BB they were not that far off our close, they tend to follow. 7p spread the largest for sometime, would suggest the mm's are expecting a bit of selling today, seems the Guardian advised selling prior to drilling news(do they know something or are they being ultra cautious?)and it looks like they are?
Will watch for the bottom before making any decision whether to buy more,by that i mean a ewasonable recovery to the SP.

The trouble now could be : is the next oil flow test in the sp ?.....perhaps not all of it...perhaps another 50p is to be added to the current total....but more than that ?....I'd be surprised......perhaps 400p is the top for the moment....and unless a takeover emerges and that you cannot be sure of with already a three billion market cap then the sp will hover around the four pound mark for the next few months or so after these next well results.

on that basis, you could use "surplus" stock to trade

in at 3.79 hopefully will do better than ORE which cost me a £50 loss. [serves me right for chasing them on the up]. going the right way so far but 10 mins is hardly an investment period ;)

Looks like tide has turned in the USA,for the time being(profit taking)as thDJ seems to have run out of steam? How low will they allow it to falll is the $64m question? It will have an impact on all narkets imho,so some bargains could present themselves.
Gkp could fall a little further(350p?),although sentimet along with oending news should help to ride any sharp retrace?
Keep in mind what we have BILLIONS OF BARRELS OF OIL and the it won't go away,a much prized commodity which will only become moreso as we are possibly pased PEAK OIL?

funny you should say that cyril, i sold some afr at 132p to go into gkp at a chosen low but not happened, but today afr dipping to 127p if it were to go to 125p i'llprob go back. is this dip caused by gkp?? or just coincidence?

BB it might be worth hanging on,at least until it settles. Some of these corrections can be brutal, they run it to the top of the hill and THEY CAN run it down again?

cynic do you honestly think a major oil company is going to spend billions buying into GKP when Iraq may disintegrate into civil war at any moment?

hali - the oil majors are already piling back into southern iraq, though it gets little publicity ..... if gkp has indeed made a mega discovery, then the long term risk/reward could (not would) certainly make the company a very tasty morsel at a risk-adjusted price

By Ben Lando of Iraq Oil Report
Published February 17, 2012 Iraq is looking to enlist private companies to build four new refineries with the combined ability to process 740,000 barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil, which would help Iraq fulfill its dreams of becoming a net fuels exporter.
