Big buyers mopping up all the lose shares from the shorting campaign.

Hard luck to those who sold out only to watch this happening.

Cold snap coming, North America.

Stupid way to run a business ain't it?

Ah ha! New entries to the thread. Must be Tuesday!

Morning team. Today's drilling report is a bit lack lustre. I'm hoping for much better news to come out in 2 weeks time as they commence flow testing on Tiof-6. Hopefully confirmatory news of the volume and quality of the oil when coupled with rising oil prices as we enter the 'US heating oil bonanza' period should see a nice pick up in SEY sp.

I was also just looking at the sp chart over the last year. We appear to have developed a 'head and shoulders' pattern over the last couple of months. Now I'm not an exponent of charting, but I seem to recall from somewhere that this could be a good indication of a break-out. I might be wrong, of course. Never did understand the chartist's approach - but the trouble is that so many other people do, and believe and act on what they think the charts are saying.

Sorry, I'm rambling now. That's sww's job (LOL).

Oi!!!!!!

lol

SWW, good spot the other day with the Berge Helene tanker post. If they can start producing any oil by y/e 2005 then I would be happy with that as it would be slightly ahead of schedule. However, y/e 05 or Q1 06 doesn't make too much difference, but the earlier the better.

From today's RNS re Tiof 6:

"Progress and Current Status:
Since the last report on 13 January 2005 the West Navigator has completed casing
and cementing operations and suspended the Tiof-6 well for future production
flow testing. Wireline data has confirmed the thickness of the oil column, and
the well will be re-entered once the rig has completed drilling commitments on
the Chinguetti Field. It is expected that once re-entered preparations for
testing the well will take 1-2 weeks."

So it would seem to be a good few weeks at least before results from this well.

morning all...thx for the kind words above. i will keep eye on my little one with regards to his future allegences. the funny thing is that my father was born into a spurs family and he was taken to his first game (Arsenal) at the tender age of 5 by an uncle and he loved it. his father (who ususally worked on saturday) then took him to a tottenham game the next week but my father was not for turning. thankfully he also saw the light!

SEY - hopefully these announcents are what is needed to turn these around. it really feels like a bit of tree shaking going on at those guys from the placement creating a bit of overhang.

proptrade - 18 Jan 2005 12:53 - 2942 of 7811

5 million sale and stock up .5. clearing the overhang as above?

aimtrader - 18 Jan 2005 15:43 - 2943 of 7811

prop,

overhang??? if they bought at 17p, why would they be selling now???

you seem to be suggesting they have or are selling, which would means they have taken a loss, are you sure???

seawallwalker - 18 Jan 2005 16:09 - 2944 of 7811

aimtrader the info on advfn was that one of the placing holders was selling their holding, that was the week before last, price went to 14.25p.

Mind you looking at what is ging on today mystifies me.

The sells, and that is what they are make the share go up?

Are the mm out to lunch still, or did they have a liquid one?

That and the buys after are near the top end, con the sells be buys, but sold at a discount to clear?

I think they can.

If they are the price will be up again tomorrow I would have thought.

lizard - 18 Jan 2005 16:36 - 2945 of 7811

very confusing- serious volume- I think this must be in relation to shares moving around from placing?-

proptrade - 19 Jan 2005 10:14 - 2946 of 7811

aimtrader...the overhang is just related to the placed stock. thos out for a quick turn may just dump this money in favour of other investments. out of the whole placing there would be a percentage that will be long term holders and a few flippers who are now bored and want out. likewise there may be resistance at above 17 p for a while and then there will be a clear breakout through 20p.
one mans humble opinion.

namreh3 - 19 Jan 2005 13:23 - 2947 of 7811

Nous showing through, Prop. Share ownership (lest we forget), unless you are particularly astute, lucky, bent or a combination of the former, is a medium or long term play. In these small cap oils one day can make you a few quid (cf Cairn) but sound companies can allow you to retire early if you hold your nerve, take a calculated risk and play the game in years not weeks.
(PS trust sprog and significant other are ok)

proptrade - 19 Jan 2005 13:31 - 2948 of 7811

great thx! i agree with medium/long play...lets just wait and see. of course rumours and stories are great for a few quick bucks but research stories like this take time and hopefully pay HUGE dividends!

seawallwalker - 19 Jan 2005 13:55 - 2949 of 7811

I hope you have been awake every night at 2am like I was for all 3 of mine.

Guess what, the eldest is 21 and she still has me up till the small hours worrying about her..................

Hey we ticked up!

Stock overhang under done and over cast I reckon with sunny intervals between showers.......
