"Many Somalis now wonder why Britain is so interested in the country after neglecting it for years",

I would say one of the reasons were the civil war that lasted for nearly 20 years, but you can bet your bottom dollar that they've been receiving foreign aid from the UK?.

dreamcatcher - 03 Mar 2012 13:47 - 2929 of 5221

I would not guess it was OIL by any chance. :-))

dreamcatcher - 03 Mar 2012 13:49 - 2930 of 5221

Britain looks like it can earn a lot of money from setting the country up with infrustructure and advice.

As long as us share holders get a fare share as well ? This should be sitting at 20P
now. Lets hope it gets a move on next week.

Just came across this summary tu someone wondering whether to invest?

Mypension,

Look at the market cap and then look at:

a: The production in Texas and imminent results from Smith 2 & Albrecht 1, then move P2 reserves into P1 and sell on and buy back the shares or partake in a further 4 wells.

b: TT bought for £52M including drilling company with 8 rigs, recent rns upgrade by 490% p1 reserves in one of the licences purchased (Beach Marcelle), with further CPR under way for the remaining acreage and the Herara formations which were not included in the original reserves estimate which could have an addition 10-12mmbls in multiple formations then you can see why there is so much anticipation about the 100% owned TT asset.

* Increase in Proved (P1) Reserves in Trinidad by 490% from 2.6 Mmbbls to
15.4 Mmbbls

* The 12.8 Mmbbls increase in Proved (P1) Reserves has independent valuation
(PV10) of approximately US$ 290MM

* Proposed production program (from new reserves) of 1m-1.5m bbls per year
for a minimum of 8 years.

c: Puntland we are 7 weeks into a 12 week drill of the:

* Spudding of the Shabeel-1 well, the first of two planned landmark
exploration wells, in the Dharoor Valley, Puntland, Somalia

* The first oil exploration well to be drilled in over 20 years in Puntland
targeting Prospective Resources of over 300 million barrels of oil (mean
100% basis)

* Initial operations also commenced on the Shabeel North-1 well (second
exploration well)

Back to back drills, rumours have been rife that oil has already been found, test equipment on route according to last RNS.

d: Georgia first well not successful, new seismic being shot and re-assessed to find new drill location spudding due early April.

* In the Republic of Georgia, Range holds a 40% farm-in interest in onshore
blocks VIa and VIb, covering approx. 7,000sq.km. Currently, Range has
recently completed a 410km 2D seismic program with independent consultants
RPS Energy identifying 68 potential structures containing and estimated
2.045 billion barrels of oil-in-place.

e: Range is currently in the process of upgrading to the US OTCQX from the OTC Pink and 643m shares have been moved from the AIM for the float, this will lead to less manipulation and with shares being traded on 3 exchanges will ease liquidity, a 600,000 mailshot is being sent out on Monday in the US and there will be a lot of coverage state side. I can now confirm that the 6th March is the date for the upgrade and the code will be RGRYD for 15 trading days then change to RGRYY.

f: Colombian onshore deal in due diligence could be announced in the very near future.

g: Offshore Puntland deal with joint venture partner MES.

h: All this for just 12.75p per share and you get the best CEO of any AIM listed company.

i:DYOR

Read the RNS, watch the videos etc on the Range website, buy a load and sit back and relax.

Good luck and enjoy your pension.

Langyboy.

Big rumours flying about tonight. :-))

dreamcatcher - 04 Mar 2012 23:40 - 2939 of 5221

Range up 2.8% at this time on the ASX

dreamcatcher - 05 Mar 2012 00:01 - 2940 of 5221

Seems to be held again at 19 c with a big wall on the ASX. No doubt very soon the wall will be smashed. Perhaps Tuesday when Range gains its new listing in the US.

dreamcatcher - 05 Mar 2012 06:13 - 2941 of 5221

From the RRL homepage up 5.56% on the ASX

skinny - 05 Mar 2012 06:19 - 2942 of 5221

Yep 0.19 + 5.6% :-)

dreamcatcher - 05 Mar 2012 06:19 - 2943 of 5221

Have we commercial oil or not. It makes you think with so many investors following this, will the companies have to give out news earlier then first stated. Leaks seem to be occuring with the large rise at RMP on the ASX this morning. Sps all going the right way anyway, so looks a good day ahead.

http://dissidentnation.com/puntland-drilling-reaches-1850-meters/Puntland Drilling Reaches 1,850 Meters

A depth of 1,850 Meters has been reached at the Shabeel-1 well in the Dharoor valley in Somalia’s federal state of Puntland, where oil is expected to be extracted this month for the first time in Somalia’s history.

Workers present at the site stated that until this point every target has been reached, with the expectations of the project met at every step. Workers say that the end of the current Shabeel-1 well project is coming to a close and that there is a great sense of excitement in the camp.

The current Shabeel-1 well exploration is expected to end in the coming weeks and will reveal the first results of the hunt for petroleum in Puntland.

Thanks to nosrepon on ii, On 23rd Feb they were at 1230M and according to rumors now at 1850, if true they have drilled 620M in the last 11days. At 1850 they should have just passed the 412M thick Jesomma (1402-1814M) area into the next Gumbero level (1814-2560M).

According to RPS CPR Jesomma is expected to have 59.8MMbl (net to RMP and equal amount net to RRL) and the next level of Gumbero is expected to have 33.2 MMbl net to each RRL and RMP.

That is a total of 93MMbl to each. This is little over half the volume expected in this well. The deeper Jurassic is expected to have 88MMbl net to each in primary and secondary reservoirs.

Therefore they are halfway down in terms of volume find. Just as the depths indicated in the previous rumors turned out to be correct, the current rumor of depth at 1850 sounds correct as they seem to have drilled 620M in 11 days i.e. 56M/day. In fact Jesomma's 1402 to 1814 reservoir sands should have been drilled much quicker as there is less resistance unless there have been delays due to other problems. I suspect they are already much deeper than what rumors state and they have already flow tested Jesomma before any rumors are allowed to leak out.

The timing of the rumors are also interesting. As they are at the bottom of Jesomma perhaps it is time to leak out something as it is a significant level, may be the bottom of this flow testing level.

At 1850 they should be entering the next level of Gumbero which is about 746M thick and contains about 33.2MMbl. After that they will reach the 121M top seal of the Jurassic under which has Primary and Secondary reservoirs containing 88MMbl which is less than half the oil to be discovered. According to RPS CPR in Dharoor it is more likely to have major part of oil in Jesomma than Primary and Secondary reservoirs and vice versa for Nugaal.

Every time a level is leaked it has some significance. Drilling through Gumbero (current level) should be quick as it is partly reservoir.

Expect news sooner than anticipated and there is still time to enter because the Big Boys will take a few days before they make a decision around the table. They may also wait for more definite news. IMHO - No recommendation
