NIGHTHAWK 6 BAGGER ON DEBUT. (HAWK)

oilyrag - 12 Mar 2007 07:10

Pre IPO price 4p
Opening price on debut 25p
Floatation price 46p to raise 14million to extend Jolly Ranch
Current fair value estimate 114p
Market cap 70.59 million.
Value of Cisco Springs investments 98 million.
Value of Vogel investments 75 million.
Desparado trucking now Nightfox 250,000 for a 50% stake with partner Running Foxes.
Centurion Project Kansas, 150,000 for a 50% stake.
Jolly Ranch Colorado, 40,000 acres cost 356,000 for a 50% stake.
Cash in bank 7.75 million.

As this EPIC opens on AIM today anything could happen. On the one hand you have traders trying to cash in a sixfold profit. You will also have a clambering of traders after shares because, firstly they could only get 75% of their allocation because of demand. Secondly at 25p this company is still way under valued.

Does anybody know how much oil ( or gas equivalent ) is likely to be produced from each well? Are we talking about 100's of barrels per day or only 50 from nodding donkeys?

As far as I know HAWK has yet to indicate what the likely production level is estimated to be. Would be interested to find out.

BigTed - 09 Oct 2007 21:57 - 228 of 1373

Not sure about what is to be expected from Devon, but thought i would post this extract taken from oil barrel article earlier in year...

Cisco Springs lies at the convergence of three basins in an area that is attracting major investment from deep gas drillers - the likes of EnCana, Shell and ExxonMobil. Nighthawk and project operator Running Foxes, a privately-owned Denver firm run by Steve Tedesco of Admiral Bay fame, are going for shallow gas targets, about 600 to 1,800 ft down, with multiple pay zones. The wells can be sunk for US$140,000 each, take two weeks to drill and the pay back, at worst, is within 90 days, said Bramhill.

This is a classic tale of stranded gas. The area has seen hundreds of wells drilled over the last 50 years but many were abandoned as the drillers then sought oil, not difficult-to-market gas. But today gas is the in-demand fuel and the construction of a pipeline in 1999 opened up the neglected gas deposits to the energy hungry markets of the US west coast.

The land was owned by mom and pop operators and it was really a bit of a junk yard, admitted Bramhill. Steve Tedesco consolidated the acreage and put it all together to make a meaningful project. It has all been cleaned up and BLM approved and now were seeing some really terrific results.

Nighthawk and Running Foxes have an aggressive drilling programme lined up to exploit this largely untapped resource, with up to 60 wells planned for the next two years. In all 390 well sites have been identified on the project. The company plans to use 2.8 million of the IPOs 9.1 million net proceeds to develop Cisco Springs and a further 0.5 million to buy further land rights in the area.

Since Nighthawk joined the project ten wells have been drilled, of which seven are new wells and three were re-entries. Nine of the ten encountered commercial quantities of hydrocarbons. This is an impressive strike rate. At the moment 18 wells are producing 700,000 cubic feet of gas per day (260,000 cf/d net to Nighthawk) plus some ancillary oil production. The gas is sold into a low capacity pipeline but the installation of a new pipeline tap, expected in the second quarter, has the potential to take gas production to more than 3 million cf/d or 1 million cf/d net to Nighthawk.

Nighthawk also has an option to purchase a majority interest in the Vogel Bartlesville waterflood project in Bourbon County, Kansas. It plans to exercise this option following admission to AIM, using 180,000 of the IPO proceeds to buy the rights and a further 820,000 to develop the project. Assuming the waterflood scheme is successful, this project would add oil production to the mix. It all adds up to a very promising starter pack for AIMs latest oily offering.
