From Mansooreo on the uva bb

They have halted drilling at BB1 as they have hit a major reservoir.
testing is due to start soon.

all from my guy, take it for what it is worth but he has never been wrong so far.

he also stated a while back that this is bigger than shaikan and has reiterated that

more later hopefuly.

cynic - 17 Jan 2012 17:14 - 2510 of 5505

perhaps a massive reservoir of sweet water - in times to come, that will be more valuable than oil

===========

and nothing on reuters

cynic you may well be right, whatever happened to their algerian drilling prospects mentioned in the header, the"pie is now bigger than the sky!"

If this is correct and it's sweet crude :....I know this sounds crazy but expect a 50p increase at the start perhaps....we shall see....the amount of oil this company has is simply staggering.....mind blowing for such a small company.....

gibby - 17 Jan 2012 17:41 - 2513 of 5505

must of got me top up in time this afternoon then :-)))))))))))))))))) nie to be in profit on that as well already

reservoir - bring on the results - i think we can let them stop the drill as long as the find is another few more bbo :-)))

cynic is also correct in some respects to water, as in some parts of these dry/arid regions it already is more expensive than oil as i am sure most of you are aware!! gla

It's a red day for many stocks, rf. [EMG goes up 5% on rubbish figures]. Just have to go with the trend and forego common sense!

From an articlr posted on GENEL thjread.

On the strength of such speculation, rumors have been swirling. Gulf Keystone seems a likely target for an acquisition, and any number of big names could make the move – ExxonMobil, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, Eni, Total, Gazprom, TNK-BP, TPAO, Lukoil, KNOC, all have been mentioned by industry insiders and spectators. Such companies might also take up the handful of remaining unsigned blocks, buy into other currently signed blocks, or takeover smaller companies altogether.

niceonecyril - 18 Jan 2012 09:59 - 2524 of 5505

Bermuda-registered Gulf Keystone Petroleum is exploring financing of the pipeline to send crude from Shaikan, one of three blocks the company is invested in. That field, which is generating near 5,000 bpd now while well testing and development continue, is pegged for a 440,000 bpd capacity.

"avoiding CGT thereby?"

If they were liable for it - no it wouldn't avoid it. Or we'd all be at it. I just transfer my shares to my wife and she sells them next week for no taxable gain? Nope. There is no gain crystallised by the transfer from one spouse to another, but still liable for the full gain on final sale.

niceonecyril - 18 Jan 2012 14:04 - 2527 of 5505

"it does look like the mm's have a system in place to either bang this into auction or straight to no firm order process - the second they get wind of some volume or change.

Not seen this before on GKP so might suggest that they are all on high alert.

I tried to buy 10k earlier at 270p and got no firm order.

Hardly a massive size block is it!?

Interesting times indeed.

Are they worried about being raided by far east buyers again?

HUB"

cynic - 18 Jan 2012 14:07 - 2528 of 5505

bullshit - it's not an MM-only stock and very easy to trade on L2
