Energy Technique - Will this be one of the next growth stock. (ETQ)

Legins - 02 Sep 2003 17:45

Could ETQ's share price be soon to benefit from their developments with the new UVGI Nightingale Mobile Air Filtration Product.

New UVGI air filtration product

In November 2002, the ETQ announced its new Nightingale UVGI air filtration product, to be produced by a new joint-venture company, UVGI Systems Limited, owned 55% by the Group and 45% by Suvair Limited. This rapid response mobile air filtration unit is capable of killing the MRSA super bug and other airborne pathogens.

The UVGI unit has widespread application where there is need to keep
air free of dangerous live bacteria, viruses, and fungal spores, including
hospitals, schools, cruise liners, aircraft, food processing, and military
applications.

The UVGI unit uses a high intensity Ultra Violet Germicidal Irradiation ('UVGI')
filter, which has been designed to control harmful and dangerous airborne
pathogens, such as Anthrax, Tuberculosis, and Staphylococcus aureus, the
causative agent in MRSA. The filtration system is combined with use of high
intensity Ultra Violet light, which inactivates micro organisms by disrupting
their DNA structure.

Tests of a prototype at the Defence Science Technology Laboratory ('Dstl') at
Porton Down, the centre for excellence for the Ministry of Defence, showed that
the UVGI unit captured and/or destroyed more than 99.9% of Bacillus subtilis
spores, a simulant for Anthrax bacteria.

Since November, second generation units have been developed, which will go on
applications testing at an NHS Trust Hospital in December 2003, following
building completion of its new haematology unit. It is also anticipated the
UVGI unit will shortly go on laboratory testing in the United States with
contractors nominated by the Department of Homeland Security.

Concern seems to be hotting up on the T.V. news that the MRSA super bug is still killing and disabling people visiting or as patients in NH Trust hospitals. It would be surprising if NH Trust hospital do not notice and Buy this product before they get to many expensive law suits for compensation claims.

Definitely a stock that could soon be heading north. Worth buying in but DYOR

Energy Technique were ahead 1.25p (21.2%) on hopes that ongoing talks about an NHS deal for its superbug-beating Nightingale filtration system would be fruitful.

momentum - 06 Aug 2004 16:40 - 230 of 497

Sue cannot see what choice the NHS have. Here is a product that can help in the fight against MRSA .When Hospitals in the US are all ready starting to take up the product. If the NHS fail to support Nightingale and MRSA continues to kill, they ( NHS ) will find themselves with a PR nightmare, when the general public discover what is going on.

thesaurus - 06 Aug 2004 21:53 - 231 of 497

what is the price expectancy on this for 2004

maddoctor - 06 Aug 2004 21:58 - 232 of 497

just how many cases of superbug have been contracted from air , not many I would think , most cases from dirty hands , dirty everything else , HCEG has got more going for it.

momentum - 06 Aug 2004 22:27 - 233 of 497

Agree Mad doc also hold HCEG. Good threads on MW website. But a combination of both approaches will imho eradicate MRSA.At present though ETQ has the momentum behind it and is a 1/6th of the value of HCEG.

Yoyo - 06 Aug 2004 22:34 - 234 of 497

True MRSA is a contact bug, but the case for having an isolation ward for infected patients is a must and that environment should be kept as sanitised as is poss. Times are moving forward and I'm sure a few years from now people will think it their right to have clean air, especially inside a hospital and in the workplace. A machine such as this that kills 99% of all airbourne germs dead (just as domestos does the loo) has wider implications / benifits for any purchaser. An outbreak of SARS for example could be controlled more easily with proper facilities like isolation wards.

maddoctor - 06 Aug 2004 22:38 - 235 of 497

Yoyo , I agree with your argument but the other 1% can still get you !

SueHelen - 06 Aug 2004 23:10 - 236 of 497

Press mention : will appear in tomorrow's Daily Mail Newspaper.

Investtech Analysis after today's close :

Weak Positive Candidate (Short term) - Aug 6, 2004
ENERGY TECH. ORD 1P has broken the falling trend and reacted strongly up. For the time being, it is difficult to say anything about the future trend direction. The stock has support at p 5.10 and resistance at p 8.10. Volume tops and volume bottoms correspond well with tops and bottoms in the price. Volume balance is also positive, which strengthens the stock. The stock is overall assessed as technically slightly positive for the short term.

Neutral (Medium term) - Aug 6, 2004
Is within a falling trend, which indicates a continued decline. Has, however, received a positive signal from the moving average indicator, thus signaling a continued rise. The stock has support at p 3.50 and resistance at p 11.20. The volume balance is positive and strengthens the stock in the short term. The stock is overall assessed as technically neutral for the medium long term.

Weak Positive Candidate (Long term) - Aug 6, 2004
Is within a falling trend, which indicates a continued decline. Has met the objective at 12.66 after a break of a inverse head and shoulders formation. The price has now fallen, but the formation indicates further rise. The stock has support at p 3.50 and resistance at p 11.20. Volume tops correspond well with price tops, and volume bottoms correspond well with price bottoms. Volume balance is also positive, which weakens the falling trend and could be an early signal for a coming trend break. Trading volume has increased substantially lately, which may be because of fundamental news. The stock is overall assessed as technically slightly positive for the long term.

Approximately 178,000 shares buy has gone through at a premium to the indicative offer price at a price of 7.375 pence. Interesting.

The 178,000 odd buy orginally went through at 8.13 this morning and reported 1 hour later. Trades over 150,000 shares are delayed in reporting by 1 hour.

With L2 at 1 v 2, a shake may be coming on the bid. One just has to remind themselves of all the heavy buying from roughly the open on Friday at 7.00-7.50 pence. And the 180K odd buy today at a premium price of 7.375 pence.

As always the market makers like playing with the bid price, keep an eye on the offer price.
