moneyplus - 19 May 2010 11:59 - 218 of 841

anyone here checked out GBR which is dominoes international franchise. not to foreign taste at first but now looks to be growing fast and I have tucked some away long term after looking at the last set of results. I missed early chance at dom because like cynic I don't like pizza---not making the same mistake!!

goldfinger - 24 May 2010 08:42 - 219 of 841

World Cup Winner I reckon.......

The BUY broker following for this stock is very bullish. I reckon geography expansion will lead to greater growth....

Broker backing coming up to the World Cup will help this one I reckon.....

09.04.10: IC says Buy (346.8p) BULL POINTS Resilient in tight consumer conditions - Impressive sales growth - Robust expansion - Effective promotions and sponsorship deals BEAR POINTS Shares expensively rated for the sector - Dividend yield nothing special.

12-04-10 12.04.10 :+2, (352) Altium lifts Domino's Pizza target price to 490p from 415p and maintains a buy rating, following "yet another excellent trading update." Altium says Domino's remains the most attractive business model within its universe, and further forecast upgrades are very likely regardless of teh macroeconomic backdrop.

18-02-10 18.02.10 :+14, (352.9) Goldman Sachs lifts Domino's Pizza target price to 410p from 395p, "reflecting the roll-forward of the valuation, and a modest decrease in our overall capex estimates in 2010 and 2011." The brokerage also cites Domino's very strong FY results, saying they represent the continuation of a long-term track record of robust operational performance. Keeps at buy.

I like this one gf one to hold for 5 years.

Clubman3509 - 24 May 2010 10:23 - 222 of 841

I sold mine recently, not because of faith in the company, but because in these volatile times better the profit in my pocket. Saying that they make the worst pizza that I have ever tasted.

mitzy - 24 May 2010 14:54 - 223 of 841

my local closed lasr year due to mice droppings found on work surfaces and elsewhere...would you like a rat.

cynic - 24 May 2010 15:03 - 224 of 841

domino's is of course a franchise, but if you have worked in a commercial kitchen, you'll understand the problems of hygiene and similar, especially in old buildings.

i think this is a damn good company.
i have held it in the past, but do not currently do so, for no great reason other than i am currently staying away from uk retailers

Clubman3509 - 24 May 2010 15:04 - 225 of 841

Mice droppings may improve the quality.
KFC in Salford Manchester was fined big last year for supplying rats legs in their family bucket.

mitzy - 24 May 2010 15:18 - 226 of 841

lol rats legs.

HARRYCAT - 24 May 2010 15:29 - 227 of 841

If England exit the World Cup at an early stage, will the brokers downgrade their estimates?
Also, I agree that their pizzas are now poor compared to others. I wonder if they have sacrificed quality for quantity.

Clubman3509 - 24 May 2010 16:02 - 228 of 841

Our local Domino's was doing poor until they employed two stunning female moto delivery girls uniformed in very small hot pants, and tight tops.

cynic - 24 May 2010 16:27 - 229 of 841

i find harry's comment interesting, as i was always under the impression that domino's quality was superior to the competition .... if that is now genuinely not the case, then they are in for a bad time as the public is not stupid, except for those apparently seduced by the pubic

harry - who is now reckoned to be top of the pops in the take-away market?

HARRYCAT - 24 May 2010 16:40 - 230 of 841

Not really sure as I don't eat many pizza's (have tried a new local Domino's lately, but was very disappointed), but locally Papa John's is the best. To sit down & eat, Pizza Express seems the most popular, but I can never understand the logic as they are very expensive. Maybe one of the reasons I rarely invest in retail, as consumer trends elude me. Not far from me is a huge student population, so they are the target market with lots of student cheap deals being offered.

Clubman3509 - 24 May 2010 16:50 - 231 of 841

Students. Rat, or mice droppings would not bother them, they would see it as a free bonus.

mitzy - 25 May 2010 08:26 - 232 of 841

Clubman were the two moto girls over 18 years..?

Clubman3509 - 25 May 2010 10:07 - 233 of 841

Why

mitzy - 25 May 2010 10:25 - 234 of 841

Had they passed their test..?

Clubman3509 - 25 May 2010 10:31 - 235 of 841

Who cares they were hot.

mitzy - 25 May 2010 10:39 - 236 of 841
