OK so you thought the title of the other thread was out of date BUT unfortunately there is no way to edit thread titles.

So here is a new title

This one has got the charts at the top again & has a link to the old one.

UP again, will it break through 22p?

That could be interesting.

accord - 04 Nov 2004 16:42 - 224 of 1451

Looking at the 1 Year gragh I think a move upwards is on the cards. If it breaks the 22p mark then 25p is the next hurdle. Loads of products at phase 3 in their trials so im holding on for the long term.

Hearing rumours that GTAC has concerns re the safety of some lentiviruses that are used in Pro-Sarin. Anybody heard anything ?

accord - 08 Nov 2004 12:57 - 226 of 1451

Janus

Where did you hear / read these rumours from ????

Janus - 08 Nov 2004 16:21 - 227 of 1451

A friend who is a doctor mentioned it, trying to find out more

apple - 08 Nov 2004 21:43 - 228 of 1451

More false rumours please, so that I can buy some more at a better price :-)

Janus - 09 Nov 2004 11:41 - 229 of 1451

I have now seen a copy of a letter sent out by Professor Norman C Nevin GTAC Chairman, warning of concerns over the safety of some lentiviral gene therapy vectors. This states that reports have been received of the development of liver tumours in a pre-clinical study using lentiviral vectors. Most of the tumours occurred in a group of mice that had been treated in utero with a vector carrying the factor IX gene, although a small number of tumours were also observed in animals that had been treated neonatally or had received vectors carrying only marker genes.

The letter states that the number of mice involved is small and the wider implications are not yet clear. It also says that these observations do not appear to affect any current or previous UK trials so I have no idea how this affects OXB.

Not a problem, OXB have something for tumours aswell :)

Janus - 10 Nov 2004 13:12 - 231 of 1451

apple - 10 Nov 2004 13:18 - 232 of 1451

Should be able to get a better price soon by the look of things.

hlyeo98 - 10 Nov 2004 13:28 - 233 of 1451

From the other place

Martin C-J - 11 Nov'04 - 15:34 - 13770 of 13785

I never usually post a response from an email but this time I will make an exception. I just received this a few seconds ago. I hope Alan Kingsman does not mind:

Dear Martin

Andrew Wood passed your e-mail to me. We have been aware of the information in the GTAC letter for some time. Let me reassure you that the vectors used in the study were not those that we use in the clinical products and in a vast range of animal experiments conducted over many months for our various products we have never seen a single adverse event caused by the vectors let alone any tumour induction.

Yours

Alan Kingsman

Rumours persist from the other place. Might be best to sit on the sidelines until resolved one way or the other - could be a bumpy ride short term. Medium-long term it's a quality company with some great technologies.

daves dazzlers - 13 Nov 2004 21:23 - 237 of 1451

Still looking at this one,my be in soon.

hlyeo98 - 14 Nov 2004 11:15 - 238 of 1451

buy in on weakness

daves dazzlers - 14 Nov 2004 12:59 - 239 of 1451

I am thinking along those lines hlyeo98 , but a seem to be buying a lot of longs at the moment ..

eurofox - 14 Nov 2004 17:52 - 240 of 1451

I spoke to Alan Kingsman by phone and got the same information as Martin. Not only did he confirm the email response above, but mentioned that the "Academic Group" that ran into a problem with its mice were trying to do something quite different and were, in effect, using "problematic mice" to start with

My take on my conversation with Alan Kingsman yesterday, in clarifying the scope of the GTAC notice (see MJC email above also) was that he sounded supremely confident - imo

apple - 16 Nov 2004 11:36 - 241 of 1451

Oh well, drifting down again.

I'm waiting for 16p to buy some more.

DSTOREY9916 - 16 Nov 2004 13:35 - 242 of 1451

Let the guys behind the scenes get on with it, sp will eventually reflect their work and achievements.
