Read through the Rns a couple of times. Yes the drill is slow. The report starts with -
International oil and gas exploration, development and production company,
Range Resources Limited ("Range" or "the Company") is pleased to announce .Strange words if the drill is going wrong as some state. As Pete said in the last interview if you want oil yesterday move on, he cannot stop you.
I can only see the drill as being slow. Yes I thought they would be much further
on. I thought the update read very well. I am very happy to sit and wait. Its not even priced in at the end of the day. A 7am rns christmas morning would do me, with
good news. lol.

Thanks to dogpog on interactive ii, As i do not understand the drilling ops
that is the point imo. The "primary target" (read original first target) is deeper beneath the volcanic intrusion that has hampered drilling. They have however following the wireline run multiple side cores. Why? they know the lithology from the LWD and the mud cuttings. Side cores are to test the RESERVOIR CHARACTERISTICS. So why side wall core dust on an already delayed well? you don't ... they have found something on the wireline. If they hadn't the model would have been wrong and they may have done HORIZONTAL down hole seismic to find the reservoir. They are going vertical because historically large fields have been found in the region BELOW volcanic intrusions (see the geoscience article I posted). So in summary the Helium still stands for the original primary stacked targets below the intrusion, but we may have found a nice surprise above. Do you commit to continuing a slow costly drill down to the main target or get more proof of what is there first? If the seismic confirms a larger target beneath you push on with added confidence. If it is equivocal, you announce what you already have on the wireline.

I have to admit my initial reading through of the RNS was not what was expected BUT having re read it all the clues are there. The Company is also pleased to report that their partner and project operator in Georgia, Strait Oil and Gas Ltd, have drilled to the intermediate depth of 1544 meters with a proposed total depth of 3500 meters. Drilling
operations are continuing after a short interruption to undertake a comprehensive data collection program for close analysis.
> so not very far since last update they haven't been hanging around drinking tea, they have been TESTING imo
The analysis is deemed prudent to determine if the well has reached the Paleozoic granite basement or is drilling through a subvolcanic intrusive which is masking the targeted primary reservoir objective at the depth of about 2,300m as interpreted from the helium survey and exists with other similar discoveries found under
subvolcanic intrusives.
> true see here .... http://www.geoscience.co.uk/assets/file/Reservoirs%20in%20Fractured%2...
An additional factor for undertaking the analysis is the slow drilling rates that are being achieved through the highly variable intrusive complex.
> This was alluded to this a week ago. So naff off to all the whingers.
A full suite of wireline logs has been successfully recorded.
> SUCCESSFULLY recored
Additional valuable information has been obtained through the successful collection of 10 sidewall cores from critical intervals. Preparations are underway for cutting a full diameter conventional core within the nearest future.
> Ok, The wireline man from delmonte said yes we have oil.so what do we do next? Core sidewalls to look for porosity, as SV says, the lithology will be known from cuttings.
Once the coring program is completed, a Vertical Seismic Profile (VSP) survey will be run.
> Hmmmm so in a grossly delayed drill, that has over run in coast and time, we are now going to halt drilling progress to run a VERTICAL Seismic profile. note not horizontal .... ergo they have hit a payzone imo. Drilling is tough, the granite is a strong seal, is it worth the time and cost to continue drilling at this rate to the lower zones or P&A and announce current findings?
The new data will then be integrated into the full data set and the subsurface situation reinterpreted as appropriate. This reinterpretation will then be used to determine the next steps for the well depending on the progress of
the well at that point in time. The VSP survey will be undertaken in approximately 10 to 14 days.
> I think I just said that above! So for all the disillusioned naysayers, finger pointers and whingers. This is FAR from a duster imo.More cash is being spent on an already overspent well. the RUMours were right about the granite, and you could feel the excitement last week. Well 2 weeks later we all now know officially about the granite.
Who is to say in 2 weeks we we all know why we wer

I have no sympathy for those on T trades, spreads or who have used money needed tomorrow, but for investors in this stock it looks like Georgia is getting interesting.
All this aside it isn't even accounted for in the MCAP currently.
Why no TT flows yet?
Why no TT CPR?
why no Puntland?
What about Texas flows?
What is that 7M acquisition extension option in the AFR for?
Have Taghman V been earning their keep?
Why were socius prepared to pay a premium?
why are dutchess happy to facilitate a further 30M for appraisal of significant discoveries?....
Well I am sticking around to watch the show because there are a lot of acts to come and we are just being warmed up.
No ramp, just fact. Hold, sell, or buy. your choice. I remain happy to be almost all in.
Have a good evening all.

'No ramp, just fact.'
That comment really does take the biscuit, if not the whole packet.
BBs are full of 'experts', experts who understand the supposed subtle meanings of a RNS whereas the Market, stuffed full of real experts do not. Of course the acolytes, hang on every word, usually because they are so out of pocket, they need someone to tell them everything is going to be ok. Alternatively, the acolytes missed the opportunity to sell at a decent profit and also need someone to assure them the previous dizzy share price heights will not only be reached again but exceeded!
I suppose RRL should have commenced the RNS with something like, 'RRL regret....' rather than 'RRL are pleased.......' Good grief what a load of bollocks, how can anyone think 'RRL are pleased........' has any significance?
The Georgia drill is taking longer than expected = fact.
RRL et al did not expect the drill to run into difficulties = fact.
The latter seems to indicate the drill partners didn't understand the geology of the intended well, questionable seismic? = conjecture.
The drill partners are legally bound to announce by RNS price sensitive information; discovery of oil (or gas) just might be considered as such.
In other words Georgia is not going according to plan and if they can't get through the rock, the well will be abandoned. Whether Georgia is 'in the price' or not, this will not be good news for RRL. The company will have spent a significant amount of cash for no reward.
Not much good news in that RNS at all, no flow rates for TNT, why not?
Quite a let down for investors in my opinion. But no doubt DC will still keep ramping away!

DC, have I touched a nerve?
I don't expect you to agree with anything I say, after all, you look at RRL through rose tinted glasses, I take a more pragmatic view.
You post on this company constantly, every day. Mostly you copy rubbish from other sites, so you should not be surprised if the intensity of your contribution leads to accusations of ramping.
A large proportion of your posts are unfounded rubbish; for example, only last Friday, you were stating that the general consensus was that this week was going to be full of good news, well informed posters in the know etc, etc.
If you read the EOG thread you will find that it was actually grannyboy who subjected me to a torrent of abuse rather than me 'having it in for him.'
I've already told you how the Georgia well is going, it's not going well.

It's my opinion. Just like you and everyone else, it is something to which I am entitled.
It isn't going to plan, it was supposed to reach TD in September.
What else will they do except P&A if theyc can't get through?
Obviously a P&A won't be good news.
Clearly they will have spent cash for no reward.
I can't see how you can argue with any of that. Who said it was in a RNS?
