Rockhopper was established in 2004 with a strategy to invest in and undertake an offshore oil exploration programme in the North Falkland Basin. It was floated on AIM in August 2005. Rockhopper was the first company to make a commercial oil discovery in the Falklands. Today Rockhopper is the largest acreage holder in the North Falkland Basin, with interests in the Greater Mediterranean region.

Don't think that they are going to do the minority shareholders any favours, but if they think that this is best way to raise capital at this point...so be it...

if the money to be raised is by rights issue rather than placing, then unless i am much mistaken, PIs will get exactly the same terms as institutions

sp slipping in the absence of positive news, success or otherwise of Rachel will either boost the sp or we may see a serious fall.

ignoring that RKH's sp may be artificially plumped ahead of any rights issue, other than emotionally, the effect of Rachel being a duster should have limited impact ..... RKH only have a 7.5% interest in Rachel and of course they already have a few shillings-worth of oil in the kitty .... the effect on DES would of course be very significant, which is why i only have a 50% stake there

For those not already invested, I think the de-risked play here is to back RKH. In the event, DES hit s duster, RKH will be affected but marginally so and will probably recover quite quickly based on the fact they already have oil. If DES strikes, the field will be further proven and RKH will react in sympathy to the inevitable DES SP rise. Of course, DES SP will triple, whilst RKH's shows a moderate increase. Depends on one's risk appetite I guess. Following RKH's fall from recent highs, judging an entry price may be a challenge.

50% of my self-imposed normal stake .... the quantum is neither your biz nor actually relevant ..... inter alia, it is an indication of the risk/reward i perceive

Not just a duster but less than fifty million barrels.....20 or 30 million and RKH rises and DES drops.....(a few ifs and buts) to go with that.....agree with your thoughts entirely Ptholden.

Your %age figures are a relatively new addition to your posts cynic! As we don't really know what your self imposed stake is each time, they seem to have a spurious relationship to any actual figures! Am happy with 'Underweight' 'Overweight'. :o)

In RKH, yes. Physically no, as only 70 kgs. (11 stone)
Underweight in DES, totally weightless in Argos & FOGL.

bullshit! ..... just use basic maths .... a 50% stake means i hold 1/2 the value of 100% stake - doh! simples innit! .... it's not much different from saying someone is rich or poor ..... it's a matter of degree .... just own up and admit you're just bloody nosey to know how much i invest each time
