I and my family shop. I'm sure that there are tens of thousands of families out there who share those views. The concensus on this thread says a lot.
If I want fashion, I certainly don't go to M&S. If I want budget, I'm not ashamed to admit that I've been to Primark and TackyMaxxxxx is very good too. If I want everyday, I've got a Next account - they deliver next day and I just over-order in different sizes and send back what I don't want or doesn't fit.
So we're left with ties, slippers, bras and sticky toffee puddings (which Waitrose also do and you get the added benefit of being able to knock the geriatrics over in the aisles with your trolley). That really isn't any great deal imo.
Sorry, I'm not invested and I really couldn't care less whether the M&S share price is up, down or haf a crown. I'm just saying it as I see it from a consumer's perspective.
