Jubilee Platinum (JLP)

Sooner44 - 15 Apr 2005 08:31

Any holders out there - there's some buying going on.....

Count Brass - 07 Jul 2007 21:34 - 266 of 798

Almost right john.

Colin Bird is non-exec chairman of Pan African Resources (PAF).

Guscavalier - 12 Jul 2007 09:14 - 267 of 798

Platinum rose on news of strike call at Angloplat in South Africa, the World's largest producer, in a row over pay.

queen1 - 03 Oct 2007 08:40 - 268 of 798

Jubilee Platinum said it has received 'pleasing results' from its borehole ANT009, drilled on the Antsahabe prospect in the northern area of the Londokomanana property in Madagascar. The company said it intersected a wide zone of nickel and copper sulphide mineralisation at 30 metres depth from surface.

The Londokomanana project is a joint venture with TransAsia Minerals Ltd, which has the right to earn into 51 pct of the project for 7 mln usd.

Strange that JLP is suffering so much in light of strong platinum price and good news release re Madagascar and starting of bankable feasibility study on Tjate, etc. Very good potential here, regularly updated and increased targets over 200p from Tom Winnifrith, etc but still it slides ! Surely this will bounce back up significantly in the near future, unless there is something majorly wrong in the background, but if bad news was leaking I would expect it to crash more than slide ?! Any ideas or news rumours anyone ........?

cynic - 30 Dec 2007 07:38 - 270 of 798

extract from RNS of 13/12 tells most of the story ..... The grades are not quite economic, with deposits in the Bushveld more commonly 1 metre and 5 g/t+ 4E,' said Brock Salier, an analyst at Ambrian Capital.

there is the prob that this has very low cap, and the majority of that is likley to be tightly held .... it follows, that a very small amount of trading may easily move sp disproportionately

halifax - 30 Dec 2007 08:53 - 271 of 798

Cynic would you categorise JLP as a "blue sky company" or a "pig in a poke"?

cynic - 30 Dec 2007 14:59 - 272 of 798

no idea ... it's not a share i have ever looked at before

queen1 - 14 Feb 2008 18:24 - 273 of 798

A good rise of 11% today following weeks of declines. A dead cat bounce or the start of a recovery?

R88AVE - 14 Feb 2008 20:22 - 274 of 798

Queen I dont think this is a dead cat bounce, especially when there were over 500k buy versus 23k sells. I have been watching this for past week waited for the confirmation of turning into bull run. Looks likes its defo turned today, so I'm in.

Queens did you know there was a company presentations issued

http://www.jubileeplatinum.com/releases/jubilee_presentation_feb08.pdf

Probably explained the interest recently

queen1 - 15 Feb 2008 09:18 - 276 of 798

No I didn't but thanks for the pointer R88AVE. And welcome to JLP!

R88AVE - 18 Feb 2008 13:14 - 277 of 798

Nice steady rise I see, has it broken the downward trend then do you think Queen?

queen1 - 18 Feb 2008 14:51 - 278 of 798

Certainly another positive day so far R88AVE. The first hurdle will be to breach, and stay above, 85p. The next required breach will be about 97p. After that I don't see any reasons for the SP slowing until the 125p level, last seen in June last year.

R88AVE - 18 Feb 2008 15:13 - 279 of 798

Its up 13% in South Africa stock market today. Does UK sp usually follow day trend in other stock market?
The sp is hugely different with exchange rate consideration. Why is it that? I thought normally sp would follow similar prices.

queen1 - 18 Feb 2008 15:26 - 280 of 798

To be honest I'm not sure but 13% is again very encouraging.

queen1 - 21 Feb 2008 08:30 - 281 of 798

Jubilee Platinum said its latest Madagascar borehole, ALF008, has intersected nickel-copper sulphide mineralization on the Ambodilafa prospect with higher grade intersections assaying 0.45 pct nickel and 0.16 pct copper.

'This is another good borehole result from the base-metal sulphide mineralized area on the western margin of the prospective Ambodilafa property,' chief executive Colin Bird said.

The company said its 2008 programme, which will include a significant amount of drilling, will focus on the base-metal sulphide mineralized area as well as on the platinum discovery some 2000 metres to the east of borehole ALF008.

R88AVE - 21 Feb 2008 09:47 - 282 of 798

Good timing of the news release I was beginning to think the sp was in make or break today. Upwards and go!

required field - 21 Feb 2008 11:50 - 283 of 798

Possible climb up to 80p coming, and not too soon !

R88AVE - 22 Feb 2008 21:25 - 284 of 798

Although it was flat today its encouraging 225k buy late.

Chart.aspx?Provider=EODIntra&Code=JLP&Si

I think the falling trend since July last year has been broken

R88AVE - 26 Feb 2008 21:15 - 285 of 798

Interesting to see sp testing and finding support today. Looking at above graph it bounced off 69p mark which looks like it above downward trend line. Rather bullish i would say. Hopefully it will stay above tomorrow.
