With video search set to be the next big growth area BLNX have the software the likes of Microsoft, Google and NewsCorp would love to have.

In fact BLNX have done deals with most of these, the most recent being the UtargetFox deal which has been reported in the USA but not RNS'd in the UK.

Alexa rankings confirm the continued growth in usage as its viral effect spreads:-

The ITN RNS confirms blnx is the best in the market and is growing fast:-

Leading News Organization ITN Extends Advertising Deal with blinkx Based on Proven Campaign Success

blinkx Selected to Power Advertising across ITN Website and Syndication Partner Sites

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. - July 2, 2008 - blinkx, the world's largest and most advanced video search engine, today announced that it has won an extension contract that will augment the scope of its advertising partnership with ITN, one of the world's leading news and multimedia content companies. Under the terms of the new agreement, ITN will use AdHoc, blinkx's patented contextual advertising platform for online TV and video, to serve advertisements on the ITN website and its syndication partner sites, including Bebo.

Through AdHoc, ITN has already been effectively monetizing its premium news content on the blinkx.com network for over six months. During this time, ITN achieved a significantly better return, greater search volume, and higher monetization through blinkx than through other syndication partners.

AdHoc uses blinkx's patented speech-to-text transcription and visual analysis technology to understand video content more thoroughly and effectively than any other service today, and can therefore dynamically place the most pertinent advertising against it. The AdHoc platform offers media companies and advertisers a unique value proposition -- video advertising which combines the emotive power of TV promotion, with the relevance and utility of contextual search advertising.

The confluence of ITN's premium TV content, blinkx's extensive syndication network, and AdHoc's uniquely powerful targeting capabilities was a formula for success. By extending its partnership with blinkx, ITN aims to achieve similar returns by leveraging the AdHoc platform to deliver contextually relevant video advertising on its own website and across its distribution partner sites.

'We're thrilled to be broadening our relationship with ITN,' said Suranga Chandratillake, founder and CEO of blinkx. 'News content is one of the most popular categories of online video and there's clearly a tremendous opportunity for monetization. The success of our partnership with ITN is evidence that the blinkx AdHoc platform is a uniquely powerful solution for online video advertising today.'

'We've been delighted with the results of our partnership with blinkx and are looking forward to implementing the AdHoc technology on our site,' said Nicholas Wheeler, managing director, ITN On. 'blinkx AdHoc has proven that it can achieve significant monetization of our content, effective marketing for advertisers and, most importantly, a useful, non-disruptive experience for our audience.'

As a pioneer in video search technology, blinkx has built a reputation as the most effective way to search new forms of online content such as video. With more than 350 partners and 26 million hours of indexed video and audio content, including favorite TV moments, news clips, short documentaries, music videos, video blogs and more, blinkx uses advanced speech recognition technology to deliver results that are more accurate and reliable than standard metadata-based keyword searches.

If you thought that the Quantcast rankings were bad at position 213, Alexa has Blinkx at position 1,291 in total and for just the US at 821. Their rankings are also falling.

The number of sites linking to them is awful at 2,989. YouTube Sites Linking In: 686,159

Youtube is ranked 3 and for just US 4.

Isaacs - 25 Aug 2010 21:11 - 2556 of 6187

Come on Haystack - stop pissing around and short it. No point in spending time on that research otherwise.

cynic - 25 Aug 2010 21:15 - 2557 of 6187

he would if he had the money

kimoldfield - 26 Aug 2010 02:24 - 2558 of 6187

As Quantcast and Alexa have such a large variant in numbers, does it not throw into question the viability/accuracy of such web information and measurement companies?

Haystack - 26 Aug 2010 03:05 - 2559 of 6187

They use different methods. I believe that Quantcast requires some cooperation from the web site and their figures are estimated for some web sites. It looks as if Blinks is one of the estimated ones. Alexa is better regarded though.

kimoldfield - 26 Aug 2010 07:41 - 2560 of 6187

Ok, thanks Haystack.

tabasco - 26 Aug 2010 08:16 - 2561 of 6187

HaystackBLNX always release the minimum information but have always outperformed expectationThe Doctor plays it that way and so does his adopted son Surangalast results as always ahead of analyst consensus on all key metrics including top line revenue and gross profit.Revenue increased over 140%.Gross profit up 123% to $21.9m .the analyst all got it wrong and always doand once again you will see BLNX outperform expectation in NovemberHaystackif you watched a guy tossing a coinhow many times would you need to see it land on heads to realise it was double headed.I would think.quite a fcuking lot

chessplayer - 26 Aug 2010 09:21 - 2562 of 6187

Quite right tabby, the figures you are quoting are the ones that matter.

Haystack - 26 Aug 2010 12:18 - 2563 of 6187

My guess is that by November, we will see a slump in Blinkx's figures.

Desperation haystackwhat a wasted life!

Haystack - 26 Aug 2010 12:29 - 2565 of 6187

Blinkx's web site hits just keep falling day by day. Beginning to look like a dud.

tabasco - 26 Aug 2010 12:29 - 2566 of 6187

iii........

"Isn't it amazing how an ignoramus can know more than the people running the company?

This is what SC said at the announcement of the results:

blinkxs aggressive audience growth, breaking into both comScore and Nielsens Top 10 Video Sites, combined with our top-tier content partnerships, has enabled our business to flourish over the period,
and we achieved a 112% increase in the number of brands advertising with us. We have continued to attract leading brand advertisers, including Coca Cola, Virgin and Toyota, while maintaining consistently high CPMs (Cost Per Mille), through the effectiveness of our unique Contextual
Advertising platform, blinkx AdHoc. Online video is the fastest growing sector in advertising, and we expect to further accelerate the growth of our business based on this momentum.
In addition, blinkx has made significant progress on the product and business development fronts over the last year. The strength of our technology has enabled us to forge new distribution deals with many
of our top partners, including providing video search for Ask.com, powering advertising for the ITN Premium News Network, and building a broadband TV offering for Brazilian media giant ELO. We also recently partnered with Mobica to bring blinkx video channels to mobile devices.

----------------------

"Yet, here we have John the Baptist in the form of a haystack telling us this is all a pack of lies and we should believe him that Blinkx is for the high jump. And what does he base it on? Alexa and Quantcast. But both of those cover all websites; not specifically video web sites.

If he only pulled the needle he has lost out of his rear end, he might just realise what an absolute idiot he is making himself appear and just do the right thing and vanish up his own rear end before we all put him on the "ignore" list."

haystack's reply....

That's ok. I am sure you will be pleased to know that I will be posting the ranking regularly, possibly every day.

oooooooooooooooooooohhh...you animal....lol

tabasco - 26 Aug 2010 12:32 - 2567 of 6187

Haystack.why dont you get a proper job..

Haystack - 26 Aug 2010 12:39 - 2568 of 6187

Don't take too much notice of what the company says. It looks like marketing hype. I know you are gullible, but I didn't think you were that gullible.
