Annual General Meeting trading update - Wednesday 25th May 2005

Vislink plc ('the Group'), the leading supplier of microwave radio and satellite transmission products for the broadcast and security markets and of CCTV systems for the marine security market, held its Annual General Meeting today.

The Chief Executive Ian Scott-Gall made the following announcement to the shareholders present at the meeting.

The Group has made a promising start to the year. The Group's trading is in line with expectations and is significantly ahead of the previous year. The order inflow has been particularly good for MRC in the domestic US markets and for Hernis in its marine safety market. The Board is pleased to announce that MRC has been awarded an order in excess of $4 million for its TSSR US military radios.

Link Research Limited, which was acquired by the Group on February 11th 2005,
has made a good start. Link has now been accepted on the 2GHz programme as a supplier for wireless camera systems and continues to win new business. Its new
video cellular diversity wireless camera system was used for the first time to provide coverage for the recent University Boat Race.

The UK business is now seeing stronger international demand although the market has remained competitive. The large contract in Venezuela is expected to benefit the second half of the year with completion in the fourth quarter.

Hernis has made an encouraging start to the year with orders and operating profits in line with expectations. Hernis has seen growth in its Far East
markets with significant orders for both marine and offshore oil and gas projects.

In summary, the Board is encouraged by the current level of trading and looks forward to the rest of the year with enthusiasm and confidence.

-Ends-

squidd some excellent news here and we are on for a div end of June and those profitable results in September, the worm has turned at Vislink

squidd - 26 May 2005 16:22 - 31 of 301

PpP: I agree with you and it's good to see those splashes of blue in the PpP portfolio. But the ELA chart, with today's rise is telling me to stick to recovery stocks, so my main hope from your list is still APH to which I will probably add in due course. Thanks again for all the research you are posting.

Am looking hard at YOO which looks like a disaster area that might recover.

Vislink puts bad year behind it
Wed 25 May 2005

VLK - Vislink

LONDON (SHARECAST) - Broadcast business Vislink, which enables customers to broadcast events over the TV, managed to put a troublesome 2004 behind it today as the group said trading is significantly ahead of last year.

Chief executive Ian Scott-Gall said at the AGM today, Vislink has made a promising start to the year. The Group's trading is in line with expectations and is significantly ahead of the previous year.

Vislink said its UK business was seeing stronger international demand, although the market has remained competitive. The large contract in Venezuela is expected to benefit the second half with completion due in the fourth quarter, added the firm.

"The Board is encouraged by the current level of trading and looks forward to the rest of the year with enthusiasm and confidence," added Vislink.

In September the group shocked its shareholders saying it had dived into the red at the halfway mark, adding that a lack of demand for its products would also hit full-year 2004 profits.

Great news from www.timesonline.co.uk

1st June 2005

Vislink, the developer of TV broadcast technology, held steady at 29p, despite talk that Link Research, acquired in January for 10.75 million, has won its first US contract: a $1.8 million (990,000) deal for wireless cameras from a US broadcasting network. Taken with last weeks $4 million order for US military radios, analysts suggest there could be scope for upgrades to Vislinks forecasts.

Post copied from poster on another BB and which reads as great news.

This is an article from tomorrows IC:

Vislink

Shares in IT hardware group Vislink had a fantastic run between the beginning of November 2004 and the middle of March, gaining around 70 per cent as news of an acquisition and a major contract win were well-received.

That rally in part also reflected a recovery at the group's UK operations, which had experienced poor trading in the first half of 2004. However, the shares have since fallen from mid-March's high of 32.75p and are now looking cheap again.

Vislink supplies microwave radio and satellite transmission products to niche sectors such as the broadcast and security markets, as well as integrated CCTV (closed circuit television) systems for applications in the marine security and petroleum industries.

And final results (released in late March) revealed that, despite last year's turnover from continuing operations being flat at 67.8m (68m in 2003), Vislink had actually improved second-half sales to 37.7m from 30.1m in the first half. This increase was partly driven by the group's US-based Microwave Radio Communications (MRC) business as it benefited from a strong intake of orders, particularly from the US government.

But Vislink's UK business, despite a move to rationalise its operations into one site at the end of 2003, continued to suffer from weak sales and trading losses in the first half. After a further 1.5m was spent last year on restructuring, though - which involved operational management changes and additional cost-cutting - the business returned to profitability in December.

The group's marine safety business, Hernis, saw growth in both order intake and operating profits during the year. Currently, it is experiencing increased demand from the Norwegian oil and gas market.

For the 12 months to 31 December, the group's pre-tax loss was reduced to 809,000 (from a loss of 3.4m in 2003). Earnings per share, before goodwill amortisation and exceptionals, were flat at 1p.

The current year has got off to a good start, too, with Vislink's MRC winning an initial order of $30m to build equipment for a North American provider of wireless communications services.

Link Research - a provider of digital wireless camera systems that Vislink bought for 10.8m in January - will also profit from this deal as purchases made by MRC from Link will increase as a result of the order. The Link acquisition benefits the group as a whole because it now retains the royalties that it previously paid to Link on products supplied to Vislink, while the integration of Link's wireless camera systems with Vislink's own product offering is expected to provide opportunities for further growth.

Vislink is now expected to return to profit this year, and normalised earnings per share are set to increase by 40 per cent to 1.4p. For next year, the consensus forecast estimates earnings per share to more than double to 3.2p. Consequently, the shares represent good value.

squidd with weekend write ups I hope we can break 35p early next week here at VLK. Have you looked at CCN as it seems bottomed but any film festival update or acquisition news could see a large jump up, it will be strong in the second half (as already said by the company) but first half is just only news related moves but worth watching.

PapalPower - 09 Jun 2005 08:22 - 38 of 301

squidd an associate of mine has been in contact with Ian Scott Gall and as limited as his reply is restricted to be the response was that the bullish statements in recent announcements means that all is going well I am therefore looking forward to my dividend soon and also the results news in September. I would still class this as a buy until 35p with a higher buy level once the results are announced in September.

squidd - 13 Jun 2005 04:16 - 39 of 301

PpP: Thanks for updates on VLK. all sounds upbeat, but with summer absences now in prospect, I've had to decide not to extend the variety of my portfolio beyond what I see as classic recovery situations, which can be left unattended.
Will be keeping an occasional watch on your portfolio.

PapalPower - 13 Jun 2005 07:23 - 40 of 301

squidd I have a feeling that before summer finishes there will be exciting things on the FTSE:AIM, I am keeping an eye on a few others that are very much undervalued and out of favour but that will offer surprisingly good news in Autumn, if they keep to that potential will let you know late summer time.

If you like energy stocks take a look at TAG as it is getting like a compressed spring and should soon be ready to unleash with news flow.

squidd - 13 Jun 2005 08:52 - 41 of 301

PpP: Have read your TAG thread earlier; they desperately need your man over at RPT.

MRC Shipment of TSSR Radio Systems Breaks 1000 Mark
Released 06 June 2005

Microwave Radio Communications (MRC), a Vislink Company, announced today that it has now shipped over 1000 of its TSSR tactical microwave communications systems. The TSSR is a transportable 15 GHz microwave system that was designed to support terrestrial relay of voice and data communications from satellite and troposcatter ground stations to tactical nodes and command centers. The TSSR has also been widely deployed for connecting approach radar and surveillance radar systems with remote air traffic control systems. Shortly after the achievement of this milestone, MRC received a new $4.6 million dollar order for TSSR systems.

These events mark important landmarks for our company, said MRCs president Tony Finizio. With global events such as they are, we are pleased to provide high quality, reliable products like the TSSR that our military continues to desire for its tactical capability.

Drawing from the experience gained in more than four decades of designing and building microwave systems, MRC has been supporting military programs since the Vietnam conflict, and continues to develop a broad range of products to solve demanding point-to-point and satellite communications problems. The TSSR transportable system can be quickly deployed in the field, and readily interfaces with TRI-TAC ICD baseband signals, or AN/TAC-1 fiber optic systems.

A very nice 100K buy (31p) at above the offer price at the end today which is a good sign.

PapalPower - 24 Jun 2005 16:35 - 44 of 301

I am expecting more decent contract news as well in the 2nd half from both MRC and Link so expect an upwards rating move some time later.
