It would have done once when I had a 28" waist! Those were the days.

My estimate is still 187p for MKS as a low, although I suspect it may hit 169p.

28" waist implies about 36/38" hip from memory, which is a healthy size 12 or even 14!

Haystack comes from a combination of my surname and stack being a common term for computer memory. It was the name of a Unix server I had (you have to name Unix machines when you install Unix).

I'm sorry, Chilli, but if you're talking designer here then the last place in the world that you'd go is M&S and the last thing that you'd think about is autographs of Take That!

Hilary designeris 90% snob valuedont get me wrong I have purchased in Sloane Streetand on Cannes front for special occasionsbut from socks to boxersand suits to Italian jumpers M&S are very good qualityI do like nice shoesbut I feel it is knowing what colours suit and what designs flatter.
Take That are the biggest band of their type that there has ever beena good signing I would sayand Autograph is very good quality garment IMHO.

Chilli,
I'm simply trying to portray a view here according to how I and my family shop. I'm sure that there are tens of thousands of families out there who share those views. The concensus on this thread says a lot.
If I want fashion, I certainly don't go to M&S. If I want budget, I'm not ashamed to admit that I've been to Primark and TackyMaxxxxx is very good too. If I want everyday, I've got a Next account - they deliver next day and I just over-order in different sizes and send back what I don't want or doesn't fit.
So we're left with ties, slippers, bras and sticky toffee puddings (which Waitrose also do and you get the added benefit of being able to knock the geriatrics over in the aisles with your trolley). That really isn't any great deal imo.
Sorry, I'm not invested and I really couldn't care less whether the M&S share price is up, down or haf a crown. I'm just saying it as I see it from a consumer's perspective.

M&S are useless for slippers, Hil - crap, in fact.
I'm afraid there aren't too many geriatrics in our Waitrose down the road, so I only shop online with 15% vouchers, when I get the urge - not only do they colour code your order into bags, but they have these cute shoe-hats that they keep threatening to use - they'd put the groceries away if I let them! And their bags are huuge, so much better to re-use.
Oh yes - and M&S had the gall to tell me that I'd have to pay for the bags for my groceries. It wasn't the 5p, it was the principle - so I held up the queue whilst I packed everything into their teeny bags that they were obliged to make available. I'm sick of all this carbon footprint nonsense - they have effin big notices up everywhere telling everybody just how green they are - and then they send you (as they just have me) vouchers to the value of the points you've earned - in denominations of 1-2. So I've received three, where one would have been just dandy.
And as for bras - well, any girlie underwear for that matter - M&S is a definite no-no.
The pink lacey thingies were just about ok ;)
