Previously "New Media Spark", they took in a large European investment business as on the face of it...it looks like a reasonable deal, although I don't fully understand Why, What, or anything else......I don't think it was "Sold" to me....DYOR.
Earlier in Jan 2007 the sp was 15p . . . . drifted to 12p and Spark Ventures [SPK] .. now looks like under 11.5p
+ Not sure what it really means - anyone else got an Insight?
Previously there was no Data (on Right-hand), now there is but I'm concerned it is for a previous company with the same Epic - don't know but just wonder.

March 08 - looks like drifting down more, 10/10.5 pence - - - and the company is spending its money on Buy-backs. - Oh dear, when will companies realise this is not value-creating!
Anyone explain what these shares mean "in treasury" - does it mean they will be cancelled, or rather they are still hanging about, although not counted for voting.
I suspect this creative fudge enhances Director pay, treats or something....
Anyone?

Nasty drop to c. 5p in July-ish and today 8% rise on the back of 2k buys. It's still only 9p - so well down - But Markets are woeful, so some comfort, maybe?
EDIT:(3Jn09)-a handful of trades=1m, with zero Sells . . . . . . now 7p...Humm.

Nasty whiff off this Co ann. - they are returning money to shareholders to increase shareholder-value....whilst not investing (money?)in anything else.
- - - - - - - Looks like end of story, eh? - - - - - - - -
Yet Directors are rushing to buy shares, presumably to benefit from the cashback....yet they are able to pay just 2.5p whilst the mid-mkt price is closer to 6p
The sp has been on a slide for years, not abrupt, but like the fiz from a bottle of pop in the sun; it just leaks away.
. . . . . . . . . . . . This needs investigating . . . . .
EDIT(2Oct09)- Looks like Management knows how to run thwe business better when they are in charge, rather than running it for the benefit of shareholders (by which I mean Retail-Investors, not Execs that took-up shares after their "review Meeting), reported recently. Let's hope these Execs never run any share-based investment....Oh and best of luck to them, don't U . . . . . . . . . . . . .

ST of IC - Trading strategy
It’s worth noting that it is possible to deal between the bid-offer spread on the shares and in decent bargain sizes too. I would therefore recommend buying SPARK’s shares up to a maximum price of 4.75p to provide a margin of safety. If the market makers raise their offer prices then simply hold back and wait for them to drift back. This investment has potential to reap a 25 per cent return, and perhaps even more, over the next six months if you are disciplined. Buy.

St of IC today -So with new investors on board, and a cash rich balance sheet ready to be deployed on publicly listed small caps and private equity investments, I feel that SPARK’s shares really should not be trading on a 13.5 per cent discount to pro-forma book value. I remain a buyer and maintain this holding has potential to deliver a 25 per cent gain over the next six months, or even more if IMImobile becomes a takeover play.

It was about 4p prior to the CON-solidation . . . so expect about £8 for a while, but I can't see anyone getting excited at £8, .... takeover-plays excepted ( Which always cause markets to pile-in, IMHO .).
EDIT (21Sept2015)- anyone going to the AGM? I think Execs have shown their lack of potential...... but maybe you know better???
UPDATE: 2018 - now known as Gresham House Strategic [ GHS ] - if that will improve things for L-T investors.
