chocolat, have you seen the scrolling message at the top of this thread ;-) ???

stockbunny - 01 Apr 2005 10:11 - 2908 of 24230

Terrible Choccie - I'd send the 'boys' round there el-pronto
to sort the geezer out - this (in best bugs bunny voice) means war!
Of course this person wont get a penny from the bunny community.
The head of bunny covert operations (the BAS) will hatch a plan and spring
the captive bunny. I'll give him a call now.......

Spaceman - 01 Apr 2005 10:13 - 2909 of 24230

That's a start to the day, my email has gone down! No service issues with telewest. Bit of a problem. Perhaps it will cure itself while I go shopping :-)

stockbunny - 01 Apr 2005 10:42 - 2915 of 24230

Keep your fingers crossed Opto

Ok I'm playing computer sharing today, so will be going offair until
about 2pm so allow number two son to go on messenger with his mates.
(I know two computers wouldn't be a bad idea..)

Oh yes number one son got a shock, snapped by cctv a couple of weeks
back at almost midnight in a bus-lane, nice crystal clear photo of
his motor and him and his mate in it! How to part with 50, he was not
impressed........

What goes 'bleep' in the night?
This perplexing question was rattling around the bunny's brain last night,
after she went to bed, curled up to sleep and.....

BLEEP!

Half an eye open....???????

Well it's not carried on so maybe someone disabling their car alarm....

(Almost asleep)

BLEEP!

??????????

BLEEP!

OK had enough now - what is that?
Out onto landing....BLEEP!....Ah lousy smoke alarm - battery is low!

(gets ladder, roots about for a new battery, get up ladder, fights
to remove old battery which was extremely stubborn about it, replaces
with new battery, equally stubborn about NOT going in, puts ladder back
and crawls back into bed)

BLEEP!

*&^$%$%$!!!!
(use your imagination!)

(Out of bed again, get ladder, up ladder, check connection on
smoke alarm, test smoke alarm - went down really well with other
sleepers in the house! - put ladder back, crawl into bed)

BLEEP!

&*&%$%$!!!! ^&*&$%$!!!!!

(out of bed, get ladder, extract new battery from smoke alarm with
vengence, leave smoke alarm cover open, put ladder back and crawl
back into bed)

(peace)

(just falling asleep and son comes up to go to bed and puts head
round bedroom door and said "Did you sort that smoke alarm out then?")

%$^&&*&"""!!!!!!!!
Awake again!!!!!!

Spaceman - 01 Apr 2005 11:30 - 2917 of 24230

Buuny when we first got a smoke alarm many years ago we forgot that it had a battery, about 2 years later we kept hearing this very short loud screech which we could not place but which we though was bird so we spent hours looking alover the house to find this bird..

Except of course, well you can guess.

Sounds like No one son has used up his spending money for this weekend ! Was the bus lane active at the time of the photo?

little willie - 01 Apr 2005 14:00 - 2918 of 24230

Don't expect the Pope's on the creme de menthe at the moment, Big Al!

stockbunny - 01 Apr 2005 14:01 - 2919 of 24230

Spacie - we do have all night buses so technically they can say
it was in use or the buses were running at that time.
What gets me is it's 40 for illegal parking and 50 for straying
into a bus lane?

LOL - ahh you wont mistake the 'screeching bird' again my friend!
;>)

optomistic - 01 Apr 2005 14:15 - 2920 of 24230

Bunny isn't there a time that entry into the bus lane is allowed i.e. off peak time?
We don't have much of a bus lane system here but when I travelled to Manchester I just had to keep out of them at peak times.
Looking on the bright side I think he would have had his ticket by now, fingers crossed.

stockbunny - 01 Apr 2005 14:30 - 2921 of 24230

He got it yesterday and I posted the cheque for him this morning,
nice picture mind you! ;>)

Spaceman - 01 Apr 2005 14:36 - 2922 of 24230

Bunny, I think the important thing is what the signs say for that bit of bus lane, it might be worth checking as they could have made a mistake.

A good friend of mine was summonsed many years ago for "driving a Mercedes in a bus", he has a lot more guts than me and attended court and would only say that it is impossible to drive a Mercedes in a bus and he refused to accept that it was obvious what they had meant to write, After some time they adjourned his case and a few weeks later he got a letter saying they were going to take no further actions.
