BIG BOX BINGO BEATS THE "SMOKING BAN" (NPT)

Still Waiting - 17 Mar 2007 23:05

Going live in Q2:-

http://www.bigboxbingo.com/

NetPlay TV are launching Big Box Bingo Q2 2007 - this will be a unique TV and online bingo experience.
The combination of a quality live TV show, marking off bingo cards in your own home, and big cash prizes is a winning combination. With over 70% of UK bingo customers smoking - the smoking ban in July 2007 will, we believe, drive many traditional bingo customers to look for an alternative formof participation.

Once you've joined the bingo club, members receive bingo tickets direct to their home which can then be activated by phone.

".....Martin Higginson, the entrepreneur who founded controversial ringtone firm Monster Mob, is now chairman of NetPlay TV - a quoted interactive gaming firm that is growing rapidly. Last summer, it launched its first Mobile gaming product, Quids In. Today it has more than 50,000 regular players generating in excess of 200,000 a month. He says mobile-phone gambling will become 'a serious proposition' from next year. Today, he says, just 20 per cent of Britons have the necessary third-generation mobile phones.

NetPlay is currently licensed in the UK, unlike most inter-active gambling firms, which are based in offshore locations, such as Gibraltar, to avoid tax. Soon NetPlay will follow them. It admitted in a recent trading statement that it is looking to go offshore to boost profits...... "

Here we are ,full text from financial section. page 3
ITV is understood to be ready to launch a late night live bingo show on weekdays from midnight to 6am. viewers would download cards from the internet and use them to play games screened during the evening. Money won from the games would be put into viewers'ITVBingo.com accounts.

ITVBingo.com is run by online betting Giant PartyGaming.ITV which last week lost the broadcast rights to Formula 1, has big ambitions for the show. It hopes the deal will replace the revenues it lost when it was forced to shut ITV Play, its decredited late-night, phone in competition programmes. Last, year ITV and the BC were slammed for running numerous competitions where viewers had no realistic chance of winning. It was also found that viewers had participated in competitions where the broadcasters doctored the results to suit themselves.

Page6 Old - timers call the shots

With Bruce Forsyth still going strong at 80, its good to see the careers of a few other old-timers get a much needed shot in the arm.
NetPlay TV, the gaming company that produces many of those interactive games n Sky, has hired ageing comedians Jim Bowen and Cannon & Ball to present a live TV bingo show, which will be shown on satelite cable and Freeview.
The man behind NetPlay is Martin "Lord of the Ringtones" Higginson, formerly chief executive of MonsterMob, the company that helped make the Crazy Frog famous.
