VOG is presently drilling Well 104 in its West Medvezhye field,and expected to reach depth in 4 weeks from spud date of 30th June, that makes 27th July(this week).
Results of testing will be sometime mid/late August, with a positive outcome
it could be HUGH.
With estimates of 134BILLION cubic metres of GAS and 201 Million barrels of Gas
Condensate,it will be a Company Maker. The field is in the area of the largest gas field in the WORLD.
Other assets include Kemerkol in Kazakhstan, with C1 reserves of 8.7MBO
and C2 reserves of7.8MBO. Another acquistion is Tamdykol with potental
reserves of 34MBO, it also has interest in 2 blocks in the North Sea.

It has excellent management team led by Kevin Foo, who hopes to turn it into
a Mid Cap Company(�500m+) in the not to distant future.

yes, glad i hung on too, suppose some profit taking will come in soon, but not sure when. looks good for the long haul if the posters above are correct.

The big difference is its now a very much derisked 300p+ fair value.

Its also max 9 weeks to news on well 104, this is the bigger news, as this is the change to real figures, not speculation, then with 2 more wells to unlock some more of that 5.5 trillion within 21 weeks.

I would not see any problem with this at the 300p level, and then higher on speculation now of the well test results on well 104 due before end of March.

300p fair value + what for speculation that 104 will be 0.5 confirmed ?? That is the key, and is there upside to the 0.5 trillion on 104 ?

Then what if.........what if well 104 is 0.5t or more, what if new wells 106 and 103 find another 0.5t each, or they find 1t each......there is no way in the world I will be selling before all news is in on 104,106 and 103, and that news starts soon with 104, and 106 and 103 are a max 21 weeks aways. This coming news on 104, 106 and 103 is the transformation news, news that takes probable into proven and that is where the biggest rises will come from I think.

But there is more, there are other things going on with VOG, and more good news is expected from other area's of their business.

Seriously, this is a hold/add/buy depending on your status I think, and one no to be shaken out of, the next news in the coming months is the bigger news.

Well I well and truly screwed up my exit. Almost kept abreast in Chaco - but not quite.

hyloe T trades are protected trades, meaning the amount and price is agreed but the remainder of the buy or sell is worked over the day.

Nothing sinister, just means some large trades have been going on, well over the NMS size. Owing to the time of the T trade being anywhere from 08:00 to 16:30, when a T trade is reported, ignore the buy or sell rating, as the price could have been at any time during they day, so therefore depending on price movement could have been either a buy or a sell.

I bet EK feels a bit sick, he off loaded a day or so ago. Don't hold balls not big enough, but good luck to those who do. Well done PP a good call.

Were you eager to sell your shares? Without doubt, it was the right time to do so. Maybe, you were even courageous enough for a short sale. If you have done so, it is even better.

That's a bit unfair! It was from 2 weeks ago! I did sell at just over 160 and at the time it was right to do so. Incidentally, the BB website had VOG as a "Buy If" again since then.

Bought back in on the drop yesterday at 148.5. Timing was more by luck than design, but I'm not going to complain. My rational was that we were due an update on the oil drilling by end of Jan, which I thought would bump it up a few pence. Was not expecting this!!

Any one got any idea what is the price level to buy again

I took profits a couple of weeks ago---but bought back in today I don't want to get left behind and I feel it won't pull back very much while we are waiting for news. DIRAJ you may get in a little cheaper towards close on Friday----but then again you might not!!!

Or is this confirmation of the commercially recoverable rates of gas from the find at the first field a couple of months ago? Because if so I thought that was potentially 25 trillion cubic feet of gas the first time and this is what had moved the price. Is this confirmation of this find or are these discoveries? Thankyou

Bought in first at 126p,the Mail article,hung on,then bought at 160p,price went down again,bought in yesterday at 148.21p,thought I was seeing things at 08.00 this morning,early retirement soon I think.

Saintserf, the previous RNS in November had the 'mid-range' estimate of reosurces at 0.5tcf, with a 'high' estimate of 2.3tcf. That referred to Well 104 only. As part of the work on 104, they did Vertical Seismic Profiling, ehich I presume gave then additional data about the whole field. This they have now evaluated and come up with 5.5tcf as the mid-range estimate. Plus they've confirmed condensate at 148m boe or so and 25m boe of oil. So, 11 times more gas then previous estimate, within the previous estimate range of condensate, and the newly identified oil.

I have no idea where you get 25tcf from, I think its a red herring.

Make no mistake, 5.5tcf is pure, unadulterated good news, which is why the sp went up 60% today.

Saintserf, the 5.5 trillion gas and over 1 billion bboe is for the whole field. Well 104 was drilled before, this was the well that caused the big news. Now the testing of this well is ongoing and when test results are known, the 0.5t will be confirmed, it may be lower or higher, but it will then be a confirmed figure.

In order to find more of this 5.5 trillion, they are drilling 2 new wells, 106 and 103, and these if they hit and after testing will firm up some more of that 5.5 trillion figure. Well 104 test news is due within 9 weeks. Wells 106 and 103 will be drilled and test results out in 21 weeks.

Wells 106 and 103 are in the same area as 104, and are to firm up more of that 5.5 trillion from possible resources into reserves.

What this means is a possible change from 5.5 trillion possible into....well, 0.5 or 1 or 1.5 or 2 or...........whatever the confirmed reserves total is after testing on 104+106+103.

Confirmed 0.5t just from well 104 is worth over 300p, as you can appreciate, the more drills, the more confirmed test results, the more of the 5.5t that becomes confirmed, the more VOG price will rise and rise.

sentement towards VOG, also to ask about the progress RE well testing & oil

I can confirm that we anticipate that results from the testing of
discovery Well 104 at West Medvezhye are expected to be finalised on
schedule during the first quarter of this year. Operations at appraisal
Well 106 and new exploration Well 103 are also on course for well
testing to be completed in the second quarter.

Re-entry work has already begun at Kemerkol in Kazakhstan and coupled
with the drilling of a twin well, we anticipate that oil production will
commence in this quarter.

I hope that you had a chance to see our announcement this morning.
DeGolyer & MacNaughton have released an updated feasibility study on the
West Medvezhye licence block reporting prospective recoverable resource
volumes of 5.5 Tcf of gas, 146 million barrels of gas condensate and 25
million barrels of oil. This equates to over one billion barrels of oil
equivalent for the whole project. The full study is available on our
