Today, raising his price target to 524p but at the same time suggesting investors might cash in some of their gains, Seymour analyst Dr Doug Youngson said:

Gulf Keystone continues its strong run in 2012 and has surpassed our original share price target of 374p. We have reviewed our valuation for the company's 2C [contingent] resources and have now moved from the low case scenario to the best case scenario. This moves our valuation for these resources from 317p to 467p, all other assumptions remain the same.

The next major share price driver will be the result from the Ber Bahr-1 well which we expect to come in early March. Gulf Keystone has been one of the strongest performing stocks on Aim this year. Investors may want to consider taking profits ahead of the next well result to mitigate against the risk of a poor outcome.

i have now sold even more but just as i was damned if i could how high sp would go in the immediate future, i am now in a quandary for the reverse

required field - 14 Feb 2012 15:59 - 2740 of 5505

More buys than sells...tricky....I'm still in....and there's still the Total rumour...

cynic - 14 Feb 2012 16:00 - 2741 of 5505

i am too but at about 40% of what i had this morning, though in value terms i'm still o'weight here

HARRYCAT - 14 Feb 2012 16:02 - 2742 of 5505

Am tempted to have another go, if it drops a little further. Low of 365p, which I missed.

niceonecyril - 14 Feb 2012 16:39 - 2743 of 5505

376p finish.
Interesting day tomorrow,it may drop further and i won't be surprised if under 350p or even lower (for a brief moment?),over the next few days?? Inly time will yell.

Balerboy - 14 Feb 2012 17:37 - 2744 of 5505

Had a limit buy of 370 on for rest of day but didn't quite get there, think 360 might be on the cards for tomorrow which is where it stopped on friday and might hold till next news........wouldn't want to be out of these at the mo........where is gibby by the way?

Iraq news
Deputy PM says ExxonMobil must soon respond to Baghdad's ultimatum and freeze deals in Kurdistan or else lose all opportunities in southern iraq.
By Ben Lando of Iraq Oil Report
Published February 14, 2012 Iraq's central government said ExxonMobil will soon need to freeze or pull out of the contracts it signed with the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region or else lose both its venture in the super-giant West Qurna 1 and the rights to bid in an upcoming licensing round.

"ExxonMobil is quite aware of the position of the government of Iraq," Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Hussain al-Shahristani said in an interview with Iraq Oil Report. "They have been told they have to make a decision and inform us...

don't understand that link cyril???

niceonecyril - 15 Feb 2012 00:05 - 2748 of 5505

BB the pinks is a some forum on which the yanks can trade GKP,so todays finish
is $5.97.

onvert US Dollar to British Pound
$ 1 = £ 0.6371
$ 1 = £ 0.6371

0.6371*5.97= 380p

Balerboy - 15 Feb 2012 08:11 - 2749 of 5505

Doesn't seem to apply to here then cyril 365 - 372 at mo.,.

niceonecyril - 15 Feb 2012 08:46 - 2750 of 5505

BB they were not that far off our close, they tend to follow. 7p spread the largest for sometime, would suggest the mm's are expecting a bit of selling today, seems the Guardian advised selling prior to drilling news(do they know something or are they being ultra cautious?)and it looks like they are?
Will watch for the bottom before making any decision whether to buy more,by that i mean a ewasonable recovery to the SP.

Balerboy - 15 Feb 2012 09:35 - 2751 of 5505

Just what i'm doing at mo.,. gl

cynic - 15 Feb 2012 09:54 - 2752 of 5505

7p spread????? ...... who deals for you as real spread is currently 0.75p ..... bought 1/2 back this morning at 374.5 .... true bottom this morning was about 369 from memory; currently 378.25 mid

required field - 15 Feb 2012 10:08 - 2753 of 5505

The trouble now could be : is the next oil flow test in the sp ?.....perhaps not all of it...perhaps another 50p is to be added to the current total....but more than that ?....I'd be surprised......perhaps 400p is the top for the moment....and unless a takeover emerges and that you cannot be sure of with already a three billion market cap then the sp will hover around the four pound mark for the next few months or so after these next well results.

cynic - 15 Feb 2012 10:15 - 2754 of 5505

on that basis, you could use "surplus" stock to trade

robertalexander - 15 Feb 2012 10:20 - 2755 of 5505

in at 3.79 hopefully will do better than ORE which cost me a £50 loss. [serves me right for chasing them on the up]. going the right way so far but 10 mins is hardly an investment period ;)
