cynic this is a media report saudis increasing production hence more oilfield development and decline in oil price, are we looking at $80?

I have 5322 as next support on FTSE 100 going back to late DEC 2011. SUGAR.

On the 1 to 2 year chart it does get a little better does support at 5353 but not much better.

Thats it --ite day Off to pub....had enough of everything today.

FTSE - stay out until further notice or momentum back above 5600

hali - nothing in this life is impossible, but i recollect that saudi bases its budget on oil at $85 and a (much) higher price obviously suits them well internally ..... the counter-balance is what happens to world economies if oil is at say $150

cynic you have not forgotten the political factor, a fall in the oil price will significantly increase economic pressure on the Iranians to abandon their nuclear ambitions, as far as $150 is concerned if they allow that to happen they would be shooting themselves in the foot as well as the "goose".

i think the oil price will influence the iranian nuclear ambition about as much as the arab league influences assad!

hali - i could enjoy sharing a decent bottle of wine with you methinks! ..... the shia/suni conflict - as nuts as the old medieval catholic/heretic one - will not per se affect the price of oil ..... that said, if the scallies in saudi got restless it most assuredly would, but only because it could/would upset the supply of oil to the rest of the world
