PIPEX COMMUNICATIONS - TIPPED FOR 2004 (PXC)

moneyman - 03 Jan 2004 20:03

Tipped by the independent 2/01/2004

........."And so to our traditional "wild card". Pipex Communications, formerly known as GX Networks, is a telecoms company created by one of the entrepreneurs behind Ukbetting, Peter Dubens. It has been assembled from six smaller players. The ambitious company is generating cash for the first time but is still not widely followed in the City. It could be an undiscovered gem".

"House broker Collins Stewart has set a short term price target of 14p but believes that there is material upside to this price in the next 18 months. Consensus forecasts are for 6.9 million pre tax profits for this year, more than doubling to 13.9 million in 2005"

Thats oviously why there are now over 4 Million shares bought today with no increase!!! Frustrating or what

janesteve - 26 Aug 2004 16:27 - 291 of 1874

can anyone tell me if those big trades this afternoon were buys or sells....thanks

willfagg - 26 Aug 2004 16:40 - 292 of 1874

Someone's having a laugh. 8.5 Million buys! Then 4.5 million share transaction as the market is closing. You would think someone has been instructed not to let the price go over 8.00pence.

Troys - 26 Aug 2004 16:44 - 293 of 1874

Its no fair to us small investors when the mm do not play on a level playing field. Wish I knew what those trades were too. Again good healthy buys and we get nothing.

Troys - 26 Aug 2004 16:51 - 294 of 1874

They look like sells at 7.75. not sure though

janesteve - 26 Aug 2004 16:54 - 295 of 1874

i agree that the trades going through at 7.75 must be sells but there was also a 3000000 @ 7.82....was that a buy.....does anyone know

Mack1705 - 26 Aug 2004 17:01 - 296 of 1874

zscrooge,

do the Collins Stewart projections include the recent acquisition of Accent?

ptholden - 27 Aug 2004 09:26 - 297 of 1874

Funny old day again, over 2 million buys NIL sells and the preice hasn't changed. Does anyone know how much stock the MMs are sitting on. It would be useful to know how much of an overhang there is in this share.

Regards

PTH

Mack1705 - 27 Aug 2004 12:51 - 298 of 1874

my guess would be an institution is bailing out big time on the back of renewed retail investor demand on the run up to the results....

I don't have a good feeling about whats happening here, hope I am wrong!

Happy1 - 27 Aug 2004 14:08 - 299 of 1874

Mack if "an" institution is bailing out then there are others sitting on big losses !

Could it be that it is being shorted on the Berlin exchange ? it is listed there !

If it is then when they close........................WOOSH

Oakapples142 - 27 Aug 2004 14:26 - 300 of 1874

Had a look at YAHOO - It lists PXC in Berlin with a price of 0.9 Euros but does not show any trading

AdieH - 27 Aug 2004 14:58 - 301 of 1874

This could be the ghost exchange they were talking about.

janesteve - 27 Aug 2004 15:03 - 302 of 1874

6000000 trade just gone through 7.77 can anyone confirm whether it is a buy or sell

janesteve - 27 Aug 2004 15:12 - 303 of 1874

2 more trades @ 3250000 @ 7.85 are these buys or sells

Balli - 27 Aug 2004 15:28 - 304 of 1874

Oakapples142 - 27 Aug 2004 15:58 - 307 of 1874

zscrooge - 27 Aug 2004 16:07 - 308 of 1874

Loads of info here

On the positive side, when a company manages to delist itself or a company deals with the issue, then the shorters have to cover their positions and this may lead to a positive outcome for sp.
