30% of your total share holding ?

cynic - 25 Oct 2010 11:17 - 266 of 1468

get a brain cell! ..... not of my total portfolio!!!!
anyway, i came to the conclusion "too far too fast" and have banked the profit at 59.50

required field - 25 Oct 2010 11:24 - 267 of 1468

Sorry....what is the 30%..?.....think of getting back in soon...more companies will be signing up to this soon...

cynic - 25 Oct 2010 12:13 - 268 of 1468

i have a notional "norm stake" ..... it follows that 30% is 30% of that!

greekman - 25 Oct 2010 14:05 - 269 of 1468

RF,

I also found Cynics post a bit confusing. We must both be a bit thick.
It is always far easier for the person stating something to understand it than it is for another person reading it.
I have sometimes posted or said, some statement that to me is as clear as day, but others have found to be as clear as mud, (especially to my wife).

I have always liked the following saying of which there are several interpretations,

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but, I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Cynic... No offense intended.

cynic - 25 Oct 2010 14:17 - 270 of 1468

i (almost) never take offense ..... i don't post the quantum of my "norm stake", as it's actually fairly irrelevant ..... however, the % of same gives an idea of my view of the risk/reward ..... personally, i thought it all pretty obvious and clear

required field - 25 Oct 2010 19:58 - 271 of 1468

This has a lot further to go but how much in the short term ?.....in the long run...2 or 3 years it could be worth as high as 10 pounds if dozens of companies step in.....at the present moment it is impossible to fathom what we could call a top before settling somewhere.....it has momentum at the moment because of the enormous potential and this is being acknowledged by investors.l

PS...I'm starting to sound like a smart Baldrick at times.....(Black Adder)...

cynic - 26 Oct 2010 08:33 - 273 of 1468

and while DES et al tumble into stygian darkness, i see AFC continues to power ahead

required field - 26 Oct 2010 08:36 - 274 of 1468

Took some profits...will keep the rest...just had to....bound to be a top and retracement at some stage....just don't know when.....super share....

cynic - 26 Oct 2010 08:43 - 275 of 1468

sensible chap .... i sold all yesterday as posted, but no regrets as was only in there at all thanks to you

greekman - 26 Oct 2010 08:50 - 276 of 1468

RF,

Also took profit. Sold just a tad over the amount that now gives me a free ride.
The sp is now up 5p over my sell price of yesterday, so not feeling smug at all.
Still a free ride is just that.
So good luck to those who have not sold any during this rise, but I just felt that AFC was just a bit too heavy in my share portfolio.
Will not be selling anymore, at leas not until they go over 1.
Might even buy some more if they have a retraction.

Cynic,

There will be many who feel that selling all your holdings in AFC is just stupid, but a nice profit is good in anyones terms. There are too many punters who concentrate on a paper profit. No matter how high that paper profit may be, it don't help you sleep at night.
A bird in the hand as they say is worth two in the bush, unless one of those is Angelina Jolie. Her I would not share, get it share. OK will not give up the day job.

required field - 26 Oct 2010 08:55 - 277 of 1468

We all agree here.....I also sold a little too early it seems and I haven't worked it out but I presume a free ride on the rest....

kimoldfield - 26 Oct 2010 08:56 - 278 of 1468

(Sigh) Likewise! Too soon, too many sold. But a profit is good. Waiting for a dip to buy back some.....will there be a dip?

greekman - 26 Oct 2010 08:58 - 279 of 1468

Bound to be a dip sometime, but I can't see this going below 60p again.

cynic - 26 Oct 2010 08:59 - 280 of 1468

i agree Greek ..... my holding was pretty small, so not worth just selling part as i commented at the time

required field - 26 Oct 2010 09:01 - 281 of 1468

70p plus.....getting fed up about selling this morning...no stopping this...

kimoldfield - 26 Oct 2010 09:05 - 282 of 1468

Pi**ed off, really pi**ed off! :o)

greekman - 26 Oct 2010 09:06 - 283 of 1468

Can't allow this to do my head in. As you say now well up today, so for an instant I was angry at myself, as obviously with selling some yesterday my gain is less than it would have been.
As said, only angry for an instant, as it is useless looking back once you have sold, especially at a profit.
Ain't hindsight a wonderful thing.

required field - 26 Oct 2010 09:08 - 284 of 1468

You cannot guess the top...if this had pilled back to say 40p....and it could have....the right thing to do.....I still have more than two thirds left.....
