Got me paper, states Britain leads dash for oil in war torn Africa state. We are involved in a secret high speed dash for the oil in Somalia, with the government offering humanitarian aid and security assistance in a hope of a stake in the beleaguered countrys future energy industry. Talks are going on between the
british officials and somali counterparts over exploiting oil reserves that have been explored in the North. Sounds from whats written Britain is in.

The minister of international cooperation in Puntland Abdulkadir Abdi Hashi in charge of brokering deals for the oil reserves said Somalia was looking to BP as the partner they wanted to '' help us exploreand build our oil capacity'' They plan to talk to Bp at the right time. Thought Hillary Clinton would be meeting the Somali prime minister.
So the real corporate goal may well be not whats due to arrive on the surface next month but what is known to be under the Indian ocean off Somalias coast - where sovereignty is unclear. David Cameroon had said at the meeting pipes to the ports had been laid, this was in London at the conference.

The headlines are on the front of the paper and a whole page 10 inside.
This reads nice - African oil estimates there could be up to 4bn barrels about $500bn
worth at todays price in its two drilling plots. Other surveys indicate that Puntland
province alone has the potential to yield 10 billion barrels, placing it in the top 20 countries holding oil. For the first time in 20 years the country is safe enough to drill.
Chinease and us firms are among those understood to have also voiced interest for the potential for oil.

Yet it is the extent of the oil deposits beneath the Indian ocean that is most exciting Somali officials . One said the potential was comparible to that of KUWAIT, which has more than 100bn barrels of proven oil reserves. If true Somalia would become the seventh largest oil -rich nation.
THERE WE GO THIS READS WELL TO - The state owned China national offshore
oil corp has tried to aquire an interest in Somalias reserves. Senior officials in the
Somali transitional government are adamant that the imminent extraction of oil in Puntland next month would kickstart A SCRAMBLE FROM THE MULTINATIONALS.
Sit back Rangers.

I spoke to them when we were fast racing to 24 pence last year. Halifax said they deal with first come first served, which is fair. So you can place a negotiated order anytime over the weekend for Monday. Having said that if there was no rush for shares at 8am on Monday, then you have left it for them to purchase on your behalf.
Its a case of guessing how the market will react Monday morning?

something else I thought of, if range are forced to put our an rns asking why bla, bla ,bla. Just wonder what they will say as Horn are the drill operators and should take the lead in any news. Could well be a few telephone calls. Could again be interesting.

Thanks 3m, You get a big bottle of gin in to celebrate as well 3m. PL selling off the 20% of Puntland to RMP (as it was 60% horn, 40% range) but now 20% range looks
very cheap now for 3 million. Hmmmmmmmm And they are good buddies , I bet they are even more now.

You have well confused me DC do I get RMP instead? I know that is up to me but got me thinking? I know you have RMP as well but where does it say PL is selling off 20% of Puntland and why would he want to if Range is going well there or have I lost the plot? I had better get to bargain booze Gin is on offer there well (Greenhalls Gin) is.

Its your choice 3m . Rmp In my view are more risky, due to having a 20% share in Puntland/Georgia. They have another mining asset cannot remember what. With far less shares they move quicker than Range, but remember what will happen if there is not so good news. Range are underpinned with other assets if Puntland does not go right. choices, choices.
