New Biom Technologies (BIOM)

hangon - 16 Jul 2010 15:31

DYOR - - - - - - - - - Biom Technologies mid-July 2010 AIM
This is the new resting place for Stanelco, the wonder producer of starch-based food-trays...only they didn't catch on.Over the last 10 years to 2010 the 0.1p shares traded abour 2.5p then shot up to 24p during 2005 with promise of Tray-Trials I understand. Within a year or so, they fell to new depths and finished at 0.2p Of course they were full-list then and some were held in ISA's hoping there would be a big profit...only now these are distressed sales as the Company slunk off to AIM, presumably "...to provide better shareholder-value"
Perhaps someone closer to the Co. can explain why the new name is Biome
....rhymes with Home. Often it is done to remove the previous sp-history.
Could it be..so new investors can bask in ignorance, etc. I'm not aware of any "change" in fortune for SEO, rather the reverse.
In my limited experience, the longer the name of a company the longer you have to wait for any return...Huh . . . . . .
. SEO had been a terrible investment.
DYOR.
Can Biome be any worse...?
EDIT ( 24April2017)- "just woken up" -me not BIOME - sp is 154, but I note about June 2013 there was what looks like a CONsolidation . . do I recall many LT investors were sold-short?... as I believe the (new share) numbers were terrible! . . . Anyone?

Pass the water somebody please! ;o)

greekman - 01 Oct 2010 08:54 - 27 of 644

Kim.

You need no longer worry, a van has just pulled up outside my house, men in white coats are coming up the drive. But will I be sectioned for my previous post or because they have found out I am still a holder of Biome shares.
Sorry to all for being so facetious, I appreciate investing should be more serious, but I am becoming more and more frustrated and angry re the lack of response/news by the Biome management.

kimoldfield - 01 Oct 2010 09:47 - 28 of 644

Oh don't worry Greek, BIOM is no longer a serious investment, just a gamble now. Mind you, the same could be said for most investments these days :o)

Having said that, I still believe there is the potential for this company to not only survive but to do reasonably well. There, that's put the kibosh on it!

Hi all (anyone?)
Its been a long time since I was here (or SEO really!).

You can hear yesterdays radio interview with UK CEO of PepsiCo (owners of Walkers Crisps) and the more interesting longer bit with Independant Environment Consultant, Matt Prescott, for the next 6 days, here -

Move the slider along to 1:39:35

Cheers Tony.

giggin - 13 Oct 2010 13:35 - 31 of 644

No 1 in the top risers chart ????
If this keeps rising like this everyday we may break even by Christmas............
2015.

Tonyrelaxes - 13 Oct 2010 20:03 - 32 of 644

45% increase today. 430K invested. Great

Oh, bugger - just looked. It's SEO!
The gain (nay - recovery!) barely buys a night out.

aldwickk - 13 Oct 2010 21:01 - 33 of 644

Who was that poster that knew someone that worked for SEO that played cricket with him and who he pumped for inside info that proved worthless ?

Walkers experiments with crisp packets made of potatoes

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-11501357

Dear Sir/Madam,

We do not comment on any relationship that Biome Bioplastics may or may not have with potential customers.

However, I am pleased to see a company like Pepsico/Walkers taking an interest in bioplastics.

Regards

Anyone in the know why sp (whatever is left of it) is going up?

kimoldfield - 26 Oct 2010 11:28 - 36 of 644

An empty crisp packet, made from potato starch, has been found blowing around outside the factory? ;0)

kimoldfield - 26 Oct 2010 13:34 - 37 of 644

It is rumoured that the Interims, due Friday 5th November, are going to be AMAZING! Hmmm, that could be amazingly bad just as well as it could be good, of course! It would be nice to see the latter.

greekman - 26 Oct 2010 14:34 - 38 of 644

Having put AMAZING into Google I found Amazing Grace,

Amazing Grace was written, With a message that forgiveness and redemption are possible regardless of the sins people commit and that the soul can be delivered from despair. A bit like BIOME annual reports.

Some of the lyrics from the hymn that could fit BIOME.

I was blind, but now I see (the share price).
Through many dangers, toils and snares (all those RNS promises)
The Lord has promised good to me (for Lord substitute the Board).
When we've been here ten thousand years (yes it feels like it).

So will look forward to those Amazing results with as much Grace as I can muster, which ain't much.

robinhood - 26 Oct 2010 15:47 - 39 of 644

good to see i am not the only sucker still holding.......

watcher - 26 Oct 2010 16:44 - 40 of 644

robinhood - 26 Oct 2010 16:57 - 41 of 644

just another 4p p/s to go and i am breaking even......

kimoldfield - 26 Oct 2010 18:01 - 42 of 644

Amazingly (it's that word again) I appear to be in profit on my present holding

ssanebs - 27 Oct 2010 11:39 - 43 of 644

like the old days big trading volumes big percentage gains.......................... only the price is in fractions of pence,,, lets hope walkers do better than the asda trials

bestblinds.com - 28 Oct 2010 08:34 - 44 of 644

can anyone tell us why the forward movement in the share price at last.?

greekman - 28 Oct 2010 08:59 - 45 of 644

Hi Bestblinds,

I posted the following yesterday on a competitors site.

I admit to having done little but knock BIOM over the last few weeks, this has been down to still feeling angry at the way we were treated in the past by the management. That is probably some of the Drivel TruroBoy mentions.
I have decided that the past (hopefully) is just that, and therefore 'apologies' for many of my comments of late.
Perhaps the news that they have been recognized in Deloitte Technology Fast50 Awards Tuesday, 26th October 2010 as the second fastest growing Green Tech is encouraging, although they did drop so far down, the only way is up. That is not another moan just a fact.
So no more bashing posts from me, unless that is they go back to their old ways.
Once bitten twice shy as they say, but willing to give them another chance.
Perhaps they really have turned the corner. END

The bit about, 'They have been recognized in Deloitte Technology Fast50 Awards Tuesday, 26th October 2010 as the second fastest growing Green Tech' is probably responsible for the rise, along with the rumor that Walkers Crisps are interested in their packaging. I must state, this is only a rumor, doing the usual rounds. I hope it does not turn out to be another ASDA fiasco. Also of course there are the coming results which almost everyone is saying will be good, personally regarding the results, will wait and see.

regards Greek
