If this is true....then what with the discovery last week, the possibility of a huge strike at the bottom of the Shaikan well....there will be crazy ups and downs for the sp in this company.....

I think it is a case of what the next stage of drilling brings to determine any possible buyout. If the primary zones come in on target or near to, then its game on imo.

I think the key players already know what they've got and all is being played out behind the scenes--the poor pi can only guess! I did read however on the otherside a poster comment that the site foreman bought 140K shares early last week---leaky leaky! Here's to another good week.

we made a bob or two on this one last week, but are wary that this might turn out to be another VOG.

i'm not sure VOG ever found anything of significance, and remember that got to 250 before it collapsed

VOG sort-of did, but it was never borne out by the facts ..... are you (sorry, "we"!)now going to say the same about GKP? .... in fact, did you not also cast doubts on the veracity of TLW's or HOIL's finds in Uganda?

contemplating going back into GKP having taken an excellent profit last week, but see their situation in Iraq as similar to TLW's etc finds in Uganda..... no pipeline yet.

perhaps they'll order spaceships too then!

just as a guideline, average volume here is about 5.5m a day .... as at now, today's traffic is 10.5m, with much two-way biz as sp is a tad down on the day

"Gulf Keystone Petroleum has successfully spudded its first well in Kurdistan.
The firm said drilling on its first exploration well, Shaikan-1, on the Shaikan Block, is anticipated to take four to five months to complete."

It took them 3 months to drill to 1500M. Terminal depth is still approximately 6-8 weeks away, which means that the sp is likely to drift back, imo. I would be happy to buy in sub 23p.

those fortunate enough to subscibe to the recent placing at 9p have made a killing in just a few days so some profit taking would be expected.

or even thosre who bravely followed shares mag buy suggestion last week at just 12p - not me i'm afraid

"we" would be modestly surprised if agm had anything of great importance to impart .....

however, and despite share mags note of caution today, GKP still looks quite a good bet insofar as (a) kurdistan not as hostile an environment as some places and (b) there may be further good news to come from that quarter in due course

We are back in GKP but missed the GPX boat which may be a tad expensive to board now.

as you note, i disagree about GPX, though to be honest, i am already very well in the money there and even i am not tempted to cash in
