Could ETQ's share price be soon to benefit from their developments with the new UVGI Nightingale Mobile Air Filtration Product.
New UVGI air filtration product
In November 2002, the ETQ announced its new Nightingale UVGI air filtration product, to be produced by a new joint-venture company, UVGI Systems Limited, owned 55% by the Group and 45% by Suvair Limited. This rapid response mobile air filtration unit is capable of killing the MRSA super bug and other airborne pathogens.
The UVGI unit has widespread application where there is need to keep
air free of dangerous live bacteria, viruses, and fungal spores, including
hospitals, schools, cruise liners, aircraft, food processing, and military
applications.
The UVGI unit uses a high intensity Ultra Violet Germicidal Irradiation ('UVGI')
filter, which has been designed to control harmful and dangerous airborne
pathogens, such as Anthrax, Tuberculosis, and Staphylococcus aureus, the
causative agent in MRSA. The filtration system is combined with use of high
intensity Ultra Violet light, which inactivates micro organisms by disrupting
their DNA structure.
Tests of a prototype at the Defence Science Technology Laboratory ('Dstl') at
Porton Down, the centre for excellence for the Ministry of Defence, showed that
the UVGI unit captured and/or destroyed more than 99.9% of Bacillus subtilis
spores, a simulant for Anthrax bacteria.
Since November, second generation units have been developed, which will go on
applications testing at an NHS Trust Hospital in December 2003, following
building completion of its new haematology unit. It is also anticipated the
UVGI unit will shortly go on laboratory testing in the United States with
contractors nominated by the Department of Homeland Security.
Concern seems to be hotting up on the T.V. news that the MRSA super bug is still killing and disabling people visiting or as patients in NH Trust hospitals. It would be surprising if NH Trust hospital do not notice and Buy this product before they get to many expensive law suits for compensation claims.
Definitely a stock that could soon be heading north. Worth buying in but DYOR

Interesting, MMs offering 6.75 pence on the bid online now. A big premium of 0.25 pence on the bid...must mean something.

Re : my posts in the morning, a 250,000 T buy has just come through at 7.00 pence. Someone had an order to purchase 250,000 shares at 7.00 pence.
Hi momentum, all funds tied up at the moment.

At close :
Buys = 632,199
Sells = 419,644
Buys outweigh Sells for the ninth trading session in a row.
Somebody is accumalating stock here at 7.00 pence, that has been the case this week. See the trades since Monday where the buys have been large ones at 100K, 200K+ and sells have been few generally at 50K and below.
Re:my posts earlier why the MMs were paying a premium of 0.25 pence on the bid at 6.75 pence online was that the 250K buy was going to come through just before close.

sh even though this is the 9th day in a row buys v sells why is the price not reflecting this seems static all week?

Hi Woodie, It is because there have been large buy orders that have been on the market makers books to fill at set prices between 7.00-7.50 pence. Looks like some clever accumulation going on - without causing too big a rise in price.
Have a look at this, a nice pattern :
Before last week the price was building a base at 5.00 pence
Last week the price was building a base at 6.00 pence
This week the price has been building a base at 7.00 pence.
PS. Ten trading days ago I bought my first batch at 4.95 pence so the price has risen 40% in the last ten trading days and has been as much as 50% up from that level.

Infection Alert at Hospital :
Now, if they'd been using Nightingales this might never have happened.
11:00 - 12 August 2004
Patients who booked in for joint replacement operations at Southmead Hospital have had their operations cancelled because of a possible infection risk in operating theatres. Around 20 serious operations involving invasive surgery at Avon Orthopaedic Centre have been cancelled as a result of problems with ventilation systems.
However, most smaller operations will continue to take place in the hospital theatres.
The North Bristol NHS Trust, which runs Southmead Hospital, said the theatres have been closed because an air flow problem may cause an increased risk of infection for joint replacement operations, which involve cutting and exposing more flesh than many other operations.
Alison Sullivan, aged 41, from Kingswood, was informed that an operation on her ankle had been cancelled.
Her husband Steve said: "I'm so angry, because this has put my wife under so much stress."
A North Bristol NHS Trust spokesperson said: "There may be a possible chance of a very small increased risk of infection for joint replacement operations, which are highly invasive procedures."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just shows how disgraceful the problems are and the top people still can't see them. Yes it will cost money to implement measures but is better than hospitals closing down and these people losing their jobs.

New Investtech update (changed) which has been upgraded from weak positive candidate to positive candidate for the short term after yesterday's close.
Positive Candidate (Short term) - Aug 12, 2004
Is within a rising trend and continued advance within the current trend is indicated. On reactions back, there is support against the floor of the trend channel. The stock has support at p 5.10 and resistance at p 8.00. Volume tops correspond well with price tops, and volume bottoms correspond well with price bottoms. Volume balance is also positive, which strengthens the trend. The stock is overall assessed as technically positive for the short term.

Neutral (Medium term) - Aug 12, 2004
Is within a falling trend and continued decline within the current trend is indicated. On reactions back, there is resistance against the ceiling of the trend channel. The moving average indicator has, however, given a positive signal. In isolation this signals a continued rise, but the slowness of the indicator often means that one has lost much of the upside. The stock has resistance at p 8.70. Positive volume balance strengthens the stock in the short term. The stock is overall assessed as technically neutral for the medium long term.

Weak Positive Candidate (Long term) - Aug 12, 2004
Is within a falling trend and continued decline within the current trend is indicated. On reactions back, there is resistance against the ceiling of the trend channel. Has met the objective at 12.66 after a break of a inverse head and shoulders formation. The price has now fallen, but the formation indicates further rise. The stock has support at p 3.50 and resistance at p 11.40. Volume tops and volume bottoms correspond well with tops and bottoms in the price. Volume balance is also positive, which weakens the falling trend and could be an early signal for a coming trend break. Trading volume has increased substantially lately. This shows there is an increased interest for the stock, possibly because of fundamental news. The stock is overall assessed as technically slightly positive for the long term.

although a holder of etq, i cannot understand why these fridge sized units are required at all. if hospitals cleaned properly and used tried and tested infection control techniques, the problems etq is trying to solve would disappear.
a rather crude analogy is eg the use of abs in car braking systems. the driver knows he can hit the pedal as hard as he likes and the machinery will do the work.
im not in etq because of the technology, im in because it appears they might start selling it.

Hi superrod, below is one of my earlier posts with regards to the size of the Nightingale units.
The size of the Nightingale Units :
I emailed the CEO of ETQ asking if they have considered producing a smaller version of the Nightingale, and I've now had a reply. Well it appears there is a complete product range (and not just the one in the picture (website)) currently being marketed by N.Q. Environmental U.S.A. Here is the relevant part of the email:
"With regard to smaller versions of the product, we now have a complete product range on offer having signed an exclusive distribution agreement with N.Q. Environmental U.S.A.
They give us the opportunity to sell units as small as TV sets. Already N.Q. Environmental have sold and are selling the Nightingale unit in the U.S.A."

thanks, but that doesnt really answer my main concern. ie this technology shouldnt even be needed with good housekeeping. btw my wife is a nurse ( 25 years ) and agrees with me. these are not by any means new problems. im happy to make money on etq though, whether i should or not is another question.

The September presentations with the NHS chiefs is a great opportunity for ENERGY TECHNIQUE to get their message across which is that the NHS need to have as many methods/processes in place to prevent the MRSA problems.Hygiene involves many areas which need to be addressed and ENERGY TECHNIQUE will stress that airbourne infections can be prevented with their Nightingale product for which they have data from hospitals which have used their products showing the effectiveness of their product. The NHS will need to understand that they need to use ENERGY TECHNIQUE air products alongside other measures to ensure an hygienic environment. The ENERGY TECHNIQUE product is a preventative measure and that is what the NHS need to wake up too!
The extent of the MRSA problems means that they should take on board these issues because certain hospitals could be closed down unless they take on board every measure to overcome the problems!
Tuesday's Bloomberg article mentioned that hospitals in the USA were buying more products. Now the point is that whatever the products are they will also have a knock on effect on the hygiene problems which will also need to be addressed a great sign for ETQ.
More lawsuits (in the US) re MRSA - this may help sales of the Nightingale there if such lawsuits are successful!

... and here is the latest cure for MRSA! ...straight off the Aussi press:
http://www.thesundaymail.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5936,10371629%255E903,00.html
(even if it works it won't stop people becoming infected in the first place of course)
and finally, this article sums up why the MRSA problem has now become so tragically serious in our hospitals, as we all well know but the government does not want to admit.

Re : shareprice.
One change today is positive in that for the short term trading range it was stated as ETQ does not show any clear trend. Now it is stated that we are in a rising trend & continued rise within the trend channel is indicated.
