you're doing a sterling job here sticky
my caveat, particularly about the oilies above, is that some are real minnows or less and should be bought, if at all, with great care.

DES
is almost a special situations stock - see relevant thread

GKP
has just issued a strong update, so has had a surge this morning
prob here is that currently baghdad will not allow the kurds to export
that said, that issue will assuredly be resolved - eventually!

Fred1new - 14 Jan 2010 11:55 - 24 of 3532

Here are some charts of SFR. Improving fundamentals showing in charts. Been through a period of consolidation and I think uptrend will be sustained. BFYOH.

Beware of change in interval changes and MA changes.

Excellent thread!!

Don't want to steal your thunder with BVIC goldfinger, but can the breakout above 400 be maintained? Weakening volume?

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=BVIC&S

How do you want to run this thread? In the case where a thread exists, do you want the chart published here with a reason for immediate interest and a reference to the existing thread included for continued discussion? Extended discussion on each stock identified may make very difficult to read.

Links such as this to barchart.com which is entirely relevant to both threads and I'd expect that this is the type of resource/comment you would want included to posts in this thread:

http://quote.barchart.com/texpert.asp?sym=BVIC.LS&code=BSTK

Posting questions because I think that on an on-going basis this could be an excellent thread.

goldfinger - 14 Jan 2010 12:38 - 26 of 3532

Great to see some having a go at last.

stu, dropped bvic for a nice profit a couple of weeks back.

goldfinger - 14 Jan 2010 12:40 - 27 of 3532

Fred.... SFR yep cropped up on a daily screen I did over last week on a few occasions. Lovely uptrend.

Balerboy - 14 Jan 2010 12:56 - 28 of 3532

IMT seems to climbing gently with a 52p div on Wednesday next.

Fred1new - 14 Jan 2010 13:32 - 29 of 3532

Here seems to be a likely lad. With some projections at 47 and 57p. BDYOH as it may be starting a short term reversal. The volume has drop with the intra-dray volume and if it stays low may expect to bounce of short term channel at 41-41.5p. (I think or hope.) I hold for long term shares and Share Bets for shorter term.
Criticism welcome.

goldfinger - 14 Jan 2010 13:48 - 30 of 3532

Fred am I right in thinking trading statement is due this coming monday for TW.?.

skinny - 14 Jan 2010 14:15 - 31 of 3532

Yes - next Monday.

jimmy b - 14 Jan 2010 14:59 - 32 of 3532

Strong hold if you have time on your side.

goldfinger - 14 Jan 2010 16:16 - 33 of 3532

Cheers skinny , might get a good run up tomorrow I ve noticed a lot of brokers with very recent positive updates.

Fred1new - 14 Jan 2010 16:33 - 34 of 3532

Jimmy, Do you know how old I am?

I have too many share remnants like that.

jimmy b - 14 Jan 2010 17:27 - 35 of 3532

Fred ,as long as you have more than 6 months you'll be fine..

Fred1new - 14 Jan 2010 18:49 - 36 of 3532

RBS is another share bet I hold. (Small amounts only.) I bought another small holding at the close with a closer stop than for my previous holds.

I wanted to place regression channels, but find it a little difficult on MM charts. To me these show over relativel orderly downtrend for about 4mths and a reversal starting 4/1/10.

Today open up with slightly lower close but on low volume.

I find fundamentals of banks impossible to me to really understand, but guess the short term sp is up, with medium term slowing.

Worth a look with 15% trailing stop.

cynic - 14 Jan 2010 19:02 - 37 of 3532

i think RBS is a good bet, albeit that there's resistance at 40 (200 dma)

ptholden - 14 Jan 2010 20:54 - 38 of 3532

GF, I'll try and post some stuff up next month, perhaps FX and Indicies I haven't really traded shares for a considerable period of time, but will be taking another look this year.

goldfinger - 15 Jan 2010 01:07 - 39 of 3532

Cheers Pth, I look forward to it.

Fred another corker of a chart sorry charts. Used to be well into Gann and Elliot light moons away but need to recharge my batteries in that field.

cheers.

goldfinger - 15 Jan 2010 01:25 - 40 of 3532

Hi stuartth1309 ,

you asked how should the thread be run earlier today. its up to the individual but I reckon the way I will go about it will be to bring up charts that I notice on stock trawls or screeners like the oily one today, bang it down here as quick as possible for debate etc, and at the same time copy the chart to the individual stock thread.

A bit of fundies can be used to back up.

I think the last thing we want to do here is to operate a site within a site like for example pauly pilots pub on the Motley Fool.

Thats not the idea of the thread but a thread for all who are interested in TA and want to share ideas. Beginners most welcome but dont want to turn into into an advisory thread like fingers thread on advfn.

Its for an exchange in ideas to help collectively to make a few bob. Any links eg, bar chart site can be used as long as we are not upsetting the mam management.

cheers.

goldfinger - 15 Jan 2010 09:33 - 41 of 3532

Invensys ISYS looks like we could have a good run up to trading statement next Friday the 22/1.

Sp attacked resistance at 312p and finally overcame at the fourth attempt, the resistance now turned support which looks rather bullish to me.

invensys%202.JPG

SP target former resistance at 350p and then 400p...........

Fundies back up..............

Broker recommendation
Date: 12 January, 2010

Lifts price target to to 427p from 310 - ratring neutral
