Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. I remember getting somewhat overexcited by RKH about a year ago and realise now that there is certainly a long lag-time between 'starting to drill' and making 'a [proven] discovery' - let alone getting the stuff to the surface... Meanwhile, I have grown significantly older if not wiser.

The cube contains oil recovered from the Shell well 14/10-1 during the 1998 campaign,which is now RKH acerage so oil has been recoved.

wowee! .... and how many years do you reckon it will take before this "oil eldorado" proves its reserves (and its quality) and can actually be exploited and the stuff brought on stream? ..... even taking the first bits as gospel, i would hazard a guess at 7/10 years
