Lambykins's Dutch Coffee House - ADULTS ONLY (LAMB)

Spaceman - 28 Jan 2005 23:56

CLOSED - THANKS to all customers for the last few years

compoundup - 22 Mar 2005 14:17 - 2520 of 24230

It was a kit based on a pre-welded tubular fuselage, some wing spars and 14 boxes of bits. It arrived on the day I got married. It took 3 years and about 1200 hours to knock it into shape. I'm still working on Mrs C.

Afternoon All!
Sorry lunch was cancelled due to the kitchen staff having to deal
with a delivery and taking their time about it. ;>)

OK sarnies can be rustled up if anyone wants, there's plenty of
cold roast chicken, smoked salmon, cheddar and liver sausage and lots
of tasty green leaves (ok salad) and tomatoes and coleslaw!

Priscilla yes sorry I had to depart, the call of the ironing and dinner!
:>)

Compoundup, I got to fly a Tiger moth last year - great fun!! but to fly your own hand-built plane must be a great achievement and a very full-filling ambition. I'm sure Mrs C was chuffed to pieces.

compoundup - 22 Mar 2005 14:26 - 2524 of 24230

DD. I took the photo. As I was new to the "type" I needed an type-experienced person with no nerves about flying someone else's creation. Had to go all the way to Walkerburn in the Borders to find someone daft enough.

He took it once around the field then I went dual with him for the real testing before I could get it signed off and insured.

Golddog - 22 Mar 2005 14:28 - 2525 of 24230

Compoundup that looks fun, is it a kitfox? I always wanted to build my own aircraft but I have lost my medical now, at least it should save me some money ;-)

Do you go to the PFA rally?

jeffmack - 22 Mar 2005 14:40 - 2530 of 24230

DD, when is this Chester trip

compoundup - 22 Mar 2005 14:44 - 2531 of 24230

It is indeed a Kitfox Mk2. The whole experience was capped by flying in to the PFA Rally at Cranfield in 1994. I too have been grounded latterly - not by medicals but by opportunity or lack thereof. I hope to take it up again.

I missed the rally at Kemble last year but go when I can

daves dazzlers - 22 Mar 2005 15:06 - 2532 of 24230

daves dazzlers - 22 Mar 2005 15:11 - 2534 of 24230

Easy for you to say,,,,,,,bods barrel dry,,,,,,,not after 4 cans.

jeffmack - 22 Mar 2005 15:12 - 2535 of 24230

DD
Make it a Money AM trip. I might come down as its only 2 hours on the train.

Golddog - 22 Mar 2005 15:15 - 2536 of 24230

Do you ever get the impression we are all boozed up gamblers?
:-)

jeffmack - 22 Mar 2005 15:19 - 2537 of 24230

Priscilla - 22 Mar 2005 15:21 - 2538 of 24230

Why not have a Poochy's Day Out with either racing dogs, lambs or horses?

http://www.sandown.co.uk/racing/fixtures.jsp This shows betfair are sponsoring an evening race meeting on 31st May (a Tuesday). Also the LSE is sponsoring one there on Wed 10th August and Panmure are also sponsoring another on 20th July. Sandown Park lies 15 miles south-west of London just off the A307 in the town of Esher ... Esher railway station is adjacent to the back entrance of the racecourse.

I bet somebody with connections could get us a deal, or we could get our own box if there was enough interest.

Sorry, just re-read a few posts back.....Chester sounds good!

stockbunny - 22 Mar 2005 15:21 - 2539 of 24230

On the odd occasion GD, on the odd occasion!
