Chart looks promising db, just needs some volume.

Nice chart Chris and I would expect the volumes to increase over the next few weeks in the run up to the half-year results.

Trial Ebola vaccine set for January rollout in West Africa, WHO says
F. Brinley Bruton
NBC News

"It will be deployed in the form of trials," said Dr. Marie Paule Kieny, the WHO's assistant director general for health systems and innovation. In a briefing with journalists Tuesday, she said that this would be a continuation of smaller trials conducted in Europe. "I'm talking about tens of thousands of doses, not millions," she said.

The WHO, in consultation with health authorities in the countries most affected by the outbreak of the disease that has killed more than 4,500, will decide on how the experimental vaccine will be distributed and used. About 1,000 people a week are being infected with Ebola, according to the organization, which has warned the number could rise to between 5,000 and 10,000 a week.

The WHO has cautioned that experimental vaccines cannot immediately help to control the worsening epidemic, but could be used to help protect the health workers needed to get it under control.

An experimental Ebola vaccine could be in use in West Africa in the form of trials as early as January, the World Health Organization said on Tuesday.

So good news above then, although sentiment will take a battering at least until the trend in deaths come down which is forecast to be around next summer according to the WHO.

If your still short you could get caught out here over the next couple of weeks GF ,
needs some volume to get going but if the market keeps bouncing back i can see this going up.

Hi Jimmy,

took a slug of profit off the top a few days back and now losing on my S Bet but only slightly.

Have you checked their fuel hedging policy going up to mid 2016 from recollection. Doesnt look good to me.

Good news Ebola is at last getting talked down.........but for how long.

Ill tough it out for a while yet and see how it breaks.

CR on the advfn board doesnt seem overly impressed mind having said that this last month hes obviously been too exposed overall on the market and must have lost a packet.

Good luck either way.

Increase in flights between Stornoway and Glasgow
Published: 21 October 2014

Flybe franchise partner Loganair is increasing its frequency between Stornoway and Glasgow as part of the airline’s 2014/15 winter schedule.

Commencing on Wednesday, October 29th, the Stornoway to Glasgow route will continue with its summer pattern of 48 flights per week, instead of scaling the schedule down for the winter months.

A further four services per week will operate during the winter months, meaning Stornoway will continue to be served by four daily departures on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in line with the summer frequency.

Phil Preston, chief operating officer at Loganair, said: “Additional frequency to Scotland’s largest city offers increased choice for our business and leisure passengers during the winter months.

“This will be a boost for holiday makers as well as residents of Stornoway who work on the mainland or travel onwards to overseas destinations.

“The increased winter frequency to and from one of the country’s busiest airport should open up a number of different travel options with our code-share partners, British Airways and franchise partner Flybe.”

Nice steady rise over the last few days .

Looks like they have dumped a load more routes if the the Facebook page is anything to go by - any idea for reasoning behind it?
If I am not mistaken they are also dumping routes set up recently such as southampton to hamburg - they must be paying out a lot in refunds and compensation!!!!!!!!!!!

Now just to show how I was pointing out FLYB have hedged there fuel at HIGHER prices than competitors and also just to show how they have lost out on the present low Oil Price.

From last update....

Hedging

Flybe UK's current hedge books[1] are summarised below (all hedges are forward swaps).

Jet fuel
· Q2 2014/15 - 80% hedged at $962 per tonne
· H2 2014/15 - 68% hedged at $961 per tonne
· H1 2015/16 - 64% hedged at $945 per tonne

EZJ

easyJet's current hedging position is set out below:

Percentage of anticipated requirement hedged
Fuel requirement

1. Full year ending 30 September 2015
78%
Average rate
$948 / metric tonne

2. Full year ending 30 September 2016
52%
Average rate
$928 / metric tonne

As you can see FLYB have hedged at a higher price than EZJ and ALSO have Hedged a bigger % of there fuel which means EZJ can purchase fuel NOW at the low price on the market and gain a competitive position.

Can FLYB cut back on margins to match EZJ and Other airlines?

Fair Doo's GF but i still think this could put on a few quid if we have a good market

goldfinger - 24 Oct 2014 03:10 - 301 of 832

Yep but good market after this ebola patient in US tonight.

Getting tiresome. Bad news after bad news for the whole market. 1 thing after another.

People who went to bed early will think futures will have followed US up. No chance now.

Flybe's winter schedule set to take off
by MT

Flybe starts operating its 2014-15 winter schedule this Sunday, 26th October with four routes available from the Island to Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester and the return of its popular ski route to Geneva that is being extended through to 12th April 2015 to accommodate Easter holiday travel.  In total, Flybe offers a choice of up to 116 flights a week with one way fares from £24.99 including taxes and charges.
This is the third winter season for Flybe’s successful Manchester hub from where Isle of Man passengers are increasingly taking advantage of by-passing congested London airports to make more convenient, seamless onward connections. This can be either onward with other Flybe regional services or farther afield to an extensive selection of long haul destinations through its various codeshare partners, when booked through a travel agent. The most recent of these is with Finnair to Helsinki and onwards to its many destinations that includes 15 in Asia.
Paul Simmons, Flybe’s Chief Commercial Officer, comments: “Regional connectivity is Flybe’s mission and we have worked hard to maintain the continuity we know is so important on the Island’s critical daily lifeline link to and from Liverpool.”
Flybe is always looking at ways to provide improved benefits for its customers and the start of the winter schedule also sees the airline welcome Avios on board with a new travel rewards programme, and Spend & Fly, a simpler way to earn flights with Flybe’s credit card.  There is also a new secure onsite parking option offered at most of the UK airports from which it operates when making an online booking -  and it will always be the closest available possible to the terminal.
Adds Mr Simmons: “We look forward to welcoming our Isle of Man passengers on board this winter so they can experience for themselves  ‘the fastest way from A to Flybe!”
